Visiting the Merchant Association

"Draconian race, Draconith Emberforge bloodline, and even Sword Saint class. Man, this guy is awesome. It's a pity that he got his leg injured though," Kuber mumbled, marveling at Darryl's impressive status. Even if someone could overlook his race and class, no one could ignore the fact that he is level 46.

"But, wait, can't he just find a method to heal his injuries with such amazing abilities? After all, this is a world where people can actually live for 10,000 years," Kuber grumbled, pondering the possibilities of Darryl not being able to heal his leg and feeling confused about this world.

Without wasting any more precious time, he exited the room and locked the door with the key provided by the inn manager. As he descended the stairs, he approached the inn manager.

"Excuse me!" Kuber lightly tapped on the table to get her attention.

"Yes, newbie. Did you need something?" the inn manager asked, emerging from the kitchen just behind the reception room.

"Can you tell me the directions to the merchant association?" Kuber inquired politely.

The inn manager, who had previously looked at Kuber with contempt, suddenly changed her hateful stare to a look filled with respect.

"Oh my! You should've told me that you are from the Merchant class," the inn manager exclaimed, smiling brightly and grabbing Kuber's hand with a joyful expression. "If I had known earlier, I wouldn't have been so rude to you."

Kuber, feeling annoyed by the manager's behavior, replied with narrowed eyes, "It's okay. I don't mind such small stuff. Can you please release my hand and tell me the directions to the merchant association first?"

"I am sorry, sir." The inn manager quickly released his hand. "You just need to go straight and turn left from here. You will see an extravagant building with a golden bird sign on it. That will be your destination, the Merchant Association."

From her changed behavior, it seemed like merchants were highly respected in this tower. "Thank you for the directions. I will come back for dinner tonight," Kuber replied before making his way to the Merchant Association.

Kuber thanked the manager politely and continued on his way towards the merchant association building. Along the path, a man clad in dirty white clothes approached him, offering an iron sword.

"Sir! Do you want to buy this fine work of art? It can even cut through hard steel with a swing," the man claimed, trying to entice Kuber with the sword.

Being suspicious of the man, Kuber decided to examine the sword using his unique skill.

—————

[Basic level sword]

A basic level sword made with a normal iron and crafted by a level 5 blacksmith. It can cut through a pile of wood with some difficulty and can endure the aura of a basic low level.

[Rank] – F

[Durability] – 57/100

[Price] – 50 stone credits

—————

'So he is trying to scam me. What a fool,' Kuber thought to himself, feeling annoyed by the attempt.

With an annoyed expression, Kuber asked the scammer while still examining the sword, "How much for this?"

The scammer grinned and rubbed his hands together, seeing an opportunity to exploit a newbie like Kuber.

"Ahaha... I would have asked for 200 stone credits if you weren't a newbie. But, since you are a newbie, I will give you a 50 percent discount. It will be just 100 stone credits."

Kuber's fists clenched with anger, and his expression turned into that of an annoyed and angry man. Despite his emotions, he took deep breaths to calm himself down and replied, "I see, sorry, but I can't buy your sword because I am lacking money right now."

With a fake smile directed at the scammer, Kuber turned away and headed towards the Merchant building, ignoring the scammer's attempts to lower the price.

"Then, how about 70 stone credits? I can't go any lower!" the scammer persisted, attracting the attention of nearby onlookers. However, Kuber continued walking forward without looking back, determined to avoid falling for such scams.

'I need to be careful. There are many scammers like him going around trying to exploit credits from newbies,' Kuber thought, walking towards the association with a worried expression.

After a while, he arrived in front of the building that the inn manager had described. It was indeed an extravagant sight, adorned with a golden bird sign. Several carriages were parked in front, each pulled by different horse breeds.

The horse breeds outside the building were indeed quite unusual, with some having black scales covering them while others had wings of various sizes. However, what shocked Kuber the most were the coachmen; there were coachmen from different species. One had green skin, standing at 7 feet tall with impressive muscles, suggesting he was an orc. There were also coachmen from races like gnomes, half-elves, and even giants.

"Sir, are you here to register with the Merchant Association?" asked a man with dark blue eyes and pointy ears, who appeared to be a staff member.

"Yes! I am here to register my account. Where do I need to go?" Kuber replied, maintaining a bright smile on his face.

"Please follow me, sir. I will lead the way," the staff member said, and Kuber followed him into the extravagant building.

Inside, the floor was made of mysterious black marble, its glossy surface reflecting opulence. Lifelike paintings adorned the walls, captivating visitors and almost coming alive. A diverse crowd from different species stood in line at counters, adding to the building's cosmopolitan charm. Guards, dressed in expensive and refined black armor, heightened the sense of exclusivity. The entire space exuded luxury, leaving all who entered in awe of its grandeur.

"Judging from your expression, it seems like you really like our association building," the staff member guiding Kuber said with a smile on his face.

"Yes, it's quite extravagant. Which is definitely what I like," Kuber replied, while admiring the paintings hanging on the walls.

"Well, you will be able to afford them someday if you can reach the higher floors, sir. Since you are a merchant with the Vampire race, it will be quite easy for you," the staff member said with a chuckle and pointed towards a counter.

"Please join this line, sir, for your registration. You will be able to register here for your merchant card," the staff person added, providing Kuber with the necessary information before bidding farewell and leaving.

Moments later, when the line in front of the registration counter cleared, it was finally Kuber's turn to get himself registered.

"Yes, how can I help you?" asked a gorgeous receptionist with her honey-like voice.

"I want to get myself registered as a merchant here, please," Kuber replied with a polite tone and stern expression.

Kuber maintained a composed demeanor as he followed the receptionist's instructions. She handed him a small black card that resembled Earth's credit cards.

"Please, provide a drop of your blood to complete the registration."

Kuber picked up a needle from the counter and lightly pricked his thumb, allowing a drop of blood to fall onto the card. After wiping the blood off using his clothes, he returned the card to the receptionist.

"Thanks for your cooperation. Here is your ID card," the receptionist said, handing Kuber the black card now imbued with his blood.

"Is that all? I don't need to do anything else?" Kuber asked, feeling a bit confused by the seemingly swift registration process.

"Yes, this process doesn't take much time. Now, you just need to pay 80 stone credits," the receptionist replied with a warm smile, presenting a black slab with an empty circle, approximately the size of a coin, for the payment.
