A New Way to Train

Staring up in bewilderment, Instructor Summers was at an utter loss for words. She had never heard of such an absurd concept but with the evidence presented before her, denial was not an option. Even with the change being so little in the overall view of things, where would this man stand in a year's time? In a decade, he could change the flow of power on an atomic level. Coming back to her senses, a mildly playful side surfaced from deep within her.

"What now then? Going to go find yourself a girlfriend to grow stronger or are you just going to become some playboy with only your future in mind?"

For a moment, Joe was taken back. After a moment of deliberation, he still couldn't think of a moral yet viable answer to give her.

"What do you think I should do? I'd rather not string others along just for my own benefit but with what I intend to do in the future, a girlfriend isn't exactly a better option. Chances are, I will be dead within the next five years after all."

"Why do you think you'll be dead in five years? You have the potential to match an entire nation's strength on your own."

"What do you think those nations will do once they hear about my growth potential?"

With a dark cloud looming over his head, Joe waited for the realization to sink into the head of this naïve woman. When it did, he say the panic flood into her body. With such a potential threat, no nation would sit idly. Worst case scenario is an all-out war with the soul objective being his elimination. Best case, assassins were sent to infiltrate his life. "Now that you understand, I am open to suggestions."

Instructor Summers began to run through several ideas. Most of which she deemed as being to high risk. Others, played on the moral boundary Joe seemed unwilling to cross. That was until she realized there was one, he had already crossed. With this thought cemented in her mind, she became fidgety and unable to meet his eyes. After thinking of what risks would come with it, she made up her mind. With slightly reservation, she attempted to look into his eyes but shied away just at his face.

"What if, I continue to help you? We already crossed that line just now and I already know your secret. This is probably the safest option for you."

"What would happen to you if we were found out? Did you think of that or were you just concerned about me?"

Joe held himself back from immediately agreeing. He was more than just a little worried that this naïve girl hadn't even considered her situation before his.

"I'd likely lose my job but that would be the absolute worst of it. Despite knowing that, I still want to help you...or do you not want my help?"

A slight pause in her speech ended up changing her whole demeanor. She didn't know why, but the thought of rejection here actually upset her. Realizing it had upset her, she became even more confused about her choice. She had always focused on training herself and never even once consider an intimate interaction with a man. Perhaps it was the idea of being rejected on her first try that truly terrified her.

"If you've thought it through then I'll gladly accept your help. As much as I'd enjoy getting started right away, I don't think this is the most appropriate place to do this sort of training. The dorms come to mind but that would raise to many questions. Especially on the first day of the semester. Got any ideas?"

With a hand on his chin, Joe began running different locations through his mind. Going off campus was technically an option but if anyone decide to check the logs then they could eventually piece them together. There was also the risk of another student, staff, or relative recognizing either of them which would have the same outcome.

"We can use my office. I'm a new instructor so it's nothing grand but it should serve the purpose we need. If somebody comes by then we can always play the attentive student card and say you were seeking additional guidance."

After finishing her proposal, the implication of the concept sunk in. Her face instantaneously turned a bright shade of crimson. 'This is almost like those so-called extra credit scenarios I read about in my free time.' Her thoughts were in the beginning stages of a full-on rampage when Joe pulled her back to reality.

"I like that idea. With a closed door, we would have enough time to separate and the risk of getting caught is minimal. Let's head there now."

Unaware of the thoughts assaulting her psyche, Joe turned and began walking to the exit of the training field. After a couple steps, he realized he had no idea where her office was. "How about you lead the way. I still don't know how to get to most areas on campus.

"You seem a bit eager to get started. What, did the thought of getting you teacher alone excite you that much? Guess that can't be helped. You are at that age after all." With a slight sigh, Instructor Summers clicked on the screen of the watch like item strapped to her wrist. A few more clicks and she began making her way out of the training field.

"I sent you directions to my office. We've been out here all day so go eat and shower. No matter how strong your body is, sickness can still find its way to you. Last thing I need is you to get sick and then pass it to me. We'd get found out almost immediately after that."

With her statement finished, Instructor Summers exited the field and disappeared from Joe's sight.
