Getting Saul

Grimoire was taking in the world he was in at the moment as the place is reminding him of the surrounding area of the Red Canyon in which Red XIII is living at the moment with his pups.

The city before him looks like a futuristic Edge to him when he asks, "What is the problem with this world? It reminds me a lot of home."

"It resembles the past of your World, not the present. Your mother and the others did a great job in stabilizing the world you live in," says John looking at Grimoire who looked like a Crownguard in size but the rest was just like his body except for his skin which was lighter than his mother's but darker than his father's.

"So why have you really called me here?" asks Grimoire as he doesn't believe that his grandparents called him just so he can find a wife.

"So you can keep Panam off of your grandpa's back. She is playing hard to get but you will soon find out that it is all facade," says Nesiara making a bit of fun on Grimoire's account before saying, "The truth is that we normally leave a Guardian behind in each world we visit. In this world, we are training one but I think that she would love to relax a bit after all she is going through at the moment."

"And this is when you come into play," says John as he picked Grimoire's attention.

"You will be the Guardian of this world until the other Guardian is ready to be it again. After that you can return home or stay here depending on what you want to do," says Nesiara as she walks towards Panam who was fighting with her car at the moment.

"That damn Sandstrom from some days ago seemed to have damaged my beauty," says Panam angry as Grimoire walks over and takes a look at it.

"Oh, I can see the problem," says Grimoire as he suddenly summons water which begins to run through the car removing the stuck sand in it.

"Try it again," says Grimoire as he wanted to impress Panam.

"If you damaged my Warhorse I will make you a head shorter," says Panam threatening Grimoire who begins to laugh when she says, "Oh, I know that normal weapons don't work on you. But I am a woman with many resources and friends. I will find a way."

"Good luck trying," says Grimoire as Panam turns the key around and the engine of the Warhorse begins to work normally.

"It seems you have your use, eye candy," says Panam impressed by Grimoire as John and Nesiara were quite impressed themselves.

"I didn't know that you inherited more Parker blood than expected," says John impressed since Grimoire looked more like a spoiled brat than an engineer.

"I was forced by my mother to study. Of course, I picked a field I was interested in. How do you expect that my Fenris is the fastest on Gaia? I worked really hard on it," says Grimoire frustrated that even his grandparents looked down on him.

"Do you have it with you?" asks John curious to see it as Grimoire looked at him confused before he uses a hand seal and the Fenris was standing in front of Grimoire.

"This pulled more Chakra out of me than I had imagined," says Grimoire feeling how his energy was leaving him.

"Don't worry, you will adapt to it fast," says Nesiara while John was examining the Fenris that was before him.

"It reminds me of our escape from Midgard with the others," says John after his examination full of nostalgia.

"We can spectate the bike later. Now we need to save Saul," says Panam as she hangs half of her body out of the window.

"Right, who is Saul?" asks Grimoire confused since he wasn't informed on anything about what they were supposed to do right now.

"We are here to rescue Saul who is the Leader of those people. He has been kidnapped some hours ago so the chances that he is still alive are quite good," says Nesiara when John looks at the Greatsword Grimoire was carrying around.

"Do you fight like your father or uncle?" asks John since Vincent is a refine fighter compared to Kieron who fights more wildly.

"I learned how to fight from three people. My parents and uncle Kieron, they taught me everything that I know about fighting," says Grimoire as John opens the door behind the passenger seat and sits down.

"Then we will soon find out how effective you are really in a battle," says John as Grimoire sits beside Panam and Nesiara sits behind her.

Panama drives away from the camp and drives for at least an hour before she stops the Warhorse and she pulls a monitor out that was on the dashboard.

She turns it on and they could see the Shiv's Nest from the sky when she says, "Since you can't connect with the drone because you don't have any augmentations I had to resort to this for you."

"Thanks," says Nesiara as she and John were looking at the monitor when Grimoire opens the door of the car.

"I will take a closer look," says Grimoire as he was about to exit the car when Panam wanted to grab his shoulder only to find out that he slipped out of her grasp.

She was only seeing a red coat moving unnaturally when John says, "He seems to have his father's recon ability."

"What do you mean?" asks Panam not understanding what was going on.

"Nothing dear, let us concentrate on the surroundings while he scouts on his own," says Nesiara trying to avoid this conversation for now.

They stayed like this for a while until they saw all the information that the drone could give them when Grimoire enters the car again and asks, "Are we doing it the SOLDIER way?"

"SOLDIER?" asks Panam confused when Grimoire pulls out his phone when a hologram of Sephiroth, Zack, and Cloud appears before he begins to explain to Panam what a SOLDIER is in the most simplest way.

"Have you noticed the maintenance tunnel from your position?" asks John seriously as he thinks that his grandson was capable of more but only didn't want to do more because of his laziness.

"You mean the one a bit outside the camp? Yeah, I had a good view of it from the rooftop," says Grimoire as he pulled out his gun and inspected that it was loaded and ready for what will be happening next.

"We will use the maintenance tunnel to enter and leave the place without anyone noticing our presence," says John as Grimoire turned around looking at his grandfather confused.

"So we are not going to go in gun and blazing shooting everything down on our way?" asks Grimoire a bit disappointed.

"It is a rescue mission, not a mission of executing the enemy. Of course, it will be quiet and fast until the objective is safe and sound. Afterward, you can blow the camp away," says Nesiara lecturing her grandson before they leave the car.

"I will wait for you all here," says Panam as she was their driver and needed to be ready to take them away if the situation becomes awry.

"Good, be ready for it," says John as he looks at Grimoire who takes his sword from the trunk of the car.

They move and Nesiara uses her magic to make them invisible to the enemy. They move towards the maintenance tunnel and once there John goes in first before Grimoire enters behind him while Nesiara stayed behind as a lookout.

John and Grimoire arrived at a small room and they hear someone getting tortured by a person when John says, "We are almost there."

"Fuck, this reminds me a lot of what my aunts told me about Shinra," says Grimoire as John couldn't really disagree with Grimoire there.

"Yeah, they would do such things to some of their enemies to extract information. It is the easiest way after all even I use it from time to time to question people," says John surprising Grimoire when John says, "I think you never looked further into the concept of black and white. The world and all in it is gray, Grimoire. There are no heroes just people trying to survive in this world the best they can and if they need to do evil things to survive then it must be done."

"Then what are my mother and her friends?" asks Grimoire as John looked at him seriously.

"They are survivors, not heroes," says John as their action might look heroic from their side but from the other side they killed everything that walked over their way.

"And you and grandma?" asks Grimoire as John turned cold.

"I am a villain," says John coldly at his grandson making him feel goosebumps all over his body when he says, "I can't answer for your grandma. You have to ask her yourself to find out."

John never saw himself as the hero of the story even if he did heroic things in the past deep inside he knew that he wasn't made to be a hero, the part of the villain suited him better.

"A real hero can't do things that a person like I have to do. He needs to be able to walk on a righteous path that doesn't suit a warrior like me or anyone else I have met so far. But let us stop for now," says John as he stopped speaking as they arrived at their destination finding Saul being tortured by his captors.

John pulls out Yamato and looks at the enemy that was about to smash Saul's knee with a hammer when he swings at lightspeed Yamato.

John then removed his hand from Yamato and Grimoire looked at John confused when suddenly the enemy falls into small pieces to the ground. Then he enters the room and Grimoire looked at his grandfather differently.

John helped Saul out of the chair but he seemed to not be able to walk when John looks at Grimoire and says, "Carry Saul out of here. I will make sure that nobody follows you and him."

"What about you?" asks Grimoire as he walks over.

"I will be fine, but our objective is to get Saul out of here safe and sound so I will create a distraction. I would have allowed you to do it but you don't know your way around this world making it a risk leaving you alone here," says John sending Grimoire back to Nesiara as he stretches his hand out and Omega appears out of thin air.

"Neat trick," says Grimoire seeing that as he puts Saul over his shoulder.

"Tell your grandmother that we will have to eat later today," says John as Dragon Slayer appears in his other hand and John takes a step forward toward the basement while Grimoire ran off with Saul.

He soon reached Nesiara and he finds a car waiting there for them when suddenly they hear an explosion. Nesiara not seeing John could assess the situation quickly and grabs Grimoire before rushing for the Warhorse.

She grabs Saul and throws Grimoire in the trunk while putting Saul in the backseat when she says, "I and Grimoire will take care of the followers that notice us."

"Alright," says Panam as she hits the gas and Nesiara jumps on the car being beside her grandson when a second explosion could be heard.

They drive away as fast as possible when Nesiara noticed that nobody was following them. She felt a bit disappointed but it couldn't be helped since John bought them enough time to escape unnoticed.
