"A high-level curse, you sure Senior...? ", said Shapish shocked.
The Priest snorted. He said, "I can smell a curse half asleep! As the Goddess's servant, I have participated in many exorcisms "
"Of course, Senior must have been an archbishop", said Shapish.
"Even a charlatan knows some tricks...hehe", said Wars.
The Priest wasn't offended. He said, " At least, I am not as useless as you".
Shapish said, "Can you figure out who was the curse user? "
"How would I know that? I'm not a diviner! Putting all the work on this poor little lamb", said The Priest as if sighing.
Shapish became curious. He asked, "What do you need to become a diviner, senior? "
"You better not get any funny ideas", said Wars in a serious tone.
" Why not? ", said Shapish.
"Because it's too reckless! You can't be thinking about revenge now. You are currently a kid, plus we know that there is a high-level curse user involved", replied Wars.
"That's why it's even more important", said The Priest.
He added, " He needs to hide from that person. You know that...One can't prevent someone of higher level prying into their fate without awakening the "third eye"-chakra."
Wars retorted, "That's what I am saying? The third eye chakra is third in the sequence... He can't possibly open that now without consequences! We need to find immediate solutions and look out for the long term too! Besides, there are more important things than playing detective".
He added, "Keep in hiding for now and slowly awaken the third-eye chakra. That's the safest option. "
Though Shapish didn't want to retort and irritate this senior, he valued his life far more. They say one loses the attachment to life the more they reincarnate- Well, that might be true for those who experienced a lifetime of luxury. What about those who were so unlucky that they couldn't properly even once? Who didn't want to go to the tallest mountain in the world and urinate upon the world to feel a sense of accomplishment and leave a mark on the world?
So, he interjected, "And keep expecting a random person to be negligent? Are you even serious? Besides that, why do you think that the person might be observing me? "
The Priest replied, "How would I know that? "
Shapish really wanted to say some seemingly rude words to this guy too , but he kept it to himself. After all, this person was a far easier target than the other one who looked always on guard.
They kept silent as they were pondering over the various clues. They kept thinking for some time.
Suddenly Shapish had an idea as he muttered,
"Don't tell me that this guy was the same guy that tried to kill me in the womb? "
"Definitely possible", said The Priest.
"Affirmative ", said Wars.
Why the hell was he saying 'affirmative'? Did that even make sense? He probably didn't care if it even made sense. Some people sure live carefree lives while others have to mint each and every word carefully.
"So, why is he waiting? " asked Shapish.
"He probably thinks you are going to die. After all, you have the scent of a cursed corpse", said The Priest.
"The hell do you mean by that? ", asked Shapish as he tried to look visibly offended. Of course, one can't act too submissive or the ruse might be exposed.
" Now, now... My little princess got angry... haha...By the way, I was only speaking the truth. I can sense that you had been in contact with a wraith-level curse...There is a lot of cursed energy in your body", said The Priest."
Shapish said, "He probably thinks that I will die soon. I must say this guy is pretty careful! Being so careful against a child...He must be afraid of the consequences of being found out. "
"I think you are onto something", said Wars.
" Poof! Big brain time. So much is inferred from such little clues. How can anyone catch that...Oh My Goddess, how could someone possibly guess one plus one is two? Absolute blasphemy!", said the Priest.
Shapish was about to interject but Wars stopped him.
"Let him be, Shapish. At least two people should be productive... Huff", he said.
"Two monkeys can try doing whatever they want, the most they can do is scratch each other's backs...haha...", said The Priest.
"Or you can try dying", said Wars.
" Did you mean die trying?", said Shapish.
"No, I really mean you should try faking your death and escape? ", said Wars.
"Mind-blowing!! Telling a month-old kid to fend for himself...haha", said The Priest. He added, "You are truly one of a kind, Wars".
For the first time in a while Shapish agreed with the priest.
"This guy must have been a deadbeat", Shapish lampooned inwardly.
"Are there any other ways? ", said Shapish.
"Any ocular technique can help you avoid detection. There are many solutions but all of them will corrupt you a bit", said The Priest.
Shapish wasn't too concerned about the corruption. After all, he already had a sword hanging around his neck.
Wars interjected and said, "In later stages, you would need to observe a lot of higher entities to advance. This would automatically entail corruption. I wouldn't advise you to start messing with your psyche this early...plus planting a seed at such a lower level is atrociously dangerous".
Shapish asked The Priest, " What does he mean by seed? "
"It basically means planting a seed... A higher consciousness starts growing within you. It grows at a particular pace and then, speeds up its invasion exponentially if the original consciousness still hasn't awakened more than it requires", he said.
" Basically, it behaves like a parasite till it gets it filled but as soon as its requirements aren't met, it devours the host ", said Wars.
" Sounds like a messy marriage and a messier divorce", Shapish lampooned.
"You can also look at it like blessings. I mean...if the Goddess blesses me with a part for her consciousness....and I disappoint her, she will overtake my consciousness. Isn't it 'divine' will? ", said The Priest.
Shapish breathed heavily as he pondered for a while.
He said, "No, Thanks! You can keep your blessings, Senior."
