Chapter 196: Reassessing an Offer

Carter raced around trying to find his watch. He couldn't find it for the life of him, but that might have been because he was so nervous. Their tour guide was scheduled to pick them up any minute to drive them to the building where Mr. Lee worked.

"Ari?" Carter called for her and found her in the bathroom, doing her hair.

"What?" Ariana peered at him through the mirror.

"Have you seen my watch?" Carter ran a hand through his hair, and Ariana pointed towards his watch that was on the counter.

"That one?" Ariana finished putting her hair up and grabbed his steel watch from the sink, walking over to place it beneath his locking bracelet. "Nervous?"

"Yeah, I haven't done a meeting like this in a while." Carter licked his lips and she nodded.

"You'll be okay. You always do well." Ariana smiled and raised his arm to kiss his bracelet. "Plus, I'll be there."

"Yeah, and you might be doing all the talking, I'm afraid." Carter tried to take a deep breath to calm down.
