Chapter 10: Leftovers!

Spotting the figure of the black-haired young man who stepped out of the convenience store, Thane, the middle gaged man, shouted, "Hey brat, hurry up! We have to go. The rain might stop at any time now! If zombies surround us, I will leave your ass behind!"

"Alright, alright! Chill out. I'm coming!" The black-haired young man replied in annoyance.

Vroommm!

Once he got on the back of the pickup truck, Thane immediately started the engine and went on their way.

There is no time to waste.

Once the rain stopped, the noise of the truck's engine would inevitably attract hordes of zombies. If that ever transpired, their fate would be uncertain.

Looking at the truck's receding silhouette, Ning swiftly emerged from the pile of garbages and barked at them ferociously.

Woof!

Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! (That's right, run! You bastard! Run! Even if you have a gun, I wouldn't even be afraid of you!)

Woof! (Humph!)

After a while, she stopped barking, feeling out of breath.

Ning cursed in her mind.

'Tsk, how dare they steal my treasures? I will make them paid in the future! Never looked down on a dog—what dog burglars! What scoundrel! I'm so angry!'

'Whatever, for now... I will just let it slide out of great generosity and benevolence.'

'Heh!' Ning smirked.

She threw the problem in the back of her mind and jumped into the water bucket to wash from the foul odor. While she was hiding, the piles of garbage have made her body dirty again.

'Now that I think about it, I wonder if they take the shampoos in the store...'

Thirty minutes later, Ning decided to go inside and rest as the downpour came to an end.

When she was inside, Ning quickly went around and looked for a few blankets and dried her body from the water. She was still a puppy and didn't want to get sick.

While drying herself, Ning sneezed.

"Achoo!"

'Oh damn, I guess I stayed outside for too long, haha—hahaha...' she thought but then sneezed again. This time, some snot coming out of her puppy nose, 'Oh no...'

'Damn it, can a dog take Tylenol?'

'Huh?'

While strolling inside the convenience store out of boredom, Ning saw some fresh leftover food in a few opened cans of meat and tuna.

'Oh my! What are these? Don't they know that it's not good to waste food?'

Taking a few sniffs at the leftover, Ning couldn't help but drool.

'Well, well, well, don't ya look at this, how wasteful! Hehe, I guess I will have to clean it up now. Can't leave messes like this in my house after all.'

Without further ado, Ning immediately dives in for a treat.

Her big puppy eyes lit up. It looked as if she had never had a taste of good meat in her life before. She was hungry.

Nom! Nom! Nom!*

'Hahaha, these are some good stuff! Yup! Definitely better than days-old cereals!'
