Chapter Twelve : Recovery

Prissy was taken to the hospital after which her father filed a report at the police station about what happened at the party.

After thorough examination the doctors confirmed that she was raped as there were bruises in her private area, they also informed them that Prissy was drugged with a very strong drug which could affect her mental health.

When Prissy's mother heard this she burst into tears, Angelica tried consoling her while holding back her own tears.

She couldn't believe that something like this actually happened to her best friend it was just too much for her to take.

True to what the doctors said, Prissy woke up three hours later With aggression.

" leave me alone, let me go!! " she screamed as her eyes were bloodshot.

Her mom tried to comfort her but all to no avail, it was not until she was injected did she finally calm down.

As for Prissy's mother Seeing her daughter in this state really broke her, she couldn't believe that something as bad as this happened to her only daughter!

Due to her condition Prissy was unable to write her final examinations as they were already around the corner when the incident happened.

Angelica who wrote the Examination didn't do well as she was always worried about Prissy and couldn't concentrate on her studies.

Even though she was a little Sad about it she didn't let it get to her hopefully she and Prissy would both write , Pass and Gain Admission into the Same University the following year.

Prissy on the other hand went through Therapy for Six months due to her mental state and by the end of that she was better but her hate for men still knew no bounds but luckily this was with the exception of her Dad.

When Edward about what happened to Prissy he felt sad and wished he was there with them maybe he could have prevented what happened.

" I really feel bad for Prissy " He sighed.

" Same here I can't get her out of my mind. " Angelica said.

" it's my fault if I was there maybe this wouldn't have happened, am really sorry " He replied Depressed.

" You don't have to be sorry, Don't blame yourself for this as it's no one's fault Alright " Angelica Convinced.

" okay, how is she doing now? " He asked.

" She's doing fine, she just finished her therapy and should be back to normal soon " Angelica assured.

" That's good to hear " Edward was relieved.

" yeah, what about you, how are you coping? " Angelica asked.

" Am doing fine there's nothing to be worried about " He said.

" oh! okay I'll have to go now I promised Little Prissy that we'll go shopping by four so "

" No prob, bye have fun shopping "

" Bye " Angelica said and hung up.

As Prissy's birthday was in a week's time the two families decided to celebrate it in a grand way as she would be turning sixteen.

Prissy's Mom, Angelica and Little Prissy were in charge of the Preparations.

The day for the birthday Party soon came and as Prissy and her Dad got back from the Mall she was shocked when she realized that their house had been turned into an Halloween Center as it was decorated beautifully with different colors and pictures of her.

Still in her shocked state she turned to her mom and asked her what was happening.

" what's happening here mom? What are we celebrating? " She asked curiosity.

" Silly, it's your birthday " her mom replied Smiling Brightly.

" Birthday? " Prissy asked confused.

" Don't tell me you've forgotten about your birthday too? " her Mom.

" Oh No! I almost forgot that am sixteen today! " Prissy Exclaimed.

" yes you are my darling sweet sixteen " Her mom said Happily.

' Sixteen but have long losted my dignity ' Prissy sighed inwardly.

" Happy birthday Bestie " Angelica Announced as she Approached Prissy and Pulled her into a tight hug.

" Thank you " Prissy said touched.

" You Welcome Bes " Angelica replied.

" Happy birthday Namesake " Little Prissy Exclaimed as she Jumped on Prissy.

" Thank you " Prissy said as tears streamed down her face.

" Ssssh , Don't cry Prissy smile be Happy it's your birthday after all " Angelica Consoled.

" True , thanks for the reminder " Prissy Smiled through the tears.

" You don't have to thank me alright " Angelica Said.

Turning to her parents

" Mom, Dad, Angelica , I know I failed you , am sorry for hurting you and am very sorry , can you please find it in your hearts to forgive me, am deeply sorry, Can you please give me one more chance to prove myself? " Prissy Pleaded with tears in her eyes.

" Stop Crying Prissy we are not angry with you as it's human to make mistakes always remember that you are loved and Needed " Her Mom Consoled.

" Thanks, I really appreciate your love and care for me " She replied emotional.

" Don't be silly You deserve more than this " Her Dad interrupted.

" Prissy let's go cut the cake before the cat Does " Angelica Joked and they all laughed.

She was Dragged to the Dinning table where the Cake was, Prissy was happy and blessed she never espected this amount of care and love like this after what happened she felt so lucky, Right there and there as she blew out the candles she Made a Promise to herself that she would make Her parents Proud of her and she will become the best Version of herself.

After the Party Angelica and Prissy Excused themselves as they went to the lobby to discuss.

" How are you feeling Presently Prissy? " Angelica asked.

" I am feeling overwhelmed but don't worry am fine " She replied

" Are you sure? " Angelica asked not convinced.

" Yes " Prissy Assured.

" You said so, Any plans for the future? " Angelica asked.

" Yep, am planning to take on the final examination taking place in Four months Time " she said.

" oh! that's great, you have to start your preparations soon " Angelica adviced.

" I'll what about you? , I heard that you didn't pass the exam last time. " Prissy asked.

" True, I didn't meet up with the cut off mark for Medicine " she replied simply.

" so sorry about that, I hope it's not because of me? " Prissy asked feeling guilty.

" No it's not, I wasn't Very prepared for the Exam so... " Angelica replied, assuring her

" Anyways I think it's a blessing in disguise though as we will be getting admission to the University the same here " Angelica said.

" That's true " Prissy replied in agreement.

" How about Edward, have you heard from him lately? " Prissy asked.

" yes, about two weeks ago he was very worried about you when I told him about what happened" Angelica replied.

" oh! I think I'll have to speak to him soon to assure him that am alright then " Prissy sighed.

" Hmmmmn , oh! I almost forgot my mom asked me to accompany her to the market to buy groceries as it's groceries day, am sorry but I'll have to get going " Angelica informed.

" oh! it's alright " Prissy assured.

" okay I'll ask little Prissy to keep you company is that alright with you? " Angelica asked.

" yes it is, I guess we've got to catching up to do " Prissy replied Smiling.

" okay bye " Angelica waved leaving.

" Bye " Prissy replied as she waved back.
