Raw power burned through Kai's veins as he focused on absorbing the ambient mana that floated around him. He had never come across a concentration of ambient mana as high as this before. Not even during the time he had spent in the Imperial Army training camp.
His eyes glowed brightly in the darkness of the eyes, soon attracting the attention of his other friends. They hurried over, taking in Reinhard's tense stance when they came close enough.
"What's going on?!" Erwin was the first to asked as he reached the duo who were by the pond.
"I have no idea. Kei just asked me to take him to the pond, and then he asked me if I felt the increase in ambient mana levels, and bam! This!" Reinhard had no idea what to make of the situation.
"Guys, I'm okay, honestly!" Kai spoke up, annoyance apparent in his voice. He didn't like the way that they were constantly fussing over him. He could take care of himself if it was necessary.
