Impossible Feat

Although she was one of the strongest teachers at the academy, only the teachers and the third and fourth year students knew her. When she stood up to welcome Clifford, he had a better view of her. "You're a shadow mage too, how were you able to open the door with your shadow element.?"

"You'll be able to do that when you reach the intermediate level." Feng Xin replied

"You are already at the intermediate rank! Wow!" Clifford exclaimed. He thought he was moving too fast in his cultivation, but here is someone who had already achieved the intermediate rank. Although he wasn't pressured by this, he decided it was time for him to breakthrough into the intermediate rank too. If the word should come about the cultivation level of Clifford and Feng Xin, it would cause a massive uproar in the academy. New Students are not expected to be as powerful as they were, that was why both of them had kept it a secret.

"Where are you taking us, Miss Lily." Clifford asked.

"Just follow me." She replied.

Clifford and Feng Xin didn't say anything afterwards, they just followed her.

After they had walked for about seven minutes, they arrived at another territory in the academy, this territory belonged to the water mages.

It was the Water element school.

Miss Lily led them both in to a lecture hall, the first year water mages were being lectured in the hall. A middle aged named Owen Marshall was the one teaching the mages, he was wearing a black suit and a black peaky cap, he wore glasses and had a tidy beard that was neatly trimmed. When he saw Miss Lily entered, his expression turned to an unpleasant one. He had suffered in the hands of Miss Lily in the past, they both had a disagreement few years ago which caused an uproar at the academy. The disagreement was later settled with a duel, he had initially thought he would defeat Miss Lily easily, but he lost miserably to her, she defeated him flawlessly.

Disagreement and confrontations between teachers was a common thing at the academy, it was usually caused by fights among the students. The teachers had to defend their prides and this often led to disagreements that would be settled with duels. The disgraceful defeat at the hands of Miss Lily had stigmatized the reputation of Mr Owen, he was always displeased at the sight of the young woman.

Miss Lily walked pompously on to the lecture podium, the boys were drooling at the sight of her beautiful and curvaceous figure. Even Mr Owen couldn't resist appreciating her beauty. Clifford felt like he was struck by a thunderbolt when he heard what Miss Lily had said, "Is she out of her mind!" He exclaimed. "How can we defeat all of them." Miss Lily had given them an impossible task.

The same thing was on the mind of Feng Xin.

The whole class thought they had heard her wrong, when she repeated her words, they all bursted into laughter.

Only Mr Owen saw this as an opportunity to return the humiliation he had suffered from her hands. If he couldn't humiliate her directly, her students would suffer for it.

"She would be humiliated when her students her defeated miserably." He thought gleefully. He quickly agreed to the challenge.

"Good." Miss Lily nodded and went to meet Clifford and Feng Xin.

"I know how strong you both are, and you Clifford, don't think you can hide your real rank from me. Now you both make sure you beat them all, I'm counting on you." Miss Lily said. She knew how strong her students were, this was how she had decided to teach her students. Experience is the best teacher, They would only get better when they had more combat experience, she would only give pointers that would help them greatly, she was too lazy to start lecturing students. To her, lectures was too boring, learning and gaining more experience during combat was more fun.

The water element mages still couldn't believe the two shadow mages had challenged them all. This was an insult to them, the shadow mages did not respect them at all. Anger was burning in their chest, they couldn't wait to pounce on the Clifford and Feng Xin.

Although it seemed like an impossible feat, Clifford wasn't afraid of the challenge, he just had to be accurate, fast and decisive with his attacks. Luckily, he had an almost endless supply of mana, so mana exhaustion wouldn't a problem for him.

Feng Xin also wasn't afraid to take on all of them, He was already an intermediate ranked mage. Although he did not underestimate any of the water element mages, they still looked puny to him. He did not wait until he was enrolled in to the mage academy before he started to cultivate magic, he had been cultivating a long time ago and this had given him a big advantage over the others, he had already achieved the second stage of the intermediate rank. He wasn't exceptionally talented, he was only able to achieve this through cultivating relentlessly.

Clifford on the other hand was exceptionally talented, he had thought he had no potential for magic but that changed when he met the old man on that fateful day. Now, he had the most frightening level of comprehension. Even if he didn't cultivate at all, his power would still continue to grow, but not rapidly.

News of the impossible challenge had already spread throughout the academy, many people had gathered at the combat arena to watch the duel. They were already aware of Clifford and Feng Xin's strength, but no matter how strong the two were, it seemed like an impossible feat for them to pull.

"Are they strong enough to defeat a whole element school?" Someone posted this question on the academy's gossip forum.

"Clifford and Feng Xin are crazily strong and they will manage to defeat a lot of the opposition but they will eventually get worn out and exhausted, this would be their doom." Another person replied.

"It's impossible for both of them to do something like that, the duel will be one sided in favour of the water element school."

"The shadow element school are definitely out of their minds."

"How will they pull something like that off."

"They've met their doom."

"I believe the two will beat them all, they definitely will." Benson said on the forum. He had saw the trending topic too, he didn't know why, but something kept telling him Clifford and Feng Xin will do the impossible.

He was attacked and insulted by many people, but he took his stance, "Clifford and Feng Xin will pull something incredible off. He was sure of it.
