"Heeey girlfriend! What's up with ya! Catherine walks into the castle calling on Hailey.

"Oh... I'm... so sorry…I didn't realize your mother is here..." she apologized seeing an older woman whom she could tell to be Hailey's mother.

"Hey Catherine." Hailey called back dryly.

"Hello ma'am," she dipped her head, greeting Hailey's mother.

"Welcome my dear. I will step outside for a bit." Ms Lucky said and stood from her seat. She flashed them a forced smile after which she started outside.

"Is everything alright with your mother?" Catherine asked with raised brows as soon as Ms Lucky shut the door after her.

Hailey let out a sigh. "Urh…" she managed to say.

"No. I don't believe you. Something definitely is wrong. Ermm...what about…" Her eyes strayed to the staircase as if she expected someone to walk down the stairs.

"Who?" Hailey feigned confusion.

"I mean your brother."

"You mean your crush…"Hailey teased.
