Chapter 10: A Soak and Awaiting Intrusions

"Ezekiel!" Chiron's voice cut through the tranquility of the training grounds, halting Ezekiel's leisurely stroll away from the sparring area. He turned, his expression one of mild interest, but his demeanor remained relaxed.

"Yeah, Chiron?" Ezekiel responded with a casual tilt of his head, his tone easygoing.

Chiron approached with a furrowed brow, his usually composed demeanor tinged with concern. "Ezekiel, there's something I've noticed," he began, his voice low and serious.

Ezekiel raised an eyebrow, intrigued but not overly concerned. "Oh? What's on your mind, old centaur?" he quipped, a faint smirk playing on his lips.

Chiron sighed, his gaze steady as he spoke. "During your bout with Percy earlier, your demeanor... it was unlike anything I've seen before," he explained carefully, his tone measured.

Ezekiel's grin widened, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Oh, you mean the way I fight? well, I've been told it's pretty strange " he remarked, his voice laced with amusement. "That's just me, Chiron. Nothing to worry about."

Chiron's expression remained troubled, his concern deepening. "But Ezekiel, that level of aggression... it's unusual, even for a demigod," he persisted, his voice tinged with urgency. "It's as if... something darker is at play here."

Ezekiel shrugged nonchalantly, dismissing Chiron's worries with a wave of his hand. "Aggression, darkness... you're reading too much into it, and besides I'm the son of Hades darkness comes with the territory, you need to stop worrying so much and just relax Chiron," he replied breezily, his tone light. "All I need right now is a good soak in the bath. The rest can wait."

Reaching his cabin, Ezekiel pushed the door open and stepped inside, the familiar scent of cedarwood and pine greeting him. He tossed his sword onto the bed with a careless gesture, his mind already wandering to the prospect of a soothing soak in the camp's bathhouse.

But as he made his way towards the bathhouse, Ezekiel couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was amiss. It wasn't just Chiron's concern that troubled him; it was the absence of missions from his system that truly bothered him, at this point, Ezekiel should've murdered 3 demigods for speaking the wrong way or at least found some monsters that would cause the mission to pop up on the translucent screen. But that hadn't happened and he was feeling restless especially after the bout he just had. Just as he was wondering why the system hadn't given him any missions he suddenly heard a ding and a screen popped in front of him causing him to smile.

As Ezekiel read the words on the screen

[Kill your attackers: 0/7]

[Reward: Passive skill [Eyes of the Abyss]]

He was curious as to the people who were brave enough to attack him even after the display at noon. He just decided to finish his bath before waiting for his attackers to show themselves and was very anxious to see blood. As he walked into the bath he felt like a child about to open his Christmas gift.
