Chapter 9

"We are nowhere so good as at home!" I shouted joyfully, without worrying if the whole world had just heard me. When I entered the corridor, I immediately dropped off my luggage.

I missed our old house. Everything looked the same as we left. My parents had managed to bring a family friend once a week, to keep the house clean while we were all gone. I heard a growl behind me as I watched the others enter the house.

"Are you really obliged to scream like that?"We are not deaf, and you are starting to give me a headache, "snored Liam, dramatically rubbing his head as if someone were hitting him on the head with a hammer. I rolled my eyes at his words.

Indeed, I had already gotten used to this for a while now. "Can you really blame me? We were stuck in this flying machine of death for hours and I couldn't fall asleep." I pouted, looking at him with the innocent air of a beaten dog. He gave me a mischievous look, knowing very well that I had not slept on the plane and that I had taken the initiative to annoy as many of them as possible. He being the easiest target.

"I agree with Liam on this point, sis. Have mercy on all our souls when you are the Goddess of the Moon," Brandon teased me with a mocking smile on his boring face. I sighed as I crossed my arms on my chest, looking at my older brother.

"You should keep in mind, dear brother, that I can unleash my anger on you if you don't stay on my side," I said with a corner smile, trying to appear innocent as I continued: "But for now, I'm going to stop there. I smiled joyfully when he was suddenly soaked in water from head to toe. I burst out laughing when I saw the head that he had now, when he looked at me with anger because of what I had done.

"Listen, I totally agree to make pranks on Liam, but does it have to be the water from my bottle the second I need to drink a sip? ", complained Charles while spilling his water bottle now empty, to show that it was indeed empty.

"Oh, come on! You know that it was used much better by Brandon," yelled Ryan, pushing Charles with his shoulder.Charles growled and jumped on Ryan by placing him on the ground. I was still laughing hysterically at everything, crouching on the floor while holding my stomach. Everyone around us was laughing with me, and Brandon decided to join the other jesters, which made the other two wet too. The only one who didn't laugh was Bernard, who shook his head and mumbled that we were all like children.

"Says the one who has a crisis every time he doesn't get what he wants! ", said Jospin, and instantly another wrestling match began between the two. Very quickly, they separated, smiling and teasing each other.

"Well, we're going to bed. Good night everyone!" said Ryan, which led almost everyone to do the same. Soon, there was only me, my parents, Jospin, Bernard, Charles and Mimi, since my parents showed everyone where they were going to sleep. Finally, I stayed alone in the kitchen. I took a drink and filled it with water, thinking about how tomorrow's day would go. I had kept in touch with Domi and Chloé and apparently, Domi was preparing a surprise for me when I arrived.

But all that worried my head much more was my reunion with Edmond.

I shook my head, knowing that I was thinking too much about everything right now. I was worried about nothing, well not so much for nothing, but that's not the question. It was already eight hours past, but I continued to feel anxious, so I decided that a race would do me good. I quickly ran to the stairs and told Ryan through the door, so as not to have to witness the unpleasant scenes. He said okay and reminded me to change the color of my fur.

It was one of my abilities that allowed me to change, but it had a disadvantage: I could only change the color after I turned into a white she-wolf. Therefore, it prevented me from changing in front of anyone who did not know my secret. When I went out, I ran to a large tree and got rid of my clothes. I placed them carefully near the tree before transforming. I shook my fur, appreciating the feeling of being in my true shape. I almost never had the opportunity to stay like that, because it was too dangerous, wherever I was. Quickly, I allowed my fur to take on a silver color, close to my white color, but without arousing the suspicions of those who saw it. It was no longer the Snow-white fur, which had blue luminous swirls moving on my shape.

I stretched my limbs before running, without worrying about the time I had spent running or where I was going. I stopped when I heard the sound of the water flowing. I got closer to the sound before seeing a river and started following it. Quite quickly, I reached a beautiful lake. The light of the moon flickering on the water, which reflected the perfect amount of light that colored the evening. I was even more shocked when I saw the flowers surrounding the lake. They were not normal flowers. These flowers were shining. It didn't make sense, but frankly, I didn't ask myself questions for too long.

I approached the flowers, watching them joyfully and simply enjoying this moment of peace and tranquility. No constraint, just total freedom to be me.

Finally, almost after a while, I decided it was worth it better that I start to go home, but I immediately stopped when the hair on my neck stood up. I lowered myself to the ground, ready to throw myself on anyone or anything wanting to attack. I listened carefully, trying to find what was there, but there was nothing. No movement, no sound. It was silent and that's what made me nervous. I could feel that something was there, watching me. I decided to go back, while remaining on my guard in case this thing decided to attack me.

I started walking carefully towards the house, still feeling this invisible presence near me. I tried to sniff the air several times, but without success, until I finally got a smell. I knew I had already smelled this smell before. The Ancients had taught me that all creatures had a distinct smell and I made sure to know each of them. I kept trying to dig my head to find out who this smell belonged to, then I finally understood.

A vampire!

Instantly, I became nervous, fearing that this person would know who I really was. I knew it was highly unlikely, because I was not in my natural wolf form, but fear still won me over. The Ancients had taught me that although vampires have a bad reputation, most of them were actually very nice and had no connection with other species. However, I did not dare to lower my guard until I finally arrived home. I took my clothes in my mouth, quickly climbed the steps and managed to open the door. I refused to change outside with a vampire watching me. When I closed the door behind me after putting on my clothes, fatigue finally hit me. I yawned as I went up the stairs to go to sleep.

"Belle, get up! It's time to go to school!" I heard someone scream before moaning in pain after someone threw himself at me.

"How much do you weigh? ", I teased Mimi by pushing her away from me. I heard a dull noise and a cry of pain. I giggled as I looked over my bed to see it spread out on the floor. She gave me a finger of honor before getting up and leaving the room. I laughed and got out of bed to get ready for the day. I tried not to let my mind wander over the person I was going to see, knowing that I would end up being too nervous to leave the house. When I finished showering, getting dressed and doing everything I had to do, I took my bag and went down.

Everyone was already downstairs, eating happily. The only exception was my parents because they had to go to their new job early in the morning. I sat on one of the stools and served myself the food.

"Ready for school? ", I asked between two bites, smiling when they all gave me black eyes. No one among us wanted to go. On this, no one answered. They all continued to eat. I pouted before we all giggled and finished eating.

"All right, let's go, guys! ", ordered Jospin, as if he were a general of an army I rolled my eyes, taking my bag I went to our motorcycles. My parents had given them to us as a gift. My brothers and their companions got into a car and immediately left. We followed them.

Soon, we arrived at school, quickly finding a parking lot. All the others started heading from the parking lot to the main entrance while I was trying to calm down. They all knew why I was stalling, so they didn't push me. I took a deep breath before finally getting off my motorcycle.

I went to them and we started to get closer to the main entrance. While we were walking, I immediately spotted Edmond and his friends, noticing that they were all looking at me. I quickly found his gaze, which instantly fixed on me. He was happy to look at me, with a huge smile on his lips. My heart warmed when I saw this, but anger invaded me at the thought that someone had told him that I was dead.

As we were about to pass by them, I was startled when I was attracted to a large chest by strong arms that quickly enveloped me. Through the tingling I felt, I knew it was Edmond.I wanted to stay like that forever, but this moment quickly flew away when I was torn out of its grip. I heard Diane moaning in my head for her companion, wanting to be close to him again.

"Don't touch her! ", Liam growled at Edmond, pushing him away. Edmond growled with anger at Liam, but the latter

i no longer paid attention to him, because all the others began to drag me inside to get me away from him. I looked at him one last time over my shoulder, leaving a little smile on my lips. He immediately noticed it and it was as if he had just won the lottery with that big smile.

Once inside, we went to the office to pick up our schedules. By comparing everyone's schedules, I saw that I had almost all the classes to take with one of them. We all had lunch together, so I didn't have any free time during my chemistry and math classes.

Our first class was biology and I had it with them, while Mimi had history. I enjoyed some aspects of the hello history but not everything. We said goodbye and headed to the class.

When we entered, everyone looked at us. I recognized almost everyone in the class and the memory that I had them was not exactly pleasant. We talked a little with the teacher and learned that there would be a test right away. The boys were immediately out but I volunteered to take the test.

The teacher accepted and handed me the paper before warning me that it would be difficult. I rolled my eyes and quickly found a place. I heard many whispers when I took my seat, but I ignored them all. I didn't need to listen to what they had to say about me.

Soon, the teacher allowed us to start. While reading the first question, I smiled with a mocking air, and I easily answered. Even if I was with the Elders for more than a year, this does not mean that my parents left our studies aside. The Elders had managed to find us a very good tutor, who taught us everything we needed to know.

A quarter of an hour passed and I put down my pencil after I finished writing that easy test. I looked around, expecting to see other people finish, but I was shocked to see that most were still on the first page. I got up from my desk, attracting attention by handing my paper to the teacher.

"I've finished. Can I leave? "I asked, ready to leave and catch up with my team. I heard some laughter behind me and some comments on how I failed and gave up. I ignored them and watched how the teacher read each question.

"I am quite impressed, Miss Johnson , you answered all the questions correctly. Well done. You can go," said the professor with admiration, depositing my paper and giving me permission to leave. I stopped by the door when I heard a familiar voice behind me.

"It's nonsense! She didn't even take classes!" As I turned around, my eyes met those of Blaise, Edmond's friend and third commander of the pack.

"And yet, I know more than you," I said before leaving the class. Blaise has never been one of my main tyrants, yes, he got involved when it came to insults, but never further than that. When I entered the hallway, the boys were already waiting for me.

"Let me guess... 100%? ", joked Jospin by throwing an arm over my shoulder. I laughed while walking with them, while they were talking about a movie. I checked my schedule to see the next course, and it was Chemistry.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any of my friends with me in this class. I told the guys that I would join them later and I decided to go to the bathroom. When I finished, I walked through the corridors until the time of the next lesson.

I arrived a little late because I realized that my class I was supposed to attend was on the other side of the school. I came in quickly, apologizing for being late, then I stopped when a familiar smell struck me. It had the same smell as last night.

The vampire…
