Chapter Sixty Six
"What the hell is this?" Marvin mumbled as he gazed at the shiny gem in his grasp. Light footsteps pulled him out of his thoughts. He turned towards the footsteps that originated from within the darkness. Boyd stepped out of the darkness, a strong looking wooden crossbow held firmly in his grasp. Glowing light green runes ran over its length, showing that the Elf was actively funneling his magical energy into the weapon.
"Boyd." He nodded his head at the Elf who nodded back. Unlike the feeling he got from the creature the moment he had made contact with it, the feeling he got from Boyd was a lot more authentic, letting him know that he was with his true party member, although he didn't let down his guard one bit.
"What was that?" Boyd asked, squatting by one of the numerous puddles of black water that had pooled together upon the monster's death.
