Chapter 12

Marcus and Ben got to what looked like a Smithy. It was filled with people that were currently looking for cheap weapons to buy.

"This stuff is way to expensive"

"5 silver for a crappy bow, how ridiculous"

"We only have copper coins damn it!"

Marcus and Ben walked up to the counter.

"Excuse me, can you please enhance my sword?" Marcus asked the dwarf by the counter.

"Do you have the necessary materials?" he asked.

Marcus took out the brown bear claws he got from killing the brown bears.

"There should be at least 30 claws in here, use all of them" Marcus said.

"That will be 40 silver" the dwarf said.

"No problem" he said.

[-40 silver]

[10 Silver available]

"It is fine if we use one of your waiting rooms while I wait?" Marcus asked.

"2 silver" the dwarf said.

[-2]

[8 silver available]

He gave Marcus a key and they went upstairs.

They left everyone on the bottom floor in comeplete shock that he just spent 42 silver all at once like it was nothing while they could barely let go of a few bronze coins.

And Ben who was walking behind him was just like them.

"We're you born with this much money?" Ben asked.

"It does hurt my wallet but it's an investment, I can do a few things with 8 silver, but it sure hurts to be broke" Marcus said sighing.

'He has 8 silver and says he's broke? What are we then, dead?' Ben thought to himself.

They got into the waiting room and sat down in the chairs that were facing each other.

"So, ask all the questions you like, I'll answer them honestly" Marcus said.

"I only have one question, but depending on the answer I might have more" Ben said.

"Again, ask all you like" he said again.

"How do you know do much about Eldergard even though we've only been here a week?" Ben asked.

"This may be hard to believe, but I've been through all of this already, I just went back in time and now I'm here" he said.

"You time traveled, so your saying you discovered a way to travel through time and came back to this point in time?" Ben asked again.

"No, I didn't discover anything, I died many years from now and woke up in class" he said.

Ben put his hand on his mouth and started thinking.

"You think I'm lying right?" Marcus asked.

"No, I know when your lying, I'm more surprised your telling the truth" Ben said shaking.

"Its hard to believe I know, I had to take a while to belive it to, I thought I was just seeing my life flash before my eyes" he said.

"So you know every important moment and all the best places to go to grow stronger" Ben said.

"Yes" Marcus said.

Ben stood up in shock.

"Is that why you told me to take the Sorcerer class quest?!" he asked loudly.

Marcus smiled.

"Is it a super strong class?!" Ben asked.

"It's versatile class that specializes in attack and defence, it's great with AOE spells and once you reach Rank 3 you would be able to defeat [Elite rank] Monsters solo" Marcus said.

Ben sat down smiling.

"Thank you so much!" Ben yelled.

"It's no problem, but remember this try to betray me, you won't find a mountain high or ocean deep enough to get away from me" Marcus said cracking his knuckles.

They both started laughing.

"You know I would never betray you" Ben said smiling.

"I know, wanted to see it you got scared" Marcus said while still laughing.

[Enchancement complete!]

"Let's go down, my sword is done" he said standing.

"Alright" they got out.

"I forgot to ask, how did you die?"Ben asked.

" Remember what I told you about those weapons that can kill you even with extra lives, I got hit with one of those and died immediately" Marcus said holding his chest, remembering the burning pain from when he was killed.

"Damn, sorry to remind about that" Ben said.

"No it's fine, it makes me remember why I'm doing this, why we have to be stronger" Marcus said squeezing his fist.

They got downstairs and hechecked his sword.

[Masters first weapon<bronze grade>]

[Enhancement: +7]

[Attack: +90]

[Effect 1: Attack speed +25%]

[Effect 2: Critical Damage chance +55%]

[Effect 3: Strength +50]

"This is some fine work" Marcus said.

"Of course, a man of your stature should have at least this much, but I'll be honest, there were quite a few failures" the dwarf said

"Without failure we cannot grow" Marcus said.

"Very true" the dwarf said smiling.

Marcus sheathed his blade and shook his hand.

"Come back for any more enhancements" the dwarf said smiling.

"Will do" Marcus said.

"I'm guessing that was your reputation at work" Ben said as they walked out.

"Yep" Marcus said.

"I should make a donation to the church the next time we go" Ben said.

"Wait until you get 2 Gold coins, having to be a choir boy is gonna be a pain" Marcus said.

"2 Gold seems like a stretch for right now" Ben said.

"It's either that or getting called to do chores for the church every 2 days" Marcus said.

"Wait, I'm a Helper right now, doesn't that mean they call me for work anyway?" Ben asked.

"Only on Sundays or when theirs an emergency" Marcus said.

"Alright, I'll hold out for now" Ben nodded.

Marcus could sense three people watching them as they left.

'PKers? No, they don't have the feel, they probably want to rob us' he thought.

"We'll go to the inn and sleep, tomorrow we go to the forest and keep grinding brown bears" Marcus said.

Ben nodded in agreement.

They got to the inn and paid for a room with 2 beds and went upstairs after ordering dinner.

"They weren't this hospitipal to me before" Ben said as he sat down. "We got the best room for 4 copper when it's usually 8" Ben said.

"The locals like the cosy up to those with high reputation" Marcus said as he sat down.

He out his sword on the side of the bed and unequipping his armor.

"Did you noticed those guys following us?" Marcus asked.

"There were guys following us?" Ben asked in reply.

"Yeah, they probably wanted to rob us" Marcus said.

"Are you sure they aren't PKers?" Ben said worried.

"No, PKers wouldn't be so obvious when aiming for a target at least the ones I know" he said.

"You've probably dealt with a lot of PKers in your time" Ben laughed.

"Something like that" Marcus said as he laid down. "I'm gonna go to bed, goodnight" he said.

"Same, goodnight" Ben said.

They turned the lights off and fell asleep.

To be continued...
