Chapter Thirty-Nine:
Seraphina's POV
"I still got engaged to Sebastian, though," I sighed lowly as I signed the contract that had weirdly already been prepared. It was as if Alpha Sebastian had been waiting to bring it up.
It was a contracted engagement, which was different from the last one we had in my past life. I felt like something left my body after I signed the contract.
I didn't really understand how things seemed to be happening the same way, but for a different reason. At least, Rachael and Sebastian wouldn't meet. I hoped.
"Sorry about this," Percy said as we came down the stairs. Before I could assure him that it was something I could handle, he added, "My mother would kill me."
That made me burst out laughing as I imagined his mother glaring at him as he told her that he watched me sign an engagement contract with an Alpha.
