Gandalf was in Minas Tirith with both Hobbits as it seemed that Minas Tirith was ready to defend itself.
"They must have prepared long before we won in Helm's Deep," says Gandalf seeing Soldiers in armor making themselves ready to fight against Mordor.
"We have to meet Boromir's father. Boromir gave us a letter to deliver it for him," says Pippin as Gandalf sighs.
"We will meet Denethor II at any moment now. Just let me talk with him to explain to him about what is going on," says Gandalf as they were riding his horse slowly through the main street.
"It doesn't seem they will need help to win this battle," says Merry seeing all the soldiers.
"There you lie wrong. Mordor has far more troops than we face at Helm's Deep. They will use every last man they have to take Minas Tirith once they find out two Hobbits are here," says Gandalf as they seemed to be almost there.
"Hold there!" shouts a man at them making the Hobbits open their mouth wide thinking a friend of theirs beat them in arriving at Minas Tirith.
"Boromir!" shout Merry and Pippin as Gandalf holds his forehead.
"Boromir? You must be confusing me with my older brother," says the man as he walked towards them.
"Faramir, it has been a while," says Gandalf as Faramir recognizes Gandalf.
"Gandalf the Grey, what brings you here?" asks Faramir as Gandalf could see that something must have happened.
"You wouldn't be in Minas Tirith but Osgiliath. Did something happen there?" asks Gandalf as Faramir nods before he noticed the Hobbits.
"Now if that isn't a pleasant surprise. Two more Hobbits I have now encountered. In all my lifetime I never met one and now I met four in less than a month," says Faramir as Gandalf looked at him surprised.
"You met two Hobbits?" asks Gandalf as Faramir nods.
"Yes, they were accompanied by a Giant and an Elf," says Faramir when Gandalf connected everything.
"You met her Majesty and her husband. No wonder Minas Tirith is on high alert. They warned you," says Gandalf as Faramir nods.
"Yes, we met in Osgiliath when they were resting there before crossing the river," says Faramir as he explained everything.
"We need to talk to your father it is important," says Gandalf as Faramir was thinking about it.
"My father is quite occupied lately and that is worrying me a lot because he looks absent-minded as if something is bordering him," says Faramir as he was holding his chin.
"Then something might be wrong. We came to inform Minas Tirith about the great danger looming over the city and that reinforcement were on their way here from Rohan, Lórien, and Rivendell," says Gandalf confusing Faramir because that was way too many people for just a small offensive of Mordor.
"What are we going to fight really?" asks Faramir as Gandalf sighs.
"We will be fighting a whole offensive of Mordor's troops. We have the bait here now we only need the tool to make Mordor believe that the Ring is here," says Gandalf as Faramir became angry.
"You want to use Minas Tirith as bait," says Faramir angry as Gandalf nods.
"Yes, we all planned it from the beginning to give the other group the chance to sneak into Mordor," says Gandalf as he explained the plan.
"Does your father still have his Palantír?" asks Gandalf as Faramir nods.
"Yes, he is all day looking at it," says Faramir when Gandalf frowns.
"Not good, Nora used a Palantír on the way to Helm's Deep. She said someone was trying to manipulate her only for her to destroy the stone and warning the person behind it that she would get his head," says Gandalf as Faramir was confused.
"Who is Nora?" asks Faramir as Gandalf sighs.
"We have later enough time to talk about her but first we need to separate your father from the Palantír," says Gandalf as they rush towards the office of the Stewart finding Denethor II holding the Palantír.
Gandalf uses his staff to disrupt the connection between the Palantír and Denethor II when Pippin catches it before it fell to the ground. Suddenly Pippin began to scream in pain letting go of it as he holds his head.
"Pippin is everything alright," says Merry as he looked at Pippin who seemed asleep after the last scream.
Gandalf walked forward and looks at Pippin and says, "He is asleep. Maybe the trauma from touching the Palantír. We will have to wait for Nora or Celine to look after him once they are here."
"What have you done! I was about to find a way to avoid this conflict when you interrupted me," says Denethor II as he was furious with what Gandalf did.
"Father," says Faramir trying to calm Denethor II down.
"We did what we must to win this war. We will need some clothes to hide the Palantír for now. We don't want Sauron to know about what will be awaiting him," says Gandalf towards Faramir who nods.
"I will do so but we should first find a bed for the Hobbit," says Faramir as he picked Pippin up.
"That would be great," says Gandalf as they leave the office while dragging Denethor II with them so he couldn't use the Palantír.
On the way, Gandalf told Denethor II about everything that was going on outside Gondor and about the little group that was trying to penetrate into Mordor.
In the meantime near a Cave at the border towards Mordor, John was looking at Nesiara who sighs as she says, "Be happy that I am your wife."
She slowly ignited as she entered the cave when Frodo and Sam wanted to follow John stopped them while saying, "This will be too dangerous to you even with me protecting you."
Suddenly a pillar of fire streamed out of the cave burning the surrounding around the cave down. John erected a barrier but even the barrier seemed to crack under the pressure. This surprised the Hobbits since John seemed to be the stronger one of the couple.
The flames stopped and John's barrier survived the flames barely when he says, "We are lucky that we stayed outside or you two would be dead by now."
Nesiara slowly walked out of the cave when she says, "I cleared the cave but we should make haste."
"We should I can feel the troops of Mordor moving towards Gondor," says John as the group looked a bit concerned.
"What about Nora and Celine?" asks Nesiara as John closed his eyes.
"Nora is leading the Elven and Rohan Army at the moment. And Celine is with the others on a ship towards Minas Tirith," says John as he opened his eyes.
"That means the battle should be soon. That's good taking the attention from us giving us this chance. We can't fail them," says Nesiara as John put his hand on her shoulder.
"You should relax for a bit. Frodo and Sam need to rest once in a while not like us," says John as Nesiara was slowly resembling his younger version that wanted to make everything as fast as possible without thinking about the consequences.
"I'm sorry, I just want to finish with all of this before we lose another one of our children," says Nesiara as John sighs knowing full well how much she wept when they thought Bran dead.
"Just don't let this impatience consume you as it did with me," says John as he entered the cave beside her while Frodo and Sam followed.
Four days passed since then and the night sky was over Minas Tirith as Gandalf was beside Faramir when he says, "I really wish Nora would be here."
"You still haven't told me who this Nora is," says Faramir as he looked over the wall seeing a giant army of Orcs and Men.
"She is the daughter of John and Nesiara and a person that can summon an army out of nowhere. If she would already be here we would talk about a guaranteed victory with some losses," says Gandalf as he was hoping the two groups would arrive soon.
"But-," says Faramir as Gandalf interrupts.
"There are no 'Buts' now. Now we only have a do or die scenario from which John has spoken of before to me," says Gandalf as he had to survive now as the others did in Helm's Deep.
"Then let us 'do' instead of 'die'," says Faramir as he was confident to see the sun again tomorrow.
"Sound the horn!" shouts Faramir as a soldier does as commanded alerting the whole city.
The soldiers prepare to be invaded while the civilians run for the castle to hide themselves from the battle when Gandalf looks at the battlefield. The enemy army was advancing when Faramir raises his hand as the Archers prepared themselves.
Everything was ready Faramir was only waiting for the enemy to be near enough as he lowers his hand while shouting, "Fire!"
The arrows flew invisibly in the night sky as they felled the enemy. Archers continued firing until suddenly a giant fireball came towards them and Faramir shouts, "Evade!"
But it was too late Faramir and Gandalf successfully evade it but some of the Archers were squeezed dead under that fireball.
"Continue to fire!" shouts Faramir as he looked at Gandalf and says, "We will be needed at the wall over the gate."
They advance to that position when Gandalf says, "Is it wise for you to be this near to the enemy."
"The men need to know that even we are fighting or they will believe that we are hiding behind our position," says Faramir as he looked at his men and asks, "Is the oil ready?"
"Yes, Commander," says the soldier in command.
"Good wait for my signal," says Faramir looking towards the enemy as he sees more of those Fireballs going for the Archers on the wall.
"I really hope we survive this night," says Faramir as he was seeing his people dying.
