The Protector: Heroes Of Maeville.

The Protector: Of a very sacred and old Prophecy in the far distant village of Maeville, there has been a foretelling of a stranger, that would visit their land, and pass through there with her mighty hands. They called her, 'The Protector'. ____ Raven Bella Lawrence, R.B, is a thirty three years old, nearly a successful Lawyer in New York, luckily blessed with the opportunity of elevating her life and career with one big case. The night before the case, however, she reads a book, and falls asleep as she normally did every night since she began the novel: Home of Maeville's Heroes. Strangely, that particular day, she slept and never woke up. And when her eyes finally opened, she was in a bizarre but familiar land. A place she has read about all her life. R. B suddenly realized that she has been reincarnated into the land of Maeville... The same fantasyland in her novel. She can't get out, not unless she saves the people of the mysterious village. R. B must do all that she can to be able to leave the fantasy world, and return back to her life in New York. But of course things wouldn't be easy, one should know that much. After all, being the Protector of an entire village filled with heroes yielding supernatural powers would certainly derive great responsibility and knowledge.

Prologue.

✩~✩

'Once upon a time in the kingdom of Maeville, there was a man.

'He was one like no other. Mighty and powerful, skillful in combat, clever and wise, blessed with high intelligence of the gods themselves.

'But this man was without no friends, nor family, nor enemies. He was indeed all alone.

'One day, he reached up to the heavens and pleaded that his fate be changed. And the gods heard his prayers. With their authority and blessing, this man was granted the opportunity of creating a big family, and not just for himself alone, but for the sake of others who had been unfortunately like him—living in a lonesome world.

'Out of the gods magic came a school. A home constructed and assembled by powerful magic.

'This home was known to be the founding abode of a number of children with unique powers and the people of Maeville soon gave name to this enchanted school. They called the place; The School Of Maeville Heroes. And then people lived happily ever after--'

"Uh, professor Conwart," a feeble voice called out, and the narrator paused, frowning slightly. "Could you um, go back a little to the part where you mention this hero's name? I think the audience would like to hear about... I mean, you know, just his name?"

Professor Conwart was a man in his early fifties; a petulant and irritable man he was. His thick bushy brows lowered and pulled closer together, and eyelids dreadful and intimidating stared unblinking.

"Or you know what?" Said the other one recognized to be Tiny. "Never mind. Just go on with your tale. Although I do think that perhaps you should--"

'And then the people lived happily ever after. But only for a short period of time. Until the Dragon came. The founder of The School Of Heroes, fought and slayed this beast, and once again, everyone was sent into a state of immense jubilation. But the glorious day did not last long at all.

'Soon all kinds of calamities began to fall on some students, whilst the others began to lose their magic. The gods were no longer on their side, and soon, their world was on the very edge of collapsing. The slaying of the sacred beast had led to their unfortunate fate, and now, doom is lurking in the shadows, waiting for its first victim to devour.

'How ironic must it be for an entire world filled with powerful heroes to live in a universe where they cannot protect themselves?

'But time has changed now. For a new student is about to become one with them. And they shall call him... The Protector. '

There was a short moment of total silence. Professor Conwart stared directly at his colleague, Tiny.

Tiny was... Well, a dwarf. The rest of his kind had abandoned him and so it had just been him alone amongst five others of his friends, who made it safely to the School Of Heroes. "Well, what about the founder's name?" He asked, though he was not really expecting a reply from Conwart. Then he pushed his luck. "You do know it's just you and I here? The other kids never attend your class because they say you're... um, well, uh, boring?"

Conwart frowned, his thin pale lips firmly tightened.

'And the name of the leader was Elan Armstrong.'

"And also, what makes everyone think the Protector would be a man just like the founder? What if it's a woman?"

'And they shall call him or her... The Protector. '

"Much better. Much better." Said tiny, as a satisfying grin worked its way over to his face. Then it disappeared. "But we are never going to meet this Protector, are we?"

'Only the gods know the answer, but yes, we would have probably all been dead by the time they arrived.'
