Chapter Sixty Two: The Failed Intervention

The tension within the room had been quite high amoung the group but now that she finally had a chance, Keera stepped forward. " I can take you to Adette.." Keera's words made everyone turn back to her.

" I know where she is and I can get you to her.." She added as Penny approached Keera from behind, gripped her shoulder, spun her around in one quick motion and punched Keera as hard as she could in the face.

" You betrayed us..and I'm never going to forgive you for that" Penny hissed.

Keera gripped her cheek and barked back " You freaking tortured me! " she cried.

" You can think whatever you want about me but you know what? You want the truth? Because I drop some truth on you right now that would make you feel a certain way. Might change your damn tone with me" Keera's temper was slowly rising, she had alot of unsung frustration and she was at her boiling point with Penny.

" I don't want to hear a single damn thing that you have to say " Penny answered as she reared back and punched Keera in the face again.

" Penny..stop " Ember stepped forward and Pulled Penny back.

Keera finally rose back to her feet and spit out some blood before finally saying " Fine. You know what? Get there on your damn own " And with that Keera, turned to leave the Hideout.

At first, Noone bothered to try and stop her but Raven shot glares to Penny though Penny had no intentions of repairing any form of a relationship with Keera.

" Fine, I'll freaking do it " Ember rolled her eyes and ran after Keera who she found outside of the hideout, walking rather quickly away.

" Hey! Stop! " Ember called out to Keera who stopped briefly before continuing to walk.

" Listen.." Ember picked up her pace and finally managed to catch up with Keera.

" I know you don't like me and I don't really like you either. We have had our issues but Penny is pissed..but she has the right to be. And even though we all kind of hate one another right now..we do need your help" Ember pleaded as Keera turned to her.

" Really? You..of all people..want help from me? Dude, you wanted Penny all to your damn self and I'm giving her to you..keep her. She is nothing but trouble " Keera shoved Ember away from her own personal space.

" Like I said..we need to put our issues aside because this girl is a threat..and once she is dealt with..then we can worry about our issues" Ember tried to reason.

"No, I'm leaving. As in, I'm leaving the Underworld. I don't want to be here. So there is nothing to resolve. So good luck on your journeys of bullshit" Keera began walking faster away from Ember who tried to chase her down.

" Okay, you want to leave. But running away from the problem isn't going to fix it. Problems can follow you.." Ember again, tried to get Keera to listen to reason.

" If you hate me, fine. But don't hate Penny. She is going through alot. She has alot of pressure on her. And for what it's worth, she cares about you. If she didn't, she wouldn't be as emotional when it comes to you. Do I know how much she cares? No. But I do know that she cares on some level. Your betrayel, whether she saw it coming or not..did hurt her.." Ember grabbed onto Keera again whom this time, stopped walking.

"I feel like...the saviors of this world are destined to be toxic. And I want no part of it. Where the strongest within the world are mentally unstable. I don't want to be here regardless of how she feels about me or how anyone feels about me.." Keera answered.

" Well if you are going to leave then fine. Just give up. But why betray us? Why do that in the first place? " Ember questioned.

Keera took a moment before responding, breathing deeply in and slowly releasing her breath before turning to Ember. " I wanted to leave and the only two who could get me out of here were untrustworthy. So I aligned with both so that way I doubled my chances of leaving. It wasn't anything personal..I just wanted to leave" Keera answered.

" But why...why leave? " Ember asked.

" Because exisistence here is nothing but pain.." A single tear streamed down from Keera's eyes before raising her hand and slamming it as hard as she could into Embers chest, which propelled her back several feet before crashing into the ground.

It was during this time that Keera took advantage of the situation and made her escape.
