For the thousandth time I wonder what kind of a supremely malfunctioning and dramatic family I had married into. They permanently had some period drama being acted out in real life. I fired another text to Vijay. The lack of response probably meant it was true.
Tanmay and Mita exchanged a worried look.
"You look knackered," Mita said finally, addressing Adi. "We should all get some sleep. We will figure out what to do in the morning."
It was a sensible suggestion, and we agreed to call it a night.
Mita and Tanmay decided to stay in. The apartment actually belonged to my grandparents who had bequeathed it to me. Since it was much older than I (it probably rivalled my grandparents' age), there was plenty of room. In an emergency, I could probably house twenty people comfortably.
Once Mita and Tanmay and claimed their usual place, I showed Veer and Adi around the kitchen and the room dedicated to Bosco and Iris.
