Chapter 74

The monster began to glow in a red hue. Its appearance again changed as it became more demonic. Its reflexes began to improve as well as its speed. It began to ignore the others as its instincts dodged their attacks. Even if they managed to land a hit the monster ignored it as it just focused on attacking Roxanne.

Roxanne who was dealing with the full assault from the monster wanted to protest at this injustice. 'Why is it just targeting me? I wasn't the only one that dealt more damage to it 'Despite these thoughts going through her head she didn't lose focus. She didn't want to experience multiple attacks from a mad beat after all.

Fortunately, she has < thought acceleration.> If not she might as well have to release some seals to fight more freely.

After fighting for a while Roxanne slowly began to gain the upper hand. Due to the monster sustaining more and more injuries, its speed began to decrease as the fight went on. But even when this was going on Roxanne didn't let her guard down. Now is the time she should be more careful than ever.

'A cornered beast is a walking disaster after all '

And true to her something did happen. Strange markings began to appear on the monster's body. The markings moved like snakes as they covered the monster's body.

Seeing these markings Roxanne's facial expression changed. She knew what those were. They are demonic runes. Like the primordial runes from Norse mythology, demonic runes also have the ability to alter reality. It's just demonic runes users are just too scarce. In fact there were only 7 people who could use these in the past.

" Everyone get the hell away from here " shouted Roxanne as she increased her death aura. The weapons she was holding began to change. She was no longer holding back. The plain black katana began to change to a normal katana.

Roxanne just used her ability to replace her weapons in an instant. You can't really think that an enemy would just stay there doing nothing when you are summoning your weapons. So Roxanne created this method as a way to not hinder her in combat.

The aura of death began to flow through the katanas causing a chain reaction. Purple runes began to glow on the blade. If someone looked closely they would realize that these runes are quite similar to the demonic runes the monster has on his body.

The only difference is that while the monster's runes looked like something you would create by dipping a stick in ink, they were too crude and resembled a child's scribbles. In contrast, Roxanne's runes looked like something you did with a brush—elegant and refined.

As someone who always tries to improve her skills constantly, Roxanne never let her existing skills deteriorate. So after she learned how to use Demonic runes she always tried to use them in her everyday life so she could modify them to her liking.

And after years of trying and errors, Roxanne finally achieved the Grandmaster proficiency in demonic runes. And as the weapon maniac she is she added those runes to her weapons. And that's when she found out a rather disturbing discovery. Demonic runes cannot be carved into normal metals. The corruption will destroy the weapon before it can even properly be finished.

" He is going to blow himself. Everyone gets behind Gabriel and Michael. Gabriel, Michael pour your all magic power into casting the strongest barrier you have to protect yourselves. If you don't have enough, ask others to transfer theirs to you. " Roxanne shouted her orders as she readied herself.

Her purple glowed as she maximized her death aura. What she is about to do is something even she considers foolish. But with her not releasing any seals this is the best she could do.

' Damn those suicidal morons. How the hell did Rizeviem brainwash these guys to do their work so diligently? Weren't devils supposed to be creatures of sin? ' She cursed Rizeviem in her mind for making it more difficult for her.

In the sky, there are two devils who are broadcasting their sight to their base. These devils originally belonged to an extra clan that was said to be extinct. From the beginning Rizeviem's goal was to fish up some information about his enemies. This is why none of the shadow gardens revealed much of their skills.

Even Roxanne herself didn't unseal more than one seal. If there were no bugs she would have destroyed all these monsters in a matter of seconds. For now, she has to give Rizevim the illusion that she is just a satan class being.

After a round of cursing Rizevim in her mind, Roxanne began to steady herself. She assumed a confident stance as the air around her began to tremble with power. The deathly aura emanating from her condensed so intensely that it seemed to absorb the very light around her, casting the surroundings into shadow.

Her piercing purple eyes remained fixed on her target, unwavering in their focus. As the tension mounted, the world around her seemed to blur and fade into the background, leaving only her and the approaching monstrosity in vivid color against a backdrop of black and white.

Despite the imminent threat of its impending explosion, the monster charged at Roxanne with reckless abandon. It recognized the danger she posed to its plans and knew that she had to be eliminated before it could be stopped. Fueled by demonic runes and empowered to a level akin to a Super Devil-class being, the creature surged forward with newfound strength and determination.

Roxanne exhaled deeply, centering herself as she muttered, "Twin Sword Style: Abyssal Dance of Voracity." A sudden black flash accompanied her movement, startling everyone present. Witnesses could barely register what had occurred; one moment, Roxanne stood before the monster, and in the next, she had bypassed it in a mere second. The velocity of her motion was so astonishing that, without the visual cue of the black flash, observers might have mistaken it for teleportation.

When Roxanne sheathed her twin swords, which somehow appeared at her waist, the monster, suspended in mid-air, was split into countless pieces. It didn't even manage to let out a scream as its body was eroded by black flames, leaving nothing of it, not even its soul.

But Roxanne didn't celebrate her victory as she hurriedly cast her barrier to protect her from the violent explosion that ensued after.
