The Super Mech System

As humans conquered the solar system, faster than light travel became a sought after ability to facilitate humanity’s expansion. However, upon achieving this, humans accidentally formed rips in space-time that opened up special Pocket Realms. These realms housed special planets similar to Earth, but they possessed hostile environments and dangerous, supernatural beasts with special abilities. Within each beast was a special crystal and as humans harvested these crystals, they utilised its special properties to construct the special synthetic life-form known as the ‘mech’. These mechs were nanotechnology suits, that bonded to a human host and acted as a thin, highly useful suit when activated. Technology advanced at rapid pace following this discovery, as mechs could provide humans with oxygen in low oxygen environments, heal injuries, amplify speed and strength by hundreds of times and much more. Humans soon created the genetic score that represented how easily a mech would bond to them as a host and how effective that symbiotic relationship would be. Those with higher genetic scores were lauded and rewarded for their talents, while those who weren’t as lucky were forced to settle at the bottom of society. Born into a small, working-class family, Alonso was born with an appalling genetic score of 0.11. As a result, he lived on mech-less, even past the Mech Adoption Age of 14, because it was too dangerous to let his body bond to a mech. However, he, gains a unique power, the super mech system. No longer powerless, he can now accomplish his dream of becoming a mech combatant! Although, he must navigate the challenges and obstacles of the insanely competitive mech combatant academy.

Secret Revenge

"Why would he be trying to take crystals?" Michael whispered to Alonso under his breath.

It was likely part of the hierarchy. Kai or someone of his level could easily defeat him and so, he needed to pick on someone weaker than himself to get some crystals back.

"Probably lost some crystals and now he wants to ge-,"

"What was that, you two?!" He asked, while his helmet manifested over his head.

It had a special horn and was black and silver. His horn was silver that scintillated under the beaming sun and it resembled a rhino.

"Let's get these guys!" A taller, lankier student said from behind him.

Two long blades manifested in his hands and he had long, ginger hair that was kept back in a ponytail. His mech was a dull grey, that resembled stone.

His helmet also manifested and the third person was already fully equipped in his mech. He was also of the bruiser type but was visibly slimmer than Maximillian was. His mech was a pale, lime green.

Whoosh!!

His two teammates rushed past him and the trio raised to their feet in reaction.

"I'll take Maximillian!" Alonso shouted to his friends, blasting forward with his turbo booster.

Michael used his turbo booster on the incoming green mech user. His attack hit the target but did little, and he was decked by the guy with a haymaker.

Alonso leaped forward and punched Max, only to land on his large forearms.

He weighed 300 pounds and so, his attack didn't move him back.

Alonso threw two more punches in quick succession, and blue energy thrusted him forward on each blow.

However, Max stood firm and steady.

He then laughed from behind his block, and leaned forward to land a devastating hook. Alonso fell back several steps, and shook his head upon receiving that attack.

Max then charged forward like a rhino, with his horn aimed straight ahead. His speed was surprising for his size, but Alonso leaped into the air to dodge his next attacks.

His turbo boosters elevated him further, but Max leapt up after him. Somehow, he nearly reached his top height in the sky and caught him in his descent.

"Got you!" He shouted, grabbing onto his leg.

'Damn it!" Alonso shouted, unable to free himself.

He dove down then forced Alonso downward, slamming him into the ground. The rough sandstone below them forced him back up and he bounced twice before coming to a stop.

Blood was already escaping from his mouth, but he remained resilient.

'If I had my golem arm, I could've wasted this guy by now!" Alonso thought, evading a punch that came for his face.

Max threw a wave of blows ahead, but Alonso relied on his energy shields to remain guarded. They weren't very large, but it only took minor adjustments to catch the punches coming for him.

He had good enough reading to literally catch the blows before they could hit him, and Max's anger was raising. Alonso was always the weakest and after getting destroyed by a stronger opponent, he wanted to let out his pent-up anger.

The fact that Alonso was holding his own made him even more furious.

Running out of options, he simply pushed himself up against the shields, confusing Alonso. He continued to push and waves of light emitted across the orange energy shields as he did so. His attempt at an attack was to no avail but then, he grabbed a shield and hurled it to the side.

Alonso's arm followed, and he smiled as he rushed past his guard.

POW!

Landing a punch to his face, his force and weight pushed the smaller fighter right over.

His physique was simply too imposing and there was little he could do to resist.

BAM!

Stomping his foot onto his chest twice, he coughed blood and grunted upon receiving these blows. He looked to his side to see Luciano and Michael struggling against their opponents. Michael looked to be significantly injured and he couldn't fight at range like he usually would.

His opponent was too fast and much larger than he was.

Luciano had great power but it wasn't much against his opponent, who matched his strength while not even being a bruiser type.

Alonso rose up to his feet and shouted as he relentlessly attacked Max. The large fighter laughed as he took his attacks. He was simply way larger than he was and had a higher quality mech than him. More and more fury was poured into each one of his attacks, but nothing changed.

"You think you can stop me?! I'll take your crystals whether you like it or not!! Boys, let's end this and get out of here!" He shouted, before grabbing Alonso's head.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Using his horn, he repeatedly slammed into his face. Several wounds appeared behind his cracked vice, and his eyes reflexively remained shut. He couldn't do anything to resist the blows. Grabbing onto his burly arms, they didn't budge under his attempt to push them away.

Max released his head and Alonso simply dropped to the floor.

"Mech Damage: Moderate."

'Why?! Why does it always end like this?' Alonso wondered.

He lowly growled under his breath as he watched Max, and held his torso up with his arms that were shaking under his own weight. In seconds, he simply dropped over and laid on his back, looking at the sky.

'Good.' Max said, turning.

Luciano and Michael were also on the ground, and their crystals had been removed.

'Let's go guys. Leave these guys to the minotaurs!" Max said to them, making them laugh.

"Yeah, let's go." The ginger student said, before they blasted away using their mechs.

Alonso kept looking at the sky, with his face covered with blood. He had an eye closed, and it was already starting to swell.

With his hands planted on the floor, he then pulled his hands shut and pulled up some sandstone in the process.

[New Quest!]

[Quest: Vengeance. Take revenge on Maximillian Di Vidal's squad and acquire your crystals along with theirs!]

[Rewards: 150XP]

'I'm going to kill those guys!!' Alonso declared.

The warriors simply sat there, all injured and broken down. The first to raise was Luciano, who had the best durability out of the three. His mech did a good job at absorbing the force of the strikes on his body, but he had still received a serious beatdown.

"I might just go back and get my mech healed." Luciano said with a defeated tone.

"Yeah, me too. I'll get something to eat if I can then come out." Michael said, while looking down at the sandstone below.

They didn't know how injured Alonso was from his black vice covering his appearance, but he also raised to stand with them.

"Okay. I'll stay out for a little while. I need to just think about some things." Alonso said with a darker, bolder tone of voice.

"Okay, sure. See ya." Luciano said, before jogging away at 60 miles per hour.

Michael promptly followed after him.

'Now where are those pests.' Alonso said, growing his new golem-sized arm.

'Here I come!' He declared, blasting away with the use of his turbo boosters.

'Only 47%. Looks like I'll have to make this quick then!' Alonso realised, in his sprint.

Maximillian held a scoundrel djinn by its neck and decapitated its head with a simple squeeze. With his mammoth hands, he simply ripped the beast in half by pulling and harvested its crystal before moving onto more targets.

Him and his friends were surrounded by dead beasts, and had numerous crystals from different targets.

'We might even rise to the top 10 after all these crystals!' The green mech user said.

'Haha, yeah. Alonso's team was too easy to defeat.' Max replied, making his teammates laugh.

Voom!

Hearing a mech, he looked up in fear of being ambushed themselves. However, he was surprised to see Alonso charging at them with an oversized arm.

'What the? I thought I nearly killed that guy.' Max wondered, watching him charge forward.

He continued charging forward at full speed, and didn't seem to have any intention of stopping.

Max hastily rushed into his stance but was too slow. He received a heavy blow from his massive fist after his full pelt sprint.

The force behind his strike dropped him to the floor and nearly knocked him out. He slowly moved his jaw with one of his hands, taken aback by the smarting wound he had incurred.

"Come on then!!" Alonso roared, making the ginger student rush into action.

"Get him, Hunter!" Max ordered.

Using his two katana-like blades, he dashed forward speedily and whipped one of his blades down for a slash.

Clank!

Sparks flew out as his blade caught his mecha arm. His swords were so sharp that they could even cut through mechs, but all that his blade did was leave a scratch.

"What?" He whispered, fearfully stepping back.
