Chapter 13 Selection

Alex was bloodied all over again and only one wolf was alive in this side of the river , and all the other wolves were standing at the bank of the river and growling at Alex unable to do anything. Alex picked up the makeshift spear again from inside the head of the dead wolf , and stared at the wolf in front of him.

The wolf could feel it , that the person in front of him could kill him if it makes a single movement . Alex was not the prey but the predator , the wolf could feel an overwhelming feeling of confusion and fear wash over it and it started to whimper , and just when the wolf was about to turn tail and run , a spear lodged into the head of the wolf and it died a gruesome death. The other dire wolves in the other side of the river saw the scene . Alex was staring at them with a bloodied spear with the bloody insides of the dire wolf . They could sense it from him , the bloodlust that has hunted a lot of prey , All the wolves started to fear him and they whimpered for some time and turned their tail and ran away.

The direwolves Alex had killed were not normal direwolves ,they were the Red direwolves , they were stronger than silver-coloured normal direwolves and were also sturdier than them. They were a rare kind of monster that were not easily found in the wild, and Alex didn't know anything about this. Red direwolves often commanded other direwolves , so when the direwolves saw the gang of red direwolves die easily , they ran away in fear.

Thirty two minutes were left in the timer for the tutorial to end. Alex went near the dead wolves and used his dagger to neatly tear up the fur of the direwolf and the meat like he usually used to after a hunt, but this time he didn't have to carry it on its back instead he put the meat inside his inventory as it was still usable, he had already carried the makeshift spears to the top of the tree that way , so he didn't have any trouble putting it in inside his inventory.

Only one makeshift spear was left in the end so he decides to store it too , but it was bloodied up so bad. He stored it that way and the system showed a funny description, 'bloodied makeshift spear', so he decided to clean it. He still had fifteen more minutes left for the tutorial to end , so he jumped in the river , crossed it and used the dagger upon the other two direwolves that he had killed at first and then he had a good swim and cleaned himself up . He also cleaned the spear and the dagger too. He was waiting around on the bank drying himself till the tutorial got over.

Meanwhile in ApexGen Studios headquarters,

A task force assigned to monitor the game activity was heavily bombarded with system messages , someone had accessed into important quests at the beginning of the game , they entire team was sorting out whether a bug had happened , because most people had just finished their tutorial and started the game in the starter village .

"Sir someone has got the access to the quest #5389 and also have the qualifications to enter that area ", a nerdy looking man was explaining this in a haphazard way to his superior. The superior got perplexed when he heard the man utter these words. "But how can it happen , it has been only three hours since the game was released how can someone get qualified for that class quest wasn't it not supposed to get unlocked until level twenty and the area should get unlocked only after level fifty right".

"Sir , I asked Mathilda regarding this and she told that the user was able to obtain the title which grants access to the area by killing four red direwolves which were on a higher level with a level less than ten, but he won't be able to access the area until he finds an marked area to enter it, so I don't think it would be a problem till he reached level fifty sir. And as for the qualifications for the hidden quest , he went without any weapon to fight the direwolves and created his weapon to hunt down them at the end. So he got qualified for the class quest #5389."answered the nerdy looking man with a low tone. "How is it possible for someone to find red direwolves easily within three hours of the start of the game and kill four of them this fast and you also mean to say that same person was able to create a weapon in the starter village without any help within three hours of the game", the superior was suprised to hear it it was not a easy feat to create a weapon without the help of a blacksmith and this quest specifically activated until someone created a weapon without the help of the blacksmith who teached the trade.

"No sir , he created a makeshift spear out of a sturdy branch from a tree in the tutorial as he didn't select any weapon in the beginning and he hunted the four direwolves we created in the tutorial for scaring the users , so that they cross the river and fight the other direwolves. So he got qualified for both the quests sir."

"How was he able to create that perfect of a spear that the system recognised it as a weapon and marked it", the superior was really suprised as someone had to create a spear perfectly in order for the system to even consider it a weapon and just as the superior was about to ask the next question his phone rang and it was the video call from the director.

The superior hurriedly picked up the phone and welcomed the director. The director was a young guy around the age of thirty , but not more than thirty and he looked handsome like a cinema star. He looked straight into the eyes of the superior, " Mr. Henry I recieved a message from Mathilda regarding an individual who had activated two consecutively linked SSS quest simultaneously, did you look into it" . The superior nodded and explained what happened quickly to the director. " I want you to keep an eye on him and any such individuals who break the norms of humans and are interesting, please report me the character name of the unknown user after he selects a name , thank you". The director cut the call quickly as he had another call coming in his phone from his wife.

The identity of users in the game were well hidden from other users and the company and the secrecy was maintained completely by Mathilda , and if anyone attempts any hidden quest which may take more in game time than usual and may cause any harm to the body, only then an user's information was accessed to provide safety and health care to them incase of any trouble , with permission from the user . Two hours inside the game was only thirty minutes inside the game that is how the game time worked, and it looked pretty normal for the users like real life and this feature really shocked the users and they loved the game more, even beta testers were kept in the dark from this feature and everyone wondered how they integrated the feature into the game.

After causing all the trouble in the world , the trouble maker was sitting around enjoying the scenary of the tutorial. The tutorial slowly came to an end. Mathilda's voice echoed inside his head, "Congratulations! for finishing the tutorial with flying colors , you are now being sent to a starter village , which village would you like to go to?", and a huge map containing the seven continents of this world came into sight, but only one continent was unlocked for now ,all other continents were left as unexplored parts and the shape of the continents in this map were different than normal continents in real world , they were nowhere similar to each other. But Beom and Alex had made plans on which village to select first , so he chose the village of silver brook in . There were several more villages other than silver brook, but Alex didn't even bother to look at them . He saw the village of silver brook and he selected it without any hesitation.

He was quickly transported to the village town hall. It was a pretty good and huge village . It's buildings were pretty good. Alex was not the only player who had arrived there a lot of other players arrived there too.

"Tutorial completed , stats assigned for player, please open up the information tab and look into your information and also don't forget to name yourself, the name of an individual can be changed only once the entire game and there are special cases where you can change your name, if a name is not selected ,a random name will be assigned to you next time you log into the game", Mathilda's voice again resounded in his head .

Just as Alex tried to open up the status tab , a huge number of notifications bombarded his screen.
