Chapter One Twenty One: The Princesses Promise

For the most part Aurora had been focusing on Kara's potential. She wanted to make sure that Kara would be prepared for any and all challenges that came her way. So, teaching her daughter, even at infancy was super important. Introducing her to the magic that coursed through her blood was a big part of that teaching.

Aurora would spend days simply casting magic and Kara's room while Kara's watched. Fascinated by her mother's ability to control things so smoothly. It was a true sight to behold. And even though she was still very young, Kara could sense the magic. She could sense the familiarity between herself and her mother and that made her feel safe.

" Now, you'll be able to do everything that I've been showing you, when you are old enough. But, considering you are a hybrid, you should be able to do far more than me" Aurora smiled down at Young Kara.

" Honestly we have no idea what your completely capable of. We know that you are strong and you grow to be very strong. But even then you had never reached your full potential. And I want to see you do that this time, which is why we will be attempting things a little differently" Aurora reached her hand down into Kara's crib and placed her hand onto Kara's forehead. And after chanting a few words, a green glow began to appear between her hand and Kara's head.

" This will unlock your abilities a little earlier than normal. It was keep your vampiric hunger at bay whilst also allowing you to focus more clearly on your goals. I wish I had been given this when I was your age..would've saved me alot of time" Aurora removed her hand from Kara and allowed her to rest.

It was at this time, that Aurora made her way out of the room and went down the staircase near her room and entered a new room at the bottom of the stairs and locked the door behind her.

It was there that she took a moment to herself and closed her eyes before a bright purple flow appeared within the room. Though she could sense the energy within the room, Aurora kept her eyes closed.

" What are you doing here? " Aurora asked, sounding as though she was expecting the energy to be there even though she wished it wasn't.

" That little trick you pulled with the illusion was interesting" The voice called out which made Aurora chuckle and roll her eyes.

" I didn't have anything to do with the illusion, I can promise you that" Aurora smirked.

" Yes you did. We both know that you did " The voice was stern and firm in its belief

" I already told you before that I didn't do it. I know it would be more convenient if I did but I didn't. Perhaps you should check your other enemies before assuming that it was me" Aurora finally opened her eyes to see that Raven was standing before her.

" I just want to ensure that you are going along with what we discussed" Raven crossed her arms as she stared down Aurora, assessing her body movements.

" I'm going to do everything that we agreed upon. I'm good for it. And I would appreciate you staying out of my hair and way whilst I'm doing it. Everything will be ready soon enough" Aurora assured.

" Good " and with that, Raven dissapeared.

Aurora was left within the room, To think about the discussion that she had just had. Months earlier she had been approached by raven, an older version of the one that she knew in this life. And she was offered a deal. To keep her daughter as far away from Gabriel as possible. And Aurora for the most part, planned to do just that. Her recent friendship with Ember had also made her lean towards keeping her end of the bargain. Though, she did not like to be pressured and she did not like being under constant surveillance. Aurora would have normally fought against Raven and refused to cooperate but this version of Raven was far stronger and had for more experience than Aurora at the time. And so, until the time was right, Aurora could not do much in the way of defending herself so she complied.

Everything relied so heavily on Kara and her future. Aurora knew this, It wanted to do what was best for her daughter under any circumstances. And even though the suggestions And dealings that she had made recently would ensure her daughter's safety, Aurora still found it difficult to work with others.

But, if everything went according to her plan, she would be able to achieve everything she wanted in the near future. But first, she would need to ensure that the Kingdom itself could withstand any and all attacks. This was not primarily for the saftey of the people, but more so for the secrets that layed within the walls. The ancient magic and the truth behind their creation that would need to be kept guarded. She had been sworn to uphold its protection by her parents and Kara would need to be prepared to take on that roll as well.

Whilst, even in previous lives, noone had discovered this truth, the world was changing. And this version would be far different so the possibility was far more reachable now. And Aurora would have to do whatever she could to ensure that the secrets of the Kingdom never got out to anyone. Under any circumstances.

She often wondered why Ember had never mentioned it to her but she assumed that it was simply something she never wanted to be bothered with. But Ember withheld alot of things from Aurora. Truths of the world and secrets that Aurora was simply never allowed to know. And yet, despite the temptations, Aurora found herself enjoying her time with Ember genuinely. She loved having Ember around in truth, and the temptation had nothing to do with it.

Aurora found herself thinking of Ember often and wondered if Ember did the same. Most likely not, because of everything going on with Penny and yet, this didn't change the feelings that Aurora had. She knew that Ember was a good person, she was the world itself. She was the beginning and the end for them all. But she was also something beyond that, she was Auroras friend. She was Auroras confidant. And losing Ember, would destroy Aurora in ways she couldn't even completely comprehend.
