Chapter 1Chapter I

Jenny stepped over a pile of boxes to get into her new bedroom. She and her dog, Chimmy, just moved into a new house and Chimmy seemed very happy with the move. "What do you think with our new house, Chimmy?" She asked.

"Woof woof!" Chimmy gave her a friendly bark and starts wagging his tail.

"Me too." Jenny went outside and took a box from the top of the stack. Being an adult is a suffering for her, because she has to do everything herself. That, however, is what makes her an adult.

"Happy Birthday Nini" Andrei and Kat greeted her. Jennie was surprised to see her friends, especially Andrei, her first love. Andrei had always missed her birthday since he joined their baseball team in high school. But she doesn't mind since she was head over heels in love with him.

"Thank you, but how did you know I moved here?"

The two exchange an awkward glance. It was Jenny's father who told them where she had moved, but only on the condition that they must not reveal who told them.

"Nevermind."

Jenny invited them inside and went straight to the dining room to get some plates. The two, on the other hand, made themselves at home in her small living room. "I miss the old days." Andrei sighed as he lay down on the couch. Winning three championships in a row, being awarded as the team's most valuable player, and when Ashley, the prettiest girl in school, became his prom date. Everything feels as if it happened yesterday to him.

"Me too." Kat replied, burying her chin in her pillow. Kat was an introverted, intelligent person. And, while she hasn't been open about her past, it's clear that she has some regrets over it.

"Did something happen between you two?" Jenny jumped into the conversation and gave them a baffled look while she set the plates down. They shook their heads and smiled at her as if they hadn't been hit by a wave of nostalgia.

"O-kay?" Jenny raised an eyebrow.

He opened it and was surprised to find some mementos from their youth.

Flashback. 10 years ago...

Love is ineffable.

That's what I learned after I fell in love with a badboy whose name starts with V.

My name is Jennie Ruby Jane, fourth year high school student. Ever since I was a little kid, studying has been my number one priority in life. I am the only child of my parents that's why they expect too much from me. Since I don't want to disappoint them, I always study hard to make them proud. Until one day, a mysterious guy named V barge into my life. I thought he was just one of those plain, boring and empty-headed guys I know, but I was wrong.

He was different.

"All of you to my office," Mr. Park said after some students were caught fighting inside the campus, including me. I wasn't really fighting. I was pulling or trying to break it up when I accidentally got hit on the face.

"Now!" He added in a suddenly changed tone. My eyes grow large with surprise and fright. I tried to look around and find a way to escape but then I remember V, the guy who saved me from the bullies who threatened me a while ago. The dean could probably get him suspended or worse he could expelled him for good.

But if I won't escape, I might get the same punishment. Ugh! This is the reason why I don't want to get involve in a fight.

"Who started the fight?" Mr. Park asked but no one answered. "You all have the guts to fight but doesn't have the guts to answer me." He exclaimed.

Minutes had passed still no one had the courage to speak out. He started to walk back and forth in front of us as he murmured softly to himself. Afterwards, he returned to his chair and give us our punishment.

"If no one tells me then, I'm afraid I'm going to have to let your parents know about what happened earlier, except for you Mr. Kim. I'm sorry but I have no choice but to expell you. You violated the school rules for the 12th time." He added and prompted the rest of us to go outside.

"But Mr. Park." I was about to explain his side-our side but V told me not to do so. He told me that he never gets in trouble that he can't get out of.

"Just go." He sighed.

I nodded and slowly turned my back to him. I went outside the office and suddenly bumped into my class adviser, Mrs. Park. I thought she came to scold me but instead she asked me if I was with "Vincent" a while ago.

I was about to shook my head but then I remember V. His name must be Vincent. "He was inside." I answered. "Is there anything wrong?"

"Thank you." She said and quickly went inside. I'd never seen her worry like that. Mrs. Park surely worry a lot but she didn't give in to the Panic.

Maybe they are related to each other I guess.

Out of curiosity I sat down on the ground beneath the window and slowly inched up the wall to peek in the window when I heard someone call my name. I turned around in the direction of the voice and saw Jungkook, my childhood bestfriend.

"what are you doing there?" I've been looking for you for hours?" Jungkook said while wiping his sweat from his soaking wet forehead. He isn't joking. He is really tired!

I stood up and went to him. "Mianhae." I said as I offer him my pink bunny handkerchief.

"Thanks." He smiled and slowly wipes the sweat off his forehead.

Jungkook and I had been best friends all of our lives. No Joke. His mom and my dad, who were bestfriends too even before we were born, introduced us to each other.

"Hey Nini." I was surprised when Jungkook called me by my childhood nickname that he invented when we were seven. "Do you remember your promise to me?"

"What promise?" I asked.

"Oh it's nothing. Forget it." He sighed and turned to walk away.

"No. I wan't to know ." I insisted.

"It's nothing, really. Let's not just talk about it "
