Mission Failed
I couldn't see anything but bright red, I couldn't move my body paralyzed from bottom up. The violent ringing in my left ear and nothing from my right ear. Slowly my vision started to clear up, it was a person in a white dress covered in flames. She was crying, shouting something, I wondered who it was but it was still blurry.
...
The floor trembled, then an excruciating feeling on my arms rushed through after the trembling. "Cr... Cra..." My vision and hearing almost cleared up. "CRANE! GET UP! PLEASE!" The sound of the lady's voice finally woke my half ass up. What happened, how I'm in this crazy situation? I need to get us out of this fiery mess and fast!.
10 minutes earlier...
The traffic on the highway is usually heavy and could take a few minutes before moving forward, but I felt something off when almost half an hour was up. "Team 1, Team 2 check up the perimeter ahead. See what's the hold up and report back over." both teams responded Yes Sir! 6 men 3 in each car dressed in black suits got off and walked through the cars.
"Don't worry miss my team will get you home safely." she only looked at the window not responding my reassurance to her. Nothing really happens and I'm relieved that it is so.
"Hostile's in the area! I repeat hostile's in the... ugh!" the sudden shouting in my ear pod. Sh*t "Team 3, Team 4 grab your gear and secure our rear find us a way off this bridge!" they responded back. I was about to open the door to do the same but, BOOM! an explosion just beside our car erupted into flames. "RPG!" the driver shouted. I grabbed the miss covering from behind to take most of the impact hoping she survives. Gun shots can be heard outside and the car flipped over from the explosion reigning me unconscious for a few minutes before I could regain my senses.
... Present Time
"Team 3, Team 4 Report!" I shouted as loud as I can for my earpiece to pick up the sound. "Captain! hostiles heavily armed! team 4 is down with 2 casualties. Called in for backup ETA 3 minutes top!"
"Understood, keep those bastards away from the vehicle!" Sir Yes Sir! My other hand was still stuck in the seat, I grabbed the knife with my loose hand to free myself and the young lady's lower skirt that catch up into flames. I grabbed the lady and crawled our way out of the vehicle away from possible explosion. The lady kept on crying but I couldn't reassure her at the moment as I was thinking on how to get out of this mess. "Team 3! fall back to my position, we advance forward to other side of the bridge use the cars for cover! they respond with somewhat hope in their voice.
The vehicle hasn't exploded so I risked to grab my gear from the flipped vehicle. I grabbed the 2 duffle bags out and run back to the miss. "What is that!?" the lady asked. I smiled unzipped the bag and a full set of guns were in place. 1 Assault rifle, 2 dessert eagles, an SMG and finally my favorite knife.
Team 3 was close to my location and I provided covering fire to speed up their advance. A few seconds later they were taking cover on the car next our position. "Jake! take the young miss with team 4 while I provide covering fire! get to other side of the bridge!" he nodded understanding my orders. "My lady, please keep your head down and stay close to the cars, my men will take you to safety." her fear took over but she nodded. "NOW!" I stand up firing my rifle at enemy my sights see. Taking down multiple hostiles, I slowly walk backwards keeping the pressure on the enemy while my team escorts the lady out of this situation. Taking cover and providing cover fire slowly but surely we were almost by the end of the bridge. "Captain! back has arrived I repeat back up has arrived!" I was relieved to hear Jake yelling as if we were victorious but the enemies kept pushing forward to our position. I threw 2 grenades in their direction and run for the other side of the bridge hoping to be greeted by our comrades.
Yet, my worse fears in thought came true. BANG! I saw Jakes body flop to the ground and the lady being held hostage by the enemy. "CRANE! HELP! SAVE ME!" The young lady shouted begging for her life. I rushed to where she was but I froze to see who the other side of the bridge was beside the lady. "It can't be...." my pause I did caused me being shot by a sniper I was never aware of.
The face I lastly remember was the lady crying in tears and the Man who I trusted my whole life was laughing grabbed the lady's pendant and killed her coldly. Fighting the will and the cold quickly engulfing my body. "I'll..." the man turned around surprised by my voice "I'll KILL YOU!!!" BANG I got shot again but through the heart. "My lady...." My eyes turned dark and I could no longer do anything. This was a MISSION FAILED.
