I Have Killed Enough

Shawn and Enilese were walking in silence . But for Enilese maintaining the extreme silence was too much , so she tried to start some conversation with him .

" Umm ...if you don't mind can I ask something ? " she said .

" Hm ..go ahead . "

" You don't live in the colony , so why were you going there ? Do you have any relative there ? "

Shawn replied , " No , I don't have any relative there . I just take this shortcut to my destination . "

" Shortcut ? "

" You have never been there , so you won't understand . "

" Oh . By the way how is the forest from inside ? I want to see. " Actually Enilese was really curious about the forest . She has never been there and the members of her base also didn't know . And she also wanted to know where this shortcut goes to .

Shawn thought for a moment and then said ," There is an amazing place deep inside the forest, it's not that there are a lot of things , just a serene river and the vast sky above , simply these two elements have created magnificent beauty there .....

" Yeah , I like nature's beauty more than anything . I tried to convince my friends to go there with me but they are not interested . "

At that moment Shawn's eyes caught some movement behind the bushes . A cold smirk appeared on his face . Then he heard Enilese say , " I think those creatures are behind the bushes . Let's hurry up . "

" Right " he calmly replied .

" You're still this calm ! Aren't you afraid of them ? "

" Why ? "

Even before Enilese could ask how , he said ," I have killed enough . "

Enilese got shocked . She stuttered , " You ...you ...are a .."

Enilese didn't say anything and continued to walk on silently .

Some times later Shawn looked at her and said , " When I told you I'm not a gentleman , I wasn't joking . But don't worry, I won't harm you unless I need to ."

With that they come to the main road . Dim street lights started to lit up by that time .

" Do you need me to accompany you anymore ? "

Enilese finally looked at him and again smiled brightly . She said , " No thank you . I would be ok from here . My friends would pick me up . "

Shawn just nodded . Enilese said , " I hope next time when we meet , it would be some better situation . "

" You hope for more meetings , I hope we never meet again . " , he lightly said .

" Umm , I really can't complain about your being a killer since you have helped me twice . So I definitely want to meet you more , maybe as a friend . "

Shawn started walking at the opposite direction , after walking some steps he looked behind where Enilese was standing . He saw that she was still staring at his direction . When their eyes met she waved goodbye again , he turned his gaze back to his front .

Enilese was standing alone , there was no one at that hour . Shawn was out of her sight now . Then she felt some change around her as if the surrounding wind has made a guarding layer around her . She didn't get afraid as the wind was mild and warm not chilly . She was thinking about what's happening when she heard a familiar voice behind her ..

" Enilese , who was the man you were talking to ? "
