15. Adrian is Jealous

Kirana is cleaning the glass in a room with an office girl named Anita. The girl said she came from the village to work because of economic demands. She was only two years older than Kirana and had wandered alone to the city since she was seventeen years old.

Kirana sighed. At that age, she was still very spoiled, and her world was filled with Adrian. And now things have changed. Phases have changed in just an instant.

"Hey, come with me to the meeting room! There will be a meeting this afternoon. We have to quickly clean it up," Anita's voice broke Kirana's thoughts.

As they made their way to the meeting room, they saw several men in neat suits. Anita bowed in respect, and Kirana bowed until the person passed in front of them.

"Who are they?" asked Kira.

"That's the CEO of this company. His name is Mr. Riko. Handsome right? He's not married yet."

Kirana did not have time to pay attention to the faces of the people one by one. She didn't even know which Riko's face was, and Kirana didn't care!

After cleaning the meeting room, they decided to rest in the pantry to join one another. Kirana feels grateful that her work is not too heavy on her first day.

Widia entered the pantry room and gave orders. "Soon the meeting will start, as usual, you know what to prepare, right? And one more thing, please make coffee milk without sugar for a woman wearing a red dress later in the meeting room!"

"Yes, Miss." They answered almost simultaneously.

Kirana makes and delivers orders for the woman in red. She and one of her colleagues headed for the meeting room, which still looked deserted. Only a few people were already there.

Kirana looked for the figure of a woman in red and found it at the end of the conference table, flipping through the paper in her hand. Kirana brought the drink order in front of her.

"Excuse me, madam. The milk coffee without sugar you asked for," said Kirana placing it on the table.

The woman in red took off her sunglasses and smiled as she replied, "Thank you, Rana!"

Kirana then asked, "You know my name?"

"I saw that," replied the woman in red, pointing to the tag name Kirana was wearing.

"Oh yes. I'm sorry!" Kirana was embarrassed, then left the woman.

But Kirana remembered something about the woman. It seemed familiar to her. She stopped her steps and turned to the woman still staring at Kirana.

"Weren't you the one at the bus stop at the time?" cried Kirana.

The woman stood up and approached Kirana. "Hello, we meet again. I thought you wouldn't recognize me, Kirana," she said.

Kirana did not expect to meet this strange woman again. "What a coincidence that we can meet again, Madam...."

"Sarita. My name is Sarita," Sarita interrupted Kirana's words.

"Madam, I'll excuse myself. I have other work to do." Kirana feels uncomfortable with Sarita, maybe because their first meeting was unpleasant.

Sarita looked at Kirana's back until the girl disappeared from her sight. "Wait a little longer, Kirana."

Kirana stepped out with Anita and her other friends. The busyness of a new job can make Kirana forget for a moment her sadness. The three of them waited for the bus at the bus stop. A black luxury sedan stopped in front of them and honked its horn. Zayn got out of the car and approached Kirana.

"Are you done with work? Come on. I'll take you home!"

The two people beside Kirana looked at each other. Kirana feels awry because she doesn't feel comfortable leaving her two colleagues. Seeing Kirana's behavior, Zayn understood.

"It's okay, let me take your friends too!" Zayn said.

"It's okay. Our house is near here. Kirana, go with him."

"Okay. Next time we will go home together," Kirana said.

After Kirana and Zayn's departure, Anita commented on Kirana. "I'm sure Kirana does not come from an ordinary family. When will I be picked up by a handsome man and a luxury car like that?"

Kirana and Zayn decide to visit Ratih at the hospital. On the way, Zayn asks about Kirana's first day at work.

"Not bad, even though it's tiring, but I enjoy doing it. My friends were also very nice to me."

"It's good, but don't be too tired! You're pregnant. Remember that!" Zayn said.

"Yeah, I know," Kirana answered by rubbing her stomach.

They came back late at night after coming home from the hospital. Ratih's condition was still the same even when Kirana visited her. She didn't recognize her daughter at all.

"Are you sure you want to eat here?" Zayn asked Kirana when they arrived at one of the eateries on the side of the road.

"Yes, why not? The food here is delicious, not inferior to the food in the restaurant. I tried it once with my college friends, and you should try it too."

"But the cleanliness is not guaranteed, Kirana," said Zayn looking around.

"Shhh... you don't be fussy!" interrupted Kirana. She grabbed Zayn's hand and pulled him into the small restaurant.

Zayn looked at Kirana's hand, then smiled. He could not refuse Kirana's invitation.

"Besides, I'm already poor, so I have to get used to saving money," said Kirana after ordering food.

Not long after their orders arrived, Kirana ordered seafood, while Zayn just obeyed what Kirana ordered. Zayn seemed hesitant to eat the food in front of him. Kirana glared at Zayn, telling him to eat immediately.

Zayn obeyed after being glared at by Kirana and started to enjoy the food served on the table. It wasn't long before he commented, "Hmm... this isn't bad!"

Kirana smiled at Zayn's comment. "I told you, the food here is delicious. You'll have to try the other menus as well later."

"Yes, as long as you don't glare at me," said Zayn.

Kirana laughed at Zayn's words. Seeing Kirana's laughter, Zayn smiled as something warmed in his chest.

Not far from where they ate, Adrian noticed the interaction between Kirana and Zayn in the car. He had followed the two of them since leaving the hospital where Ratih was being treated. Seeing Kirana and Zayn laughing at each other, Adrian felt angry because burning with jealousy. He smacks the steering wheel hard.

"He must stay away from Kirana!"
