The lack of soldiers roaming the castle halls was quite apparent. Iris clenched her fists as she walked through the empty hallways. She had hurried away from her room the moment Uria's messenger alerted her of her father's emergence from the obsidian room. Finally, she had thought. Despite her reluctance to talk with him before, she now knew what had to be done.
As such, she knocked on his door with fiery determination in her eyes.
"Come in, Iris." His voice sounded from behind the door. Of course he knew it was her who knocked. He always knew. She raised her chin and pushed the doors open.
Her father was seated behind his desk, a simple vial filled with a liquid was resting on the table, as well as the dagger he had given to Aether before, along with a thin stack of papers that his hand was resting on.
