Once everything was sorted out, that is, all the claims of various relatives had been repudiated, and Firdaus was cleared for travel, Vijay had to book our tickets back to Mumbai.
"I'll put you in first class with Firdaus – please don't argue this time," Vijay told me.
"Look, I can't afford first class – how about Nirvesh and I go in economy, and you go with Firdaus in first class like you normally do for your business trips?" I suggested.
"For once, I agree with Vijay," Nirvesh said. "He does better with you around, Jags."
"It's just a few hours – and in any case, we all go our separate ways once we are in Mumbai anyway," I told them.
"Jags, really, it won't even make a dent in the company's expenses,' Vijay said.
"It'll make a dent in my ego!" I nearly yelled.
Firdaus chose that moment to make an entry. He was still on crutches, but his leg was healing nicely.
"What are you guys arguing about?" he enquired.
