A Faint Glimmer

The Lightning Translation technique? This was not just any technique. One could traverse the heavens with it!

Unlike Telekinesis this technique was truly top tier and getting it could change the game. While it does use a lot of energy, it provides almost instantaneous travel to anywhere under the sky. It's only limit was one could not teleport underground with it. The reason was simple. Lightning doesn't strike underground.

Whenever you traveled with it you would come in as lightning hitting the ground. What a cool entrance and very domineering.

Gin got lost in thought, his last one being, if I use it in a lake, does it kill all the creatures within? The harvest of techniques could be insane. Gin often had crazy notions or ideas on how to use abilities in an unconventional manner. Most would be happy just to have it and make a cool entrance but not Gin. He was always measuring the value behind such an ability and to what limits he could push it.

Could he power a city? Was height involved in the translation? Could he be struck by lightning for using it?

Any question was welcome. The answer? Not so obvious..

Gin messaged back quickly, "Deal!" Although he messaged quickly, Gin had been lost in thought for over 30 minutes.

Little Fan fell asleep while waiting and was abruptly woken up by the notification bell.

His eyes began to focus after rubbing them and letting out a satisfying yawn that would make the birds sing.

Little Fans eyes widened in excitement, "Okay brother, I will send you the details in the morning. I have to write everything up on what I learned about the beasts location and abilities/weaknesses." He responded after 5 minutes of typing.

Little Fan was a slow typer. Not for intellectual reasons but mainly his fingers capsized the keys. When trying to type 1 key, he often pressed a second. It was interesting to say the least with his composure he somehow maintained.

"Okay, payment in morning then, I'll head off for now." Gin responded.

Gin stayed on for another hour, his weakness for the computer was evident.

He enjoyed playing games to sharpen his intellect and also coded in his free time. He wrote programs that would help him in everyday life, he even made his alarm clock yell at him to wake up. He regretted that one most days.

After learning of the technique, an Idea began to form. How would he get stronger, what was the timeline and where would he go? What kind of ideals would he hold?

Gin resolved himself to help orphans but knew he must get stronger soon, he had a sense of some foreboding force in the near future that was going to attack not only him but everyone he cared about.

After staying up an additional 5 minutes thinking about the future, he nodded off to sleep..

---

Early the next morning a hawk was flying through the air overlooking the city. She was flying over a black market. As you could possibly guess, it was Malee.

She was looking at the stalls that decorated the street, as much as she wanted to swipe down and take the first thing she saw it was not so simple. The whole street was enhancers for one and second there was a laser grid covering the top of the stalls. She would have to swipe from the forest it seems she thought.

The feeling of the breeze brushing against her body was unreal. She could see almost everything in the city from such a height! The bustling city was home to over 5 million people. It was massive but still packed.

---

A few hundred miles away a youth was arriving at the border of the wall.

"ID" the border guard stated.

Gin passed it over and very quickly was on his way.

According to Little fans info the beast was a lightning wolf. It travelled in packs of over a hundred wolves. This was going to be a challenge.

Gin had some ideas of how he would conquer such a challenge, but it would still be tricky.

The pack of wolves were known to be 20 miles out north west of the wall. Significantly longer of a journey but more risk brings more reward. Gin brought the usual equipment and camping gear. He had also purchased light armor to protect himself against any bites or claws. He found a Blending cloak on the market for cheap due to its size. Wolves could smell anyways, so he would use this for concealing the upper body while watching them from a distance.

The cloak cost Gin over 3,000 credits. Truly expensive. Gin almost shed a tear handing the credits over. Credits never came easy to him and he had worked so hard through basic to acquire them.

A few hours later and lots of avoiding creatures that would crush Gin without a second thought, he arrived.

There were creatures that were the size of buildings roaming around, way more rare to see though. The ones that Gin was usually seeing were sized as big as a car and some reaching the height of trees.

Gin looked over the hill and noticed pack of lightning wolves moving together in the distance. There were about 40 of them. This seemed to be a smaller pack. He was lucky.

The plains they walked over was a large expansive green area with plenty of tall grass to conceal a person. Since Gin had the height, he could make out the number of wolves there were.

The static coming from their skin added a glimmer of light over the landscape. It was beautiful to behold but soon they would be in Gins hands. They were beasts and Gin was the hunter. They were gazelle and he was the lion.

So here was Gins plan. Why fight he thought? He had bought matches before he left with a few tiny boxes that could conceal the wind from hitting them.

The idea was simple, Gin would use telekinesis to float the then actively lit matches around the field at a certain speed and effectively crush the lightning wolves while surrounding them in a circle of fire.

The plan seemed simple and effective. He was going to extinguish the fire when he was done.

He also noticed a river running along side the plain that he could use to throw water at any wolves using the lightning translation technique to leave the circle. Not all the wolves had the technique and getting it to drop was also a thing of luck. So Gin had to be patient, there was a reason for needing to kill this many wolves but without proper conduct the plan could go sour quickly.

The drop rate was just half a percent out of 100. (0.05%)

This would be a challenge to get for sure.
