Memories of the Unfavorable

As Imogen was walking out of the cave, she felt the guilt of killing the unborn mosquitos weigh on her heavily.

 "I shouldn't have done that, why do I always have to kill everything I look at." Said Imogen full of regret.

 "I don't know-" Imogen tried to say, but was interrupted by a system message

*System Notice: You've slain a Broodmother Mosquito!

*System Reminder: You've slain one hundred and thirty seven Evolved Mosquito Eggs - you level up.

 "What the fu-, godarn you system you almost made me break my vow to my mom!" Said Imogen, boiling with rage.

 "Not only are you rubbing in the fact that I killed one hundred and thirty seven unborn creatures, you're trying to get me to break the only promise I made to my mom before she died!" Said Imogen hysterically.

 "You are a waste of existence, I wish you would just go and erase your pointless life!" Said Imogen, barely calming down.

 "If you could even be called one of the living after what you just did." Said Imogen, eyes bulging.

 "You're a... you're a.... I'll think of something eventually, just you wait; when I say what I say you are quivering in fear!" Said Imogen not noticing the human that just lifted her up.

 "Screech!" Said Imogen trying to actually talk.

~~~
 "Never mind students, this isn't a Common Forest Tick; it's a Hysterical Screeching Tick." Said a professor in a contemplating tone.
 "I must be getting so old I can't tell the difference between the two most common ticks in the whole forest." Said the professor.
 "Now can anyone tell me how to handle a Screeching Tick, how about you Tiberius."
 "Ugh, Screeching Ticks carry a lot of diseases; so to "properly" handle one you have to immediately put them in your research container." Said Tiberius as the professor handed him the giant dog sized tick.
 "Very good Tiberius, now could you tell me how you visually tell the difference between Common Forest Ticks and Hysterical Screeching Ticks?" Said the professor happily.
 "Hysterical Screeching Ticks have furry legs, while Common Forest Ticks have carapace covered legs." Said Tiberius feeling bored.
 "That's right and if you see here this one has... carapace legs?" Said the professor, confused.
 "This one must either be a mutation of the Hysterical Screeching Tick, or a new tick entirely; with the former being most likely." Said the professor, intrigued.
 "This is a very rare discovery in either case and we, ouch!" Yelled the professor dropping the tick.
 "There was a lot of force in that one simple bite, this might be the tick that the adventurers warned us about." Said the professor with caution.
 "Could someone heal me, my hand won't stop leaking blood no matter what I try."
 "I'll heal you professor" Said a student as she healed the professor's hand.
 "It doesn't look dangerous professor and if we secure it, just imagine how many gold coins we'd all get." Said Tiberius excited
 "That does seem like a smart idea. Come students, we have a change of plans for today." Said the professor greedily.
~~~

 "It looks like my day just keeps on getting worse and worse, it's just my luck that a bunch of freelance college students would be chasing after me." Complained Imogen.

 "I guess I could just kill them, but I don't want anymore regrets for today." Said Imogen with her mind almost made up.

 "I don't think I would regret it too much, but they seem like freelancers and I don't want to kill any of my ilk." Said Imogen, curious about what she should do.

 "I think I could kill the professor and... Tiberius, what the hell kind of name is that by the way." Chuckled Imogen as a system message popped up.

*Quest Three: To survive, death is priority, so kill the humans chasing you; and accept your new life

 "What!" "There's no reason for killing them, I could just run away instead!"

 "Though, now that I think of it, are they really any different than all the other bugs I've killed?" Pondered Imogen, on the verge of an epiphany.

 "Honestly, I don't see a difference." Admitted Imogen as the realization caused her to stop dead in her tracks.

 "I cannot and will not stay weak, my fate should be mine to command, not some god's; or a fat king's that will never leave the comfort of his own castle." Snarled Imogen as she filled with determination.

 "I will kill all of them without regret, I owe myself that much at least; for they are no different than the bugs that walk upon the ground." Scowled Imogen while preparing to make another regret filled choice.

~~~
 Imogen jumped at the nearest human and crawled up to his neck, nearly toppling him because of her weight. She then bit into his jugular and ripped off as much flesh as she could when doing it.
 As the human tried to stop the blood from flowing out of his neck, Imogen jumped onto another human. This human was a lot more troublesome and repeatedly tried to pull off Imogen as she was crawling up her stomach, but eventually Imogen's weight knocked the woman over, giving her an opening.
 Imogen bit into the woman's jugular, and ripped out a good bit of flesh; this human died only slightly faster than the last one did.
~~~

 After a lot of killing only the professor was left, he took one look at Imogen and ran. Imogen, not wanting all these deaths to have been for nothing, chased after the old man.

 "That old man is fast, I'll give him that; but he's not fast enough." Said Imogen, gaining on the man.

 When Imogen got close enough she jumped onto the man's back and started to crawl up it. The professor was toppled by her extreme weight for her size, this promted him to start screaming. He rolled all over the ground and ripped his clothes off trying to pull Imogen off his back, but all he ended up doing was rub against Imogen's tough carapace.

 When Imogen finally reached his neck, the man had accepted his fate, and laid completely still among the soil. As Imogen ripped open his jugular, she looked up at the sky and wondered who she had become.

*System Announcement: You've slain 8 male and female humans - you unlocked the title system, you got the title - Heartless Bitch

 "I guess it fits me pretty well, what is my reward system?" Inquired Imogen, full of emotion; and void of emotion at the same time.

*Quest Three Rewards: 1 skill stone and 2 stat stones.

 "That's more than worth the physical effort of killing those humans, but it's not worth the mental effects of it." Said Imogen unsure of how she should feel.

 "I understand why people pick up vices now, not that I'm going to pick one up." Said Imogen, starting to feel tired.

 "I've got some things to do before I fall asleep, system, could you put the skill stone into Weak Pierce?"

*Weak Pierce: Now Weak Pierce 2.0

 "Also system, could you put my stat stones into defence and while you're at it bring up my status." Said Imogen it was a bit more of a demanding tone than usual.

 "Time for me to go into a deep slumber and to worry in the morning." Said Imogen finally drifting off to sleep.

~~~
 "Mom I know you will make it, you have made it this far and you can't stop now." Said Imogen distressed.
 "I know I won't make it, I can feel it in my bones; but you have to promise this old lady something" Said Imogen's mother.
 "If it will help you rest easy, then I shall do it; what do you want me to promise mom." Said Imogen worried.
 "I swore way too much in my youth, I think it was the cause of all my problems actually and I-" Tried to say Imogen's mom, but she was cut off by Imogen.
 "Don't be ridiculous mom, you aren't a superstitious person." Said Imogen even more worried.
 "Don't you dare cut me off, it is just a simple wish and my only one at that; hopefully you will be the caring boy I know you are and follow my last wish.
 "Said Imogen's mom, slowly.
 "Goodbye my son." At that moment Imogen's mom passed from the world and joined the souls of the dead.
 "NO, doctors hurry up and fu- I mean save her!" Yelled Imogen desperately.
 "You doctors don't know what the hell you're doing, how could you let her die!"
 "You're all complete wastes of human life." Said Imogen crying.
 "You "sob" all planned "sniff" this from the beginning." Said Imogen watching her tears fall to the ground.
~~~

 Imogen woke up to the sound of night and the sight of the moon waning

 "Why am I plagued with the nightmares of my past, it never affected me this much in my last life." Said Imogen feeling heart wrenching pain.

 "I guess the reason for this is the same as everything else, life hates me." Said Imogen hysterically.

 "Life just keeps me along for the ride because it likes watching me suffer, why me? Said Imogen looking at the night sky.

 "Why me… that's all I ask; WHY ME!'' Said Imogen, head hurting.

 "I have to keep living though, mom wouldn't want me to waste this opportunity." Said Imogen fighting the desire to end herself.

 "I have to stay strong and keep living, if only for my mom." Said Imogen before going back to sleep.

I may have bitten into the fork, but I still like forks better though
