The Problem With Sisters

The ground crunched under their feet, the remnants of frost in the air. Victor skulked behind her, waiting for an explanation. Whether or not she would give it. He scowled at her silence, his shoulders drooping slightly at what he felt was rejection from the sister he used to fence with on these very grounds. She glanced back at him, sniggering slightly at his expression.

"You don't need to pout so." Charlotte said. "You'd have known about our family involvement had you bothered to contact us," she pointed out.

She turned walking backwards as she did, a deep scowl on her face. "I can't believe you'd keep this a secret," she said.

"I can't believe you'd thought I'd tell my straight laced Professor sister about the Werewolf out of time." he said through gritted teeth. "How could you, my sister have known about me being some reborn White Knight of some kind, and not tell me about it!" His breathing came out harsh, as his sister let out a sigh, seeming to deflate slightly.

"We were not trying to hide things from you." Charlotte said with a sigh. "The truth is relative. What I said is true. You are the first male born in our family."

Victor frowned, "How is that possible?"

"Fate and destiny are fickle things they don't always come the way you might expect. Perhaps the moon aligned a certain way. Or perhaps it is because the Witch's descendant was to be born." Charlotte said eyeing her brother. "You met her already didn't you?"

"I did." Victor said. "Nora. She went with Freya to New Orleans."

"The Academy," Charlotte muttered, as she kicked out at a pebble. "The Academy is home to some of the best witches and supernatural in the world."

Victor stopped in his tracks. "How do you know so much?" Victor ground out.

Charlotte gave him a droll look pausing in her walk. "Academic curiosity. I wanted to know all I could about all of this. In case this day ever came."

She narrowed her eyes at her brother. "Of course I always thought that my brother would talk to me if this ever happened." She said glowering.

Victor ran a hand though his hair. "I'm sorry, just wasn't sure how much I could say." he muttered, shaking his head. "Never mind the fact that I'd not known my academic straight laced professor sister would even believe my tale of Werewolves and Curses."

Charlotte made a face. "I guess that's a good point." she said shrugging, and then grabbing Victor in a hug squeezing tightly. "I missed you, you jerk."

"I missed you too." Victor said hugging her back and grinning widely before he sighed once more. "I don't know if I can do this, I'm no White Knight."

Charlotte shook her head. "You are my brother and the first male born in a legacy of girls. We have always been true to Wilhelm's vision. Of seeing Freya return." she said putting her hands on his shoulders.

"There is more than meets the eye when it comes to you." Charlotte said warmly.

"I certainly hope so." Victor sighed.

"So do I."

Victor and Freya turned startled at the new voice. In front of them a girl with dark raven hair, dressed in head to toe black leather stood in front of them a smirk on her violet painted lips. Charlotte stood protectively in front of Victor pulling out a staff that shone a bright neon and sizzled with electricity.

"Whoever you are, you are trespassing." she spat out. "I suggest you leave before I do something you'll regret."

The girl raised her eyebrows before her lips twitched into a grin and she made a flicking motion with her hands and Charlotte flew hitting a tree before laying still.

"Charlie!" Victor shrieked in horror as he scrambled to her, gently turning around and checking on her pulse.

Victor looked up as the forest seemed to darken and he heard the crackle of thunder behind him. The girl walked towards him a storm surrounding her, as her eyes seemed to glow with some unknown force.

"I'm starting to really dislike Witches." he said.

"Well," The girl said with a smile. "It would please you to know, that I'm not just a witch." she said her voice seeming to echo in the forest.

"What do you want?" He demanded.

"Chaos." she said putting her palms out and raising them. Victor watched as the storm above seemed to churn until it resembled a whirlpool of sorts he looked back at her in shock.

"What are you?" He asked.

"The worst kind of Witch of all. A demon." she said. "A demon that you will be staying with for the foreseeable future." she said smugly, before Victor's world turned dark.
