: Starry Days

I woke feeling weird. The feeling of the bed was comfortable. Almost too comfortable.

I checked the time on my phone just in case I wasn't late for school and to my horror, I was indeed late.

"It's already 7:25."

I got up and quickly went to get dressed. I scrabbled around the closet looking for my uniform.

"Did they give me a uniform?! What am I gonna wear to school!"

I maniacally searched for some pants and shirts that looked like a normal school uniform.

The people that were putting luggage in my new, were very quick. But, I didn't have anything that looked like a school uniform.

Knock! Knock!

A sudden knock at my door surprised me since there weren't any visitors coming.

I went up to the door with my pajamas still on and peeped in the peephole.

"Hello, I am Lucas, the butler that was assigned to this room. Is anybody in there?"

Knock! Knock!

He knocked on the door louder than before.

'A butler! When did I get a butler?! Is this a prank!' As I pondered on whether I should open the door or ignore it entirely. I was reluctant to open the door, but at the same time this could be a real butler and I could get him.

It was too late as I heard a familiar voice call out to the butler. He turned and hurried over to the voice's side of the hall.

Click!

As soon as I heard the door closed, I scurried outside my door to see if I had a package with my uniform waiting for me in my little mailbox. Sure enough, it was indeed in my mailbox.

I got the package out of the box and dashed back into my room. I ripped open the package and inside was a white polo and a white jacket with yellow stripes everywhere, plus a plain black tie. I quickly started to change my clothes and put on my tie.

After all was done, I grabbed my backpack and dashed out the door. Not even a second after I got out of my hotel room, I bumped into someone.

Bam!

As I fell back down to the floor of the hallway, I heard the same familiar voice starting to cuss at me.

"Watch where your fucking going man!"

I looked and I saw the one and only Charlotte on the floor like the last time we bumped into each other.

"Felix, why did you bump into me again?"

I ignored her and started to get up and sprint down the hallway.

"Don't ignore me! Bastard!"

I pressed the button for the elevator and started to wait.

Ding!

As soon as it opened I dashed in and pressed the close button to speed up the process.

A hand suddenly reached out in between the doors and stopped it from closing. Charlotte then pushed me out of the way.

Bang! Bam!

Before I knew it, me and Charlotte were lying on the elevator floor next to each other while it went down to the first floor. I tried to say while gasping for air.

"Da-do yu-you tha-think w-we are go-going to be la-late?"

"Ma-maybe."

As I sat upright and stared at the ceiling, I pondered what the teachers will say if we were late.

"Ra-remember th-the contract ok."

"Ya, I know already." I said while slowly breathing in and out.

Ding!

The elavator door opens and a bunch of people are coming in and out of the hotel. I stood up and offered my hand to Charlotte.

"You need help?"

She reached and grabbed my hand. After I pulled her up, she gave me a smile, which made me blush a little.

"Alright, let's hurry, before we miss our first period."

"I agree with you for once."

We both dash out of the hotel building and ran through the streets. The school wasn't far from the hotel so we shoudn't be able to miss the first hour of school.

After minutes of running, we were out of breath at the entrance of the school and somehow we missed the first hour.

"Tha-this is a-all your fault, Felix." Charlotte said while gasping for air.

"Ya, ya, ya. You do you."

I tried to open the entrance to the school, but it was locked.

"We are gonna have to sneak in." I muttered under my breath.

I looked around the building and saw a window with a small hole in it. I peered inside and only saw a bunch of stuff around the cramped room, but I kept looking around the room.

I couldn't see much since I was outside and the hole was onlt big enough to fit half of my arm in.

"What are you looking for?"

Startled, I flinched at the sudden question.

"Da-don't worry about it." I replied, while sweating a lot.

A fact about me is that I sweat a lot when I am nervous, and right now I have a bad feeling about telling Charlotte my plan.

"You are sweating a lot. Are you ok?"

"Don't worry a-about it ok."

"You're hiding something aren't you?"

"Ma-maybe."

"You already know what I am gonna say, so tell me what you are hiding."

I turned my head trying to ignore her while still sweating buckets. I then hear footsteps coming closer, and once I turned Charlotte was extremely close to my face.

"Wa-what are you-"

"I order you to tell me what you are currently doing. I hope you didn't forget the contract."

"Tch. Stupid contract." I muttered under my breath.

"Are you gonna tell me or do I have to punish you?"

"What do you mean punish?"

"Never mind just, answer the goddamn question!"

I took a deep sigh and started to tell her my plan for us to get in the school…

"What?! You're trying pull the fire alarm in order for us to get in unnoticed!"

"Well, the doors are locked and I don't want to get marked tardy for the second day of school!"

"What about our backpacks?!"

"We can just say that we thought was gonna be a actual fire."

"Felix, this schoool is not like any other schools. This school has smoke detectors and as soon as they detect a big portion of smoke, then it will immediately activate the fire alarms."

"The authorities believe that their smoke detectors are so advanced that students and staff would be in trouble if they ever pulled the manual alarms around the school." She continued.

"Then why have manual alarms when you have automatic ones that are so 'advanced'."

"It is because-"

Before she could finish her sentence, the front doors opens as a old man walks out of it.

"What are you kids doing?! School already started and if you don't come in right now, then I would give you detention!"

Without a second thought me and Charlotte entered and ran towards our second class.

"And according to the text-"

Knock! Knock!

Me and Charlotte stand outside the door to our second class, Mr Anderson.

"By the way, I don't think I know your last name? May I at least know it?"

"You are a dummy."

"Maybe I am, maybe I am not."

"Don't get mysterious with me, we are of different rank."

"Giggle. We are."

"Sigh. It is Lithos. My full name is Charlotte Lithos."

"You have a interesting name."

"Don't butter me up, after all your still in Alice's and my hands. You can't charm us."

"Ya, ya, ya, what ever you say."

The door opens and Mr Anderson questioned why we were late. I told him that I overslept and I met Alice on the way to school. He let's us in after warning us to never be late again.

After a couple of hours, the school day finny ended. Even though I was late for class, I still had a pretty decent day. 'Finally, I feel a bit free from my middle school life. High school isn't as bad as I thought.' I felt a bit free from my middle school life. 'Before I came into Star Rise as a info broker, I was bullied for having no rank. I didn't want to be famous, but I didn't want to be unknown as well.' I kept thinking to myself while I walk out of the school's entrance. 'Still, I can't wait to continue this li-'

Beep! Beep!

I opened my eyes and a white ceiling greeted me. The beeping sounds of a cardiac event monitor filed my ears. Suddenly I remembered everything that happened on that afternoon…
