unexpected request

Xia Xi rolls on her bed and reaches for her phone. *Snooze* She went right back to sleep. After 5 minutes her phone rings again. She kept tapping it, but it wouldn't go off. "UGHHH, why can't it be quiet." She grabbed her phone and saw it was a phone call from Han Chen.

"Hello?"

"Don't tell me that you're still sleeping. There's a meeting today and you must be there."

"Can I not go? I don't like this job."

"This is not the time to play. I'm almost at your house, so get ready by then."

Xia Xi ends the call and puts the cover over her face. "ARGGGGHH."

She got up and went to the bathroom and washed up. After that she went to her closet and looked at the clothes she got. "These clothes are so not me," as she rummaged through the clothes. At last, she found something.

"Coming!" Xia Xi opens the door and Han Chen's mouth drops open. "What are you wearing? You do know that we're going to a meeting right." Xia Xi looks down at what she's wearing. A white t-shirt with a black blazer over it, a pair of jeans, and wore a pair of white sneakers. "I don't see anything not appropriate for it. I wasn't even going to wear this blazer, but you said it's a meeting, so I just wore it." Han Chen sighed, "okay fine, let's get going before we're late."

At the car, Han Chen passed a file to Xia Xi. "Memorize these. It's for today's meeting." Xia Xi opened the file and started reading it. "You remembered Chun Yu?" Xia Xi thought about it for a minute, "Oh yea, he's the president of De Lin right? I saw it from the file you gave me yesterday. So what about him?" "Even though you're the vice president of De Lin, he never likes you. So, make sure to behave properly later and don't make any mistake that he can catch." Xia Xi thought about it for a second, "Isn't he the one that promotes me to be the vice president?" Han Chen stopped at the red light. "Of course not." You know who De Lin belongs to? Xia Xi shakes her head. "It's your grandmother."

"I have a grandmother? How come I don't know that?"

"Well, this is a long story. I'll tell you when we have time, but now just make sure don't make any mistakes for today's meeting." Xia Xi nods her head and continues reading the information. "Huh? Why is this person here today?" Han Chen took a peak while continuing driving, "Oh him?" I'm not sure why too. It just said that they'll be coming today." Xia Xi smirked, "It's time for the pay back."

As they walked inside the building, Han Chen kept reminding Xia Xi not to cause any trouble and be in her best behavior.

"OKAY OKAY, I remembered. Don't doubt my memory."

"I never doubt it."

"But you sound like my mom," as Xia Xi laughed.

"Ok, it's time to head in now. Don't make any mistakes," as Han Chen warned her again. "Okay. Are we going in or not?" as Xia Xi got annoyed with him. Han Chen pushed the door open and inside was filled with all the directors from De Lin, last but not least Chun Yu, the president of De Lin.

"OH, Xia Xi, you came. How was London for these past years?" as Chun Yun came up and hugged her. "London?" as Xia Xi thought to herself. "Well, it's been great," as Xia awkwardly laughed and hugged him back. "So fake," as Xia Xi thought and looked at him. "Come and take a seat," as he guided her over to her seat.

"Are we waiting for someone?" as Xia Xi asked Chun Yu. Suddenly the door opens. "Here they are," as he walks up and welcomes them. Standing at the door was Lei Kai Xuan and Wen Na. "Why are they here," she looked at them and suddenly Lei Kai Xuan gazed back at her. She quickly shifted her eyes away and pretended she didn't see anything.

"Today I invited the Lei's Group to help us with one of our shows." Commotions started to rise after Chun Yu spoke up. "Why do we need their help?" "Doesn't he know we're rivals?" More words started to spread and Xia Xi sat there confusingly. "What's going on," she wondered to herself. *AHEM AHEM*

Everyone stopped talking and all looked at Chun Yu. One director suddenly spoke up, "What are you doing Chun Yu?" Another started to speak up also, "Do you know what you're doing right now?" as he angrily expressed his words. "Everyone just listen to me. After last year we lost the fashion show to The Lei's Group, we must do something to catch up. I thought it would be nice if we work together with them." Before he can finish, another voice interrupts him, "That's ridiculous. Don't you know you ruin the reputation of this company!" as one argues. Everyone starts to nod and agrees with him. On the other hand, Xia Xi just sat there and listened to what they're saying. "I told Han Chen that I shouldn't even come and I'm right about it," as she sits back and relaxes.

After five minute of arguing, a man speaks up. "Xia Xi, you should say something. You're the vice president here and plus you're the chairman's granddaughter. Everyone turned and looked at Xia Xi. She suddenly sat up and didn't know what to say. "Well, …. Uhmm." She looked at Han Chen who was all the way at the end of the room, but he gave no sign of help. As she turned her gaze back, she saw Lei looking at her. "What should I do," as her head spinned.

"Enough!," as a voice from faraway called out. The door opened and an old lady with two of her assistants came in.

"Chairwoman Xia."

Everyone greeted her and Chun Yu stood up, and gave the seat to her.

"I heard everything from outside. I was the one that asked Chun Yu to do this. I know you guys have doubt on this, but just listen to me." She sat down and looked at Xia Xi. Chairwoman Xia took her hand and guided her to sit next to her.

"This is going to be a collaboration between De Lin and The Lei. Instead of being rivals for once, I feel like we should work together. I'll be assigning this winter collaboration project to Xia Xi. She will be working with the Lei's Group. Is there any objection?" as she looked at each of everyone sternly.

"I have a question," as Xia Xi slowly raised her hand.
