Gaining something new

While Jake was questioning what he should the Princess was looking at him let down by his inability to find a way out even though he got away from her last time.

As Jake was looking around he asked The System in his head.

Jake: ' Hey system could you identify the landscape around us for the best route out?' He asks curious.

System: ' I would need you to move around to obtain a visual of the landscape.' The System says.

Jake: ' Is there possibly another way?' He asks because he does not want to get caught by the guards.

System: ' There is another way but it would exhaust your mana capacity.' He says calmly.

System: ' Would you like to proceed with this method?' It asks Jake.

Jake: ' Yes I would!' He says excited to see what he could do with mana.

System: ' Confirmed, first step, feel inside your body look for something foreign.'

Jake tries to feel around his body for a foreign energy or something of that sort but he doesn't seem to find anything.

Jake: " Hey System I don't think it's working?" He says confused.

System: ' It has been a minute or so since you started, mana usually takes a few days to identify and even longer to find its source.' The System says explaining that it may take a bit for Jake.

Jake: " Ok." he says while taking a deep breath in and breathing out before going back to looking for his mana source.

As he stands there looking for the source another person is looking at him curiously.

Princess POV...

As I was standing there looking at the boy who was just up until a few minutes ago dragging me around he started talking.

He started saying something like " Hey I don't think its working" and " ok" but when I look at him I don't see any communication items on him so I became confused and a few minutes later I started to sense something being spread out in the air around us.

Jake POV...

As He was standing there he finally felt something electrifying as he went to try and interact with it he felt that there was a trail of this stuff so he followed it and eventually he found some kind of clump of this material.

He reached into the material and suddenly it felt like he could do anything for second before being shocked as the material flowed into his body.

After the shocking stopped he felt much better like he was in peak physical condition.

Before he could do anything a voice popped up in his head.

System: " Mana source discovery complete moving onto step two, Spread the energy you have received around you." It says robotically.

As soon as Jake heard the instructions he tried spreading out that energy he just received and suddenly it felt like electricity was flowing through every vein and out every pore of his body before spreading out across the area around him.

Suddenly he could feel everything around him from the large walls to the small mice that were scurrying with ing the castle.

As he sat there he opened his eyes before a notification popped up saying new skill unlocked "Area survey".

Jake: " What?" He says confused by the sudden appearance of a skill.

Before he could say anything else his status screen appeared before him.

Due to special actions of identifying mana for the first time the area your mana envelopes increased temporarily to 5 meters.

Seeing this he was excited but unfortunately he used up all his mana causing him to fall to the floor in exhaustion from the field being too large for him to maintain.

Princess POV...

After that large burst of what I identified as mana I saw the boy in front of me collapse with a dopey smirk on his face.

Princess: ' It looks like neither he nor I will be going anywhere.' The Princess thought to herself as she picked him up and brought him to her room to lay down on the couch.

Jake first person POV...

'I feel like I am floating in darkness, I thought I would be fine if I did that.

I guess that feeling of strength was just temporary.' I thought to myself before I fell asleep.

Third person POV...

Suddenly in the distance of the darkness there was another entity that had its face hidden by a hood seemed to be observing the child.

???: " Interesting... I'll be keeping an eye on you." The hooded entity said as it seemed to smirked before fading away into the darkness.
