Chapter one: Azure Moon. Broken spear.

"Leios-sama, are you awake?"

"Thank you Ekaterina, I am. Please tell my mother and father that the east front needs more troops before the assault on the capital."

"Yes sir.

Leios Helio, First son of the Leios familia and well known for his acts of defiance towards his parents. Though not everyone understands what these acts were, he first was leading a different strategy during the 6th crusade of the Leios familia, instead of the frontal assault his parents planned he diverged the enemies attention while secretly planting explosives near their base. His parents were both surprised and envious of how their son could be so much smarter than them, the familia is praised for their combat knowledge and how they use it but Helio, he is most likely the weakest link.

Well that's how most people see me, "The weakest Leios to exist" or "The Glass canon of the war." The nicknames never end. My familia is the sword of the Grand Kingdom, the main leaders of their advances in the war and the strategists as well. As children of the Leios familia we are expected to be the same.

Ekaterina sighed, "Leios-sama, please stop glaring at the food and eat it, your parents are waiting for you."

"Yes, yes." I say while stuffing my face.

The familia's household corridors are plastered with paintings of my brother as always, trying to cover up the "mistake" (being me), always attempting to make sure I don't ever appear. It might also be why they haven't found out how I've already captured the enemy's capital, Staedler, 3 months ahead of their plan, and how I'm so close to finding out how to control my dark magic. But as always they greet me with a glare.

Father glances at me, "Get in the carriage, the soldiers on the front line are awaiting your commands."

"Yes Father."

"Don't forget to make sure the rations are spread out." My mother reminds me.

"Yes mother." I say with slight annoyance

They don't even wave me off, instead they run back inside the manor and go to meet my siblings.

Hesitant, Kayden asks, "Leios-sama, are you sure it's okay not to tell them?"

"Yes, be careful with the horses Kayden."

"Yes sir."

Kayden is our familia's horse rider, he tends the stables with the servants and is always the one to pull the carriages. Though he is very reluctant to do much, he is in fact quite manipulative and can easily slip past your attention.

The ride to the enemy capital was not long, the view only made it past quicker. As I left the carriage I was also reminded of how I am regarded here.

"Leios-sama, thank you for freeing us!"

"All hail Leios-sama!"

"All hail!!"

These very words are echoed countless times by the people of the capital. Before we launched our assault the capital was a corrupted place, dukes would abuse their power to make sure they got everything they wanted while the poor starved. They would even buy off the judges in court and force the common folk to join their armies. Now that I've conquered it, the commoners now enjoy their day's tending to their families and having magic education for their children. I am also reminded of my frailness when I leave the carriage, almost instantly fainting from the heat and loud noises.

Kayden picks me up and hurries me to the stronghold, "Make way for Leios Helio!"

When we arrive I am relieved to see my knights well and healthy, they greet me as I wake up.

"Good evening Leios-sama, would you like some training to help you wake up?" Steia asked.

Jinn interrupts. "Hold on Steia, he just work up I think some magic healing would work better."

"I am fine thank you very much, how are the others doing?"

"Lin, Reinferd, Taos, and Shion are in the barracks. Oscar, Jake, and Luna are training the new recruits." Jin replies.

"Is that so? Well in that case I'll go scout the next battlefield."

"You should have some of us to back you up." Jin suggests.

"I am fine Jin, please."

Steid hurriedly replies, "Please take one of us with you, we don't want you to get hurt!"

"Alright! Tell Lin to grab her swords and meet me by point F."

"Yes sir!" They both reply as they leave my quarters.

"Now I can finally conquer my dark magic."

Cultivating Dark magic is difficult, not only is it completely different from other elements but it also requires you to have killed before. As I focus my concentration dark clouds form around me, enveloping me like a fog. The dark fog dissipates as I feel strengthened and imbued with a new source of power, it's as if I've entered a new realm of magic.
