Greater Ottawa's Darkest Hour

Rothschild grinned to see the Ghost alone. For what he'd had planned, was far too good to let anyone interrupt.

"Rothschild..." The Ghost said as he entered his battle stance, being extra cautious not to allow him to pick up on the two abilities he had.

"Long time no chat, Ghost. I take it you're no fan of Canadians?"

"What do you want, Rothschild?"

"To repay you. You taking my arm was the greatest thing to have ever happened to me. So, as a token of my gratitude, allow me to return the favor." Rothschild kicks a woman out of the helicopter and has it slowly ascend into the air. The Ghost rushes over to check on her, only to find out it is his sister. His eyes tremble as her eyes open and she takes her talon like fingers and rakes them across the right side of his face and eye.

"CAREFUL! SHE'S A LIVELY ONE! OH AND WHILE YOU'RE AT IT! I THINK I'LL GO PAY DEAR OLD GRANDPA A VISIT!" Rothschild called out to the Ghost as he flew off towards Greater Ottawa laughing maniacally.

"Shit..." Stated the Ghost, eyes locked onto his sister.

"What's wrong, Ghost? This is no different than before, right?" Asked Lemuel.

"Yea... except there's one problem.... Grandma taught me never to hit a woman... Especially my own sister."

Before they could continue to speak, the Ghost's sister lunged at him . The Ghost dodged and booked it, launching himself towards Greater Ottawa.

"What are you doing?!" John said as he looked at the Ghost annoyed. However, the annoyance he'd felt was replaced with worry when he saw the look on the Ghost's face. It wasn't bloodlust, nor was it courage. Rather, it was a look of anxiety and a look one might even call fear.

"You're scared of your sister?"

"Not of her." started the Ghost, "Afraid of the things she can and will say."

"Why?" asked Lemuel.

"Because she spent the same years I was at war with my mother, idolizing her."

His sister tackled him out of the air, screeching at him, "YOU'LL NEVER HURT MOM AGAIN!" She planted him in a shallow crater, just before power stomping her foot directly onto his chest. The two vestiges tried to get him to at least block her attacks to no avail. However, he managed to shoot himself away from her before a memory caught him off guard.

He was standing in the house his grandparents lived in, his grandma laying on her deathbed. Her words came out silently but his eyes showed he understood them. "Tell her everything." The Ghost fired up both Differential and Transfer Case. He launched himself airborne then fired his gauntlets' grappling hooks and wrapped them around her.

"YOU ARE GOING TO HEAR MY SIDE OF THINGS! EVEN IF IT MEANS I END UP IN PAIN!" Yelled the Ghost before flinging her towards Greater Ottawa.

Meanwhile, the Greater Ottawan were in a panic all trying to keep Rothschild away from Archie. Barbara and the Busch Hunter kept him on the move, having Rothschild chase them all over the city.

"Jesus, lord, have mercy upon us." Said Barbara as the Busch Hunter unleashed the power of his Vortec-Powered Truck.

"Hey, if you're done praying, start shooting." Said RJ as he opened the center compartment and handed Barbara a pistol. The Chevy pickup drifted around a corner and hauled towards Veterans Bridge with a hulking, rage-roid looking Rothschild rampaging after them.

"Don't you worry Archie, your Grandson put us in charge of playing keep-away. He won't get to you."

The Silverado roared across the bridge as Rothschild ripped through the GOBS that had been there to slow him down. The entire city should've been assisting in keeping Archie away from Rothschild, however Rothschild hadn't come alone. He had brought with him the New Order Five. They were five metahumans he'd dubbed "his elite villains" and they were engaging all of Greater Ottawa.

Rothschild was rapidly gaining on the Dodge truck as Barbara and the Busch Hunter tried their best to keep him away. "HOLD ON! I'm taking Trumbo Road. Let's see if this cocksucker can keep up!"

As the Busch Hunter's truck slid onto Trumbo Road, the Busch Hunter stuck his head out the window as Barbara held the wheel. "HEY JACKASS! LOOK OUT! CUZ IT'S GOOOOOD AFTERNOON AMERICA TIME!" As he pulled his head back in, he slammed his foot down on the gas pedal. That Silverado's engine roared as the green Chevy from the early 2000's ripped down Trumbo Road's winding curves and headed for Marseilles. The speedometer kept climbing, seventy, eighty, ninety, one-hundred, one-ten, one-twelve... As the truck flew across the Marseilles bridge then up the hill, Rothschild growled. He needed to have the old man before the Ghost could catch up.

"Child, head for Morris Blacktop! It's a straight-away, you'll lose him there."

The Busch Hunter looked at his speedometer, then at the rapidly approaching turn. He grinned. "STRAP IN! WE'RE GOING OFFROAD!"

The green Silverado ripped into a field then jumped a culvert onto Morris Blacktop gunning it away from Rothschild, who was running on all fours just to have a hope of keeping up. At the same time, Major Scott and General Allen's forces were on Morris Blacktop heading for Greater Ottawa when the green Silverado and the science van caught up.

"MAJOR! TAKE THESE BRIEFCASES!" Yelled out Dr. Sue's wife. "She made them for you and Archie!" A private grabs the cases as the van swerves out of the way of the speeding Silverado. The Major speeds up his humvee to find the Busch Hunter, Barbara and his dad in it.

"WHAT'S GOING ON?"

"ROTHSCHILD'S BEHIND US!" yelled the Busch Hunter

"WHAT?" Scotted replied, as the wind was too loud for him to hear RJ

"ROTHSCHILD IS...."

Rothschild slammed down into the ground before them, launching the Silverado and the Humvee airborne, careening into the ground. Scott kicked the door off the humvee disoriented. However, the sound of a twelve-gauge shotgun going off in rapid succession got him to his feet. The Busch Hunter was firing dragon's breath at Rothschild, blinding him with every shot. Scott went to reach for the briefcase he'd been given but found his to be smashed under the roof of the flipped humvee. He looked back over to the Silverado, he saw his father, Archie, pull Barbara from the truck wearing his armor. He rushed over to help.

"Dad, don't do this."

"Scott, you've had your chance with the Marine Corps. Let me help your son, my grandson. I need to do this. Stay here and tend to Barbara, I'll take on the menace."

"But..."

"Scott, your son needs you more than he needs me. Be father to him in the ways that I failed you." Archie stepped out into the open as the rest of the briefcase converted into armor.

"Looking for me, Tyrant Rothschild! WELL HERE I AM!"

Rothschild's grin turned sour as he was now not only facing a redneck with a dragon's breath twelve gauge, but now he had to face...
