Chapter 9

Rosella runs into the bathroom and locks the door behind her, She drops her bag on the floor, runs towards the mirror and stares at her reflection. She felt very hot, as if she was in an oven. She bonds her hair into a ponytail and removes her jacket. Rosella bends and splashes water on her face before she is distracted by Christy banging on the door.

"Rose! Are you alright? Open up!". Christy says while banging on the door. Rosella sighs and looks at her reflection in the mirror smiling at her. She backs away from the mirror in fright.

Her reflection laughs, " Did I scare you? Well… it's about time we start our game don't you think. Rosella tries running out of the bathroom but realizes there door wasn't there anymore. "I thought I was dreaming" she says to herself in disbelief

Rok stood in front of her, "you weren't and the deal has been made so without anymore hesitations, let's get to our first game. The rules of my games are simple". Rok spoke as it strolled around her, "you have the option of playing one out of two games I'd offer to you each night until you have completed all ten games. Each game most be completed at the appointed time. If you refuse to do a game or fail to pick a game our agreement is void and your soul will return with me to hell. If you fail any game, well... I don't need to explain what will happen to you, do I?" Rok laughs hysterically.

"Wait you never said I can't back out", Rosella says to Rok with confusion and fear in her voice. Rok walks closer to her and whispers into her ear from behind, "You never asked" it says in a mocking tone before slowly stepping away from her, "you humans are honestly the dumbest creatures I have ever seen. How do you accept a deal without fully understanding the consequences? Well it's too late to go into that, the deed has been done and there is no backing out .

"So if I don't play, I die and if do play and lose, I die" Rosella says struggling to hide her fear. "That's right but the real question is…" Rok says slowly, as if trying to build the fear in her while it walks closer to her, It's red eyes shining brightly as it stands in front of Rosella. Their gaze fixed on each other, "how long can you last?" Rok whispers to her.
