Chapter One Hundred Twenty Nine: The Secret Seen

Penny, Keera and Shawn had decided to make their way out to the training ground that Shawn had picked for them. It was a few miles outside of the Lycan Kingdom, and was far enough away from any civilization where there would be very little damage to property. Shawn had prepared the land, by touching his scythe upon the ground, and flattening 50 foot by 50 foot square of ground. Penny and Keera watched on as he made some final adjustments to the training area.

" Do you really think I'm going to actually get as strong as dad? " Penny asked excitedly.

" Well going from the way he talks, you'll be stronger than him. Stronger than anyone actually " Keera smiles, as she crossed her arms, Watching Shawn do tasks that would have taken several days to complete by hand.

" I really hope so" Penny turned to Keera and smiled widely. " Thank you for being here. I feel much more confident with you here" Penny was extremely upbeat compared to her normal mood. Keera ignored this however and watched on as Shawn continued his work.

" I hope so..because..I've been feeling really helpless lately. The fight with Ember, losing Mom, everything has become too much. And on top of that, I keep having this weird feeling lately..it's like..a mood that feels foreign" Penny clutched her skin with her hand, over her heart as though she were trying to stop it from beating so quickly.

" Its weird. There is an energy within me..that doesn't feel like me.." Penny swirls her finger around her heart and slowly, the golden energy that had entered her body whilst she slept, began to slowly trickle out of her.

Keera watched on in astonishment, unsure as to how Penny could be doing something like this.

" Its almost as though someone put this energy in me..without asking. As though..they were trying to control me? " Penny's grew cold, and stared through Keera's soul.

" I didnt..I didn't do it because I was trying to hurt you. I was trying to calm you down so you wouldn't- " Penny grabbed Keera by her neck and in one swift motion, lifted Keera up before slamming her hard into the ground.

" You were trying to control my emotions. Without asking. That isn't something a friend would do" Penny grabbed Keera by her hair and threw her onto the training ground, Shawn managed to back away just in time.

" So I want to know who you are, who you actually are..and don't lie to me" Penny's voice had changed as well. She had a commanding tone, a powerful tone, that demanding respect and fear.

" I am Keera..you know who I am" Keera answered, Penny rolled her eyes.

" You know what I mean, the energy you have. It isn't native here. It isn't native in alot of places. So when you answer my question again..keep in mind that I am aware of this fact" Penny circled around Keera as Shawn stared on, completely lost as to what was happening.

" Honey is everything alright? " Shawn called out but Penny ignored him.

Penny ran up to Keera who laid on the ground and kicked her with great force in the ribs which made Keera slide across the ground and scream in agony.

" Who are you? " Penny asked.

" That's Keera..your friend" Shawn answered.

" Dad, Shut up" Penny barked back.

" Okay Sweetie" Shawn answered. " Wait..what am I saying? Don't talk to your father that way! " Shawn yelled.

" I already told you who I am " Keera whined in pain.

" And I don't believe you "Penny replied.

" What possible answer could I give you that you would accept? Just because my magic is different does not mean that I'm your enemy! I figured you'd be smart enough to know that! " Keera was almost certain she had broken a few ribs but she couldn't worry about it for the time being, her life was on the line if she didn't satisfy Penny's curiosity.

" My name is Keera. And I am a Witch. I'm just a very old Witch. One who has been smart enough to survive the resets long enough to know what to do and what not to do" Keera answered.

" And I also know you're the only one that can actually save us. If I could have done it then I would have done it long before you came along but it's obvious that I can't. And so I gave up, and waiting for someone who could actually get the job done. And as it would turn out, that person is you" Keera was hoping that Penny would believe her because for the most part, she had been truthful with what she had explained.

" You're one of the ancients, aren't you? " Penny questioned.

" Yes. The ancients did not originate here. We came from another world, which we fled. And then we came here, to share our magic with the world. But the magic that we conjured was something that most, did not accept. And so we were pushed into hiding, and helped people from a distance. Until most of us died out, I'm the only one left" Keera answered.

" And I knew one of your ancestors. Which means I know your bloodline very well" Keera added.

" If there is a blood line that can connects us to the Ancients. Does that not mean we are ancients as well?" Penny Questioned.

" Well, your magic, or at least your mothers was diluted. It had been mixed between several other witches and overtime, it was nothing as opposed to what it once was. Though, your mother's magic was still an insanely powerful magic. Yours is different because you are a hybrid. Which puts you on our level, if not even more stronger" Keera had done well enough explaining herself to comfort Penny in the concept of allowing Keera to live a little longer.

" The things that you know about the ancients is not completely true. Most people know almost next to nothing about us. And if I'm being honest, I don't really have any motivation to oppose the ideas, theories and legends because it doesn't matter. What does matter, is that you are here. And you can stop the world from being reset. The magic I used on you, was simply to calm you. To trick your mind into a state where the positive could be more at the forefront. I thought it would help you relax since drinking didn't do it" Keera confessed.

" I would never do anything to hurt you. I would never do anything to cause your pain. That was never my goal or my intention. And you don't have to believe me on that but it's the truth" Keera tried to stand to her feet but fell back down from the pain.

Penny eventually extended her hand down, and offered Keera assistance which Keera accepted and rose back to her feet, hunched over.

" The reason I didn't go into anything about who I am is because it honestly doesn't matter. We were once powerful, But power and strength itself are not going to be enough to be able to actually save the world. That's simply not how it works. And there is practically nothing that I would be able to say or give to you that would be of any relevance other than my support" Keera assured.

" You keep saying that you're basically irrelevant which tells me that you're very much relevant. I don't know that I can trust you, But I know for the time being, you are staying with us. Because your magic is way too strong to fall into the wrong hands" Penny looked over the training yard and admired her dad's work.

" Thank you. But how did you know about the Magic? Most people can't detect it" Keera had known thousands of Witches in her time, and none of them could sense her power whatsoever.

" I might still be learning things. But even I know that with all the crap going on right now, for me to switch moods so quickly, it had to be magic" Penny sighed in defeat. " I will admit though, it was nice to feel happy for a change"

" I'm sorry.." Keera apologized, knowing that even her secret plan couldn't work to fix the pain that Penny felt. All she could do now was hope that time would heal Penny's wounds, just like it would have to heal her ribs.
