Chapter 29: The New Deal

Kinsley’s POV

My father is a wise Alpha when it comes to battle.

I sit back in my little cage, rocking on the bars that make up the floor of my kennel. I can’t help but imagine what kind of father builds something like this for his daughter. And it was built for me, too. My name was etched into the bars by my own fingernails.

I have been in this predicament before.

The only difference now is that he isn’t rushing off to give me to Ace. He has wasted days and nights attempting to forge a plan but the best he has is waiting everything out.

He wants my mate and our pack to attack Ace, to maybe even kill The Rogue Prince once and for all.

Or he expects Terron to come here and find me in this little cage, hanging like a meaty dinner bone in front of a stray pup.

I hope if my mate is alive, he doesn’t fall for either of these pathetic ploys. Alpha Jonathan is worried though, and that is the only sign of hope and optimism I have to cling onto.
