16. NEED TO MEET

RING!

He peeled his eyes open and turned off the his alarm clock. A deep yawn escaped his mouth as he climbed out of his bed.

Dragging his feet he made his way to the bathroom and grabbed his toothbrush. Applying toothpaste to it like an unrivaled artist he was soon driving it down his fine set of teeth.

He gurgled as spat.

He was done...

He was...

"Wahh!" He screamed as he opened the tap and scooped up a handful of water and doused his face with it making sure his eyes were clean enough.

Then he took another look at the mirror and almost fainted from shock.

"M-- m-- m-- m-- my hair..."

"It's...!"

"Ruined!!"

Staring at the mirror he found himself with a wider framework than the day before, his hair coil up in rings, his face brighter and his vision crystal clear without his glasses.

"What happened to my hair?" He asked his reflection. "And my eyes--! I can see perfectly fine now?!"

After thirty minutes of scrubbing his hair till it felt sore and on the verge of dropping he gave up and wept. Each time the hair coiled back up. "What do I do now? The personal image I had built since I enrolled here, gone!"

"Thank goodness uncle left early else he would have killed me." He looked at his shrivelled bony hands. "Last night's punishment still hut hard."

His mind strayed to the beautiful young girl from the day before...

"Yes, the girl from earlier." He stroke his chin as he thought about it deeply. "I don't even know her name but I bet she's into the occult and stuff. Maybe it's a result of my transformation so I need to talk to her again..."

"Wait a minute I also have to hand her this!" He glanced over at her bag which she had forgotten in his care the night before.

His expression suddenly turns gloomy.

"If I can find her that is!"

KRIING!

She reached out from under her blanket and grabbed her alarm clock before hurling it at the wall near the bedside where it smashed open and died on a number of clocks that met the same fate in previous time.

"Sheesh!" Another day of school seems tiring enough." Sasha rolled out of bed and fell on the ground with a thump. "Best wake up routine ever."

She picked herself up and did her daily routine stretches dressed in her light singlet and boxer. Her casted arm had hraled partly overnight after recieving a strange medicine from her uncle.

Sashw had resisted the urge to tell him the night before as much as she wanted but she found out how weak she was to his death stare and told him everything. Aside from the punishment of the night which was nothing short of common ground to her since she was a mutual offender, her uncle said nothing.

As she scrubbed her soapy body under the shower she could not dismiss what her uncle had said the night before when he asked about his paper fan which he needed for an exorcism.

If it was before she would have laughed but how could she tell him she lost it on the train? Along with her bag?

She pushed away several strands of hair from her face as she slipped into her uniform and mini skirt.

She gave a loud groan.

"I have to find the fan no matter what or uncle will kill me." She put on her triskelion earrings. "But it could be anywhere on that train, I might need help. But who would want to help me find a dusty old paper fan on a broken down train?"

Her mind strayed to the nerdy kid from the night before.

"Four eyes! And since he knows what it looks like it saves me the trouble. No way can he refuse a hot chick like me." She flaunted her hair before the mirror to elucidate her point. "What was his name again…?"

She dropped her head and hissed. "I don't even know his class, this is going to be hard. Very hard!"

Kay stepped out of his house while wearing a cap over his hair, his legs barely carrying he as he ran to school while adjusting with the weight of the two bags on his back. "Got to get to school, can't be late. Got to give that girl her bag."

Sasha snuck out of the house before her uncle could confront her and pedalled away on her bicycle. Her eyes brimming with determination. "The earlier I get to school the more time I have to find four eyes."

"I need to meet..."

"I need to meet..."

"...THAT PERSON!"
