chapter 7: i stop a royal coup

Hall of justice about the same time Percy was meeting Orm

Annabeth pov

I was in the hall of justice with batman cross referencing our information about the mythological world in this universe to try to figure out where could medusa go in order to make this earth's Chronos to come back from Tartarus, batman had his cowl down since every one in the room knew who he was there was no need for hi to hid his identity.

so after a while we had a pretty good understanding on how this world is different from our own, it seems that celestial bronze does not exist in this world but our weapons are still affective against mythical beings such as demigods, gods and so on, wander woman for example was wounded when Percy cut her with riptide and when piper tried to cut batman with her dagger it phased through him like nothing but we didn't try anything on superman since he was known to be vulnerable to magic there was no way of telling what our weapons would do to him and we didn't want to take that chance.

I thought about Percy and how he must be having fun site seeing in Atlantis but I still missed him a lot, after we were finished for the day we head out to where we were staying apparently they had a few beds laying around for special calls or rotating shifts like how d'rs do in hospitals. after a quick shower I got into bed I was about to go to sleep when all of a sudden an IM appeared in front of me and Percy's face was on it.

he was wearing an Atlantean Armor in the shades of blueish green, he was laying in his bed and he smiled at me "hi there wise girl" I smiled back "hay there kelp head, how you doing today?" and then he told me how his day was going and I almost couldn't believe it, almost..

Percy pov

2 hours earlier Atlantean palace

i looked at the Atlantean in the purple Armor who took of his silver helmet and was named prince Orm, Arthur was the one who spoke "but of course brother this is Perseus Jackson, a special guest from the palace of Poseidon" Orm's eyes widen as he said "and do what we ow the honour of having such an esteemed guest such as yourself Mr Jackson?" I looked at him and I immediately got the impression of power struggle off of him "there is a situation that lord Poseidon sent me here to help the king of Atlantis deal with it"

I caught a bad vibe off of him and before he could speak I heard the screaming of the guards outside the door and then 10 fully armed Atlanteans burst through the door pointing their plasma guns at us I looked at prince Orm as he put on his helmet once again and said "well whatever it is you were sent here to do does not matter ,my purpose of coming hear was to let you know that there is going to be a change of leadership from now on" Arthur was shocked and said "I thought we already agreed that the thrown is mine by birth right since I'm the first born of our mother" Orm started to yell "you are nothing but a half breed bastard who should not exist!" Arthur jr started to cry and that made me mad "oh shut up already! somebody shut him up" Mera came to him quickly "shhh it's ok honey everything is going to be just fine" he came down a little bit but he still had tears in his eyes.

I looked at Orm and said "you really shouldn't have done that" he looked at me and said "oh your giving me orders now? you maybe from Poseidon's palace but you don't order me" he then turned to his men and said "take them all to front of the palace i want the people to bare witness" the armed men started cuffing us and swam us to the front of the palace where in a few minutes it became full of citizens coming to see their king chained up and on his knees.

Orm swam up and said "people of Atlantis! I have an announcement to make, from now on you will have a true king of Atlantis instead of the half breed bastard pretending to be your king and that king will be myself and to prevent any resistance" he said as he pulled out Aquaman's trident and pointed it to Arthur's throat and then said "i will take this obstacle out of the way" "nooo!!!!" Mera screamed but before he could thrust it i started to make an earthquake.

Orm looked around confusion in his eyes until I spoke "you know you never really gave me good chance to properly introduce myself before" he looked at me now even more confused "I am not just a simple messenger for lord Poseidon my title is Perseus Jackson son of Poseidon and prince of the seas" he looked at me in disbelief and said "you are lying" I broke out of my cuffs with no effort and Orm was shocked, I called the trident to me and held it in my hands "how is that possible? only a member of the royal family can wield the trident of Poseidon" and then he realized and bowed down "oh no spare me my lord!" I looked at him and said "will you agree with whatever I command? no issues from now on?" he nodded "yes yes I agree I promise" I looked at him and said "swear by the river Styx that you will" he looked at me and said "fine I swear by the river Styx to agree with whatever Perseus Jackson command with no issues"

thunder could have been heard from deep in the sea and when it came down I looked at Orm and said "you just took a binding oath that if you break you will die right on the spot" he was looking at me with shock and horror when he realized what I made him do, I stood up straight, looked at the guards and said "uncuff the royal family" after they did so looked at everybody from the crowd and said "people of Atlantis my name is Perseus Jackson son of Poseidon and prince of the seas" gasps were now heard through out all the crowd and I continued "I was sent here by my father with his full authority to help you r king and you his subjects but some of you seem to think that your king is unworthy to roll you, well i have some news for you" I looked at Arthur and said "Arthur curry of the house of Atlan take a knee" his eyes widen and went down on one knee and I said "Arthur curry do you swear to always take good care of your Kingdome and to keep it safe from all harm if it is in your power?" he looked me dead in the eyes and said "I do I swear" he then lowered down his head and I said while putting the trident on both his shoulders and then his head "so by the authority given to me by my father and your god Poseidon I declare you king Arthur of Atlantis and if anyone has issues with you being the king this is your divine right" I struck the ground with the trident once and the crowd cheered as he stood back up and gave him back his trident.

he waved to his people and came to me asking in a quiet ton "so Percy what's the plan now?" and i said "now we start training for war"
