Battle of The Three Parties (Part Two)

Niles was the spearhead of his newcomer army. Since he had a longsword, sending the other good-for-nothing newcomers first would be unwise. It would only cause unnecessary deaths.

The attention of the skeletons was on Dante and Ulfred. Furthermore, the front ranks of their formation were utterly destroyed.

Niles had a few 'intact' skeletons in front of him. The other ones were the upper or the lower bodies of the skeletons that could still move.

Killing them would be a piece of cake for him!

Realizing this, Niles grinned again. All the frustration he had accumulated so far was about to disperse.

Before long, the skeletons closer to them reacted to the loud noises and crawled toward the small newcomer army. However, only the 'halflings' behaved this way.

It seemed like the dungeon boss freed them of his control... Or to the dungeon boss, Dante and Ulfred were bigger threats. So, it directed the still intact skeletons toward the duo and the halflings toward the newcomer army.

Whatever it was the situation, it was in Niles' favor!

His first prey was an upper body.

He had doubts about how effective the longsword would be against these skeletal creatures. The halfling before him was a good guinea pig for testing it out!

Niles held his sword high with both hands and brought it down upon its skull! In case, he used all of his might!

"Haaah!"

*crack*

The halfling's skull instantly split open! Even its torso hadn't spared from the blow and broke into two halves!

One hit was enough to kill a high-level purple-lined pygmy skeleton!

"Wait a little more, Dante! You'll pay for everything you had done to us newcomers! Especially, for your humiliating words, and for my spectacles you have broken! I'll make you pay a thousandfold!" Niles yelled with a sinister smile on his face.

After killing his first prey, he didn't even stop for a moment. The flames of hatred urged him to kill more as soon as possible!

One halfling, two halflings, three halflings...!

Niles finally leveled up! Before the level up, he had to kill a total of four high-level pygmy skeletons with his ninety people party! Furthermore, he was the one who killed them! Because of their numbers, his party members gained much less EXP compared to him!

However, there were too many enemies in this hall, and after seeing the halflings, he understood that Dante and Ulfred were having a hard time to kill the skeletons. Therefore, he wasn't bothered by the slow pace of leveling up.

A few minutes later, Niles was a level 3 participant, and the half of his party members were level 2 participants!

The other half of the party was still at level 1, because, due to their numbers, they couldn't see the death of the skeletons.

Honestly, they were useless. Niles himself has killed over ten halflings, and a few skeletons until now, but his party members have just watched him do so from the beginning!

Considering Niles was the only one with an actual weapon, and he had killed the skeletons with one blow, the 'bystander' newcomers weren't really at fault here. It was understandable on their ends. However, for Niles, the situation became irritating enough in just a few minutes.

He discovered that he didn't need them as much as he had thought! He was the party's boss, but at the same time, he was also the one who had done all the hard work! Everything was wrong here!

His party members instantly transformed to EXP-sucker leeches in Niles' eyes!

"Vance! Jeffrey!" He called for his two men with an angry tone of voice.

"Yes, Boss!" The two 'leeches' were keeping themselves close to their Boss all the time. So they answered his call very quickly.

When Niles looked at the two's eyes, he became sure of his earlier speculation. "Take half of the group and kill those two. It's time." He pointed Nathaniel and Iona with a finger.

They were very close to the other end of the hall, hiding behind a giant stone pillar that was away from the skeletons.

The skeletons in front of the room haven't broken their formation from the beginning. There were at least twenty of them. Therefore, they couldn't go further from their current location.

The two leeches surprised upon hearing the words of Niles. "Half of the group? Boss, are you sure? There are still too many skeletons in the hall! If you send half of the party away, you'll definitely have a hard time here!" Vance immediately questioned Niles' decision.

Niles had almost flew into rage after hearing them!

"What kind of a hard time are you talking about? As you can see, 'I' am the one doing everything! Tell me! How hard can things be, if I send all ALL OF YOU away?" He said with a pissed off face and rage-filled voice.

"Now kill those two!" He bellowed at the two.

After their bodies stopped trembling, the two immediately bowed to Niles, and without uttering a word, they turned to their fellow party members a moment later. Then they heard Niles' voice again. His voice was calm this time.

"I'm sending the half of the party after those two because they are undoubtedly much stronger than you. You don't have weapons. If either of you happens to catch the attention of skeletons or you encounter danger in that room, you'll need more people for handling the situation."

Niles said a few more words about the reasons of his decision in order to keep his leader image.

He knew from his earlier experiences, keeping a hundred empty-heads under control was easier said than done.

What if the newcomers disobey him because of his unreasonable orders? He could not allow something like that to happen here and now.

...

Niles looked at the remaining half of his party. "If any of you keep staring stupidly, I'll kill him myself. Don't forget that." He said.

Now half of his party could level up more effectively. To be more appropriate, he could level up more effectively.

The hall wasn't big enough for two small armies. The other half of his party could still 'steal' his EXP if they disobey his orders.

Maybe he had given that order because of his momentary anger. Niles wasn't sure.

Either way, he could not care less.

Niles could see Dante and Ulfred from the moment he entered the hall, but right now, he was very close to the duo and could clearly see the flying bones and half broken skeletons around them despite having a bad eyesight.

Niles suffered from a momentary shock. The duo's fighting style was brutal.

Three words appeared in Niles' mind. Cornered wild beasts!

His morale was shaken. However, he immediately regained his confidence back after looking at his longsword and seeing the claw wounds on the duo's bodies.

After hacking down one more pygmy skeleton and leveling up one more time, he started to yell with mockery in his voice.

"Dante, do you hear me?! Please hang on a little more! I'll be right there in a few minutes! Never think of dying at the hands of these skeletons! I personally need to chop you into a thousand pieces! Only that way I can vent my anger!"

No reply came from the duo.

"No response? Are you in such a desperate situation that you can't even talk? Or are you afraid of dying that much, you don't have time to talk? Ha ha ha!"

Niles and his party started to laugh wildly. Since he had given his last orders, the party's morale was gradually dropping. There were even a few deaths among their ranks.

A good laugh gave their morale a boost... but it didn't last long because the response of the duo came in an unexpected way!

Niles narrowed his eyes upon discovering a flying skeleton! Moreover, it was flying toward them, and it wasn't the only one flying! Before long, three skeletons crashed on the party's rear ranks, and the number continued to increase!

Niles looked at the duo's way again after he had recovered from his shock. He saw Ulfred throwing skeletons as if they were pieces of rock! Furthermore, every skeleton the old man had thrown were landing on top of the party's rear ranks! It was something intentionally done!

Bloodcurdling screams and shrill shrieks started come from Niles' behind! Sometimes, even a sudden line of spurting blood could be seen with the naked eye!

The party's order immediately broke! Some of them tried to fight back against those skeletons while some of them tried to run away from the hall! In the end, chaos began to reign over the party's ranks, and it caused even more deaths!

What could unarmed and low-leveled newcomers do against these purpled-lined pygmy skeletons?

Nothing!

Niles couldn't do anything about the situation either. He could rush to there and ensure the restoration of order among his faithful followers, but he had to move forward right now. Otherwise, Dante could kill the dungeon boss before Niles have arrived there.

He couldn't make a choice. Instead, he felt a sudden rush of blood in his head due to his extreme anger! His face became a dark shade of red at the same time!

Then Niles heard Dante's voice. "This is definitely not my second present to you! It was the idea of this old man! You can't blame me! I have nothing to do with this!"

"And I wasn't the one who broke your spectacles! You broke them YOURSELF! I'm as innocent as a blank page of paper!"

Dante's mockery-filled words were the last straw! Niles finally exploded!

"ARGH!!! I... WILL KILL YOU! DO YOU HEAR ME!!! I WILL CHOP YOU INTO PIECES EVEN IF IT IS THE LAST THING I DO!!!"

With his roar, his saliva spread all over the place, and Niles rushed toward Dante like a maddened warrior!

Right now, he didn't seem like to care about anything other than killing Dante with the most brutal way he could think of!

Dear readers, I'm really sorry about the slow release rate. I'm too damn busy these days, and my situation will continue next week too. However, I'll return with daily updates in the following week(21st January).

There is no need to give false promises. Until that day 3 chapters in a week. That means I'll post one more chapter tomorrow.

I'm reaaaaaally sorry for doing this at this point in the story, but I have no choice. Real life brutally strikes sometimes. Sigh...
