Chapter Five:
Seraphina's POV
Why try to be a Luna when I was destined to be an multi-millionaire heiress. While my mother was alive, she was the most known lady in all of Theroes Pack, not the Luna. At the end of the day, loyalty laid where money resided.
I wasted no time in searching for the name and address of the company that I should be directing. It was a streaming platform and animation studio that was currently leading in entertainment.
"Xexi." I read the name.
My full name, Seraphina Jules Jones, was boldly written on the contract that my mother and sister had signed. Surely my mother's younger sister should've tried to tell me about this.
She had never tried to reach me since my mother died and I hoped she wasn't trying to run off with my inheritance. "Not in this life. I wouldn't let anyone take me for granted in this life."
In my last life, I had no idea about this and she never reached out to tell me even when I was twenty-one. She definitely had some explaining to do when we meet.
"Sera, don't you think you're forgetting something quite important?" Samira asked in my mind link.
I walked out of the house with the documents and switched on my father's car. "Like what, Sam?"
"Who killed us?"
My body froze. The ground under me began feeling blurry as I felt the pain raking my body again. Killed us? Yes, we have been killed. I tried to think of possible culprits and the only ones who came to mind were Alpha Sebastian and that smiling Rachael, her smiles had begun to hunt me.
Yet, they had been quite clear with that fact that they didn't see me as anything more than a wolfless girl so why would they go through the trouble to kill me?
Someone else was involved, perhaps someone else that I haven't been considering before.
"It seems I have to be very careful in my dealings, Sami. This person knew my workplace so it should be someone from the pack." I entered the car.
The person had also said that I had nearly taken down a big dog with me. That big dog would mean someone important. But I did nothing of such. I've never fought back against anyone in my life.
These thoughts kept hammering in my head as I drove out of my mansion and out of the pack. My eyes were up and it was only when I heard a scream that I looked down and stepped on the break.
"Goddess, are you okay—" I looked at the girl I nearly hit and she stared back at me in fear. Wasn't she the one in charge of cleaning my room?
I remembered one of the condescending remarks she said to me in my past life. Calling me useless for not being able to clean my own house and paying omegas all the time.
She had refused to include the fact that I worked a six to five job and seventy-five percent of my earnings and bonuses went to the pack. She should've been grateful that I still exclusively paid her for the job but she refused to acknowledge that.
Either ways, I couldn't hate her for a bad attitude she'd show me in the future and if possible, I'd want her to keep working for me when I leave this pack. Most omegas said anything others say to not be bullied so I'd try to give her a benefit of doubt.
I forced a smile. "Sorry about that, Jane. I was in quite a hurry to attend a regional meeting. About the cleaning of today, I'd like to include the garage as well and I'd add $100 more."
Her face straightened instantly. "$100 more dollars? Just for the garage?"
I nodded. I usually gave her $450 dollars a week to clean the house and the rooms in it, except the garage were my Samira stayed. But Samira couldn't stay put anymore and wanted to look for the abandoned house we had been kill in.
"Yes dear, its not every time that you'd clean there so this one time, for $15 dollars, okay?"
I noticed my speech had some discrepancies. I spoke of a regional meeting which was something I partook in my past life, three years in the future. And calling this girl that was just a year younger than me 'dear' sounded wrong. I did this because I was mentally twenty-one.
She didn't notice and nodded with a satisfied expression. "I was actually on my way to do it. I hope you didn't contact anyone yet."
I placed a hand on my chest as I shook my head. "I made a deal with you. Why will I break our deal? We are both adults and that'd be wrong. You wouldn't do that to me either, would you?"
She chuckled nervously and looked down. I wondered if she could catch the sarcasm in my voice. "I-I'd try to be coming early to clean the place. Thank you."
I waved to her and drove off. A sigh of relief left me. I couldn't be sure, but she might not be part of my scorning team soon enough.
Right now, my father just died and in the next few days, my scorners who saw me as nothing but a wolfless girl would be formed. I had to be mentally ready for them.
The road was filled with cats of different sizes and colours and my eyes couldn't keep up at some point. I learnt how to drive at nineteen and right now, I was only driving because I knew what to do but my body wasn't accustomed to it.
A police man walked towards me and my body trembled. I had no driving licence and no ID card at the moment. Why didn't I think of all these before rushing out of the house?
He gently knocked on the windshield. I plastered a smile on my face as I wind down to greet him. He looked at the back of my car and nodded. "You are family to Mister Jones?"
My smile fell. Did he know my father? I made a curt nod. He must've recognized his car and came to check who drove it.
I saw his name on his vest and registered it in my mind. He might be someone I'd have to go to for help if I find myself all alone again.
