Chapter 15

Down in the meeting, King Kande spoke to the elders in council as he waited for the arrival of the chief priest. Kande and other kingdom had experience three days total darkness and now being the fourth the weather already seem brighter and back to it usual glory, or shining day and night.

The Royal chief priest arrived and went in straight, standing in front of King Kande and his Queen whom sat beside him on their Palace throne.

"Greetings your majesty, Greetings Your highness!" The Royal chief priest greeted King Kande and his Queen respectively.

"Welcome wise one" King Kande replied.

"You summoned me to come to the palace your majesty, anything you need my assistance on." The Royal chief priest asked keenly. While the rest of the elders were silent looking at the priest.

"Yes, We would like to know when will the famine but put to an end, when will the drought stop?" King Kande asked the priest.

"Hmm, your majesty that's in the witches court to decided" The priest responded.

"About the witches, My son hasn't woken up yet since the day he had returned from his last battle with the neighboring Kingdom."

"Hmph.. Your Majesty, Your son Prince Ali, I don't seem to see him either" The priest spoked.

"What do you mean by that?" King Kande panicked as his chest squeezed in pain and seize his breathing, he struggled to breath.

Noticing King Kande discomfort and struggle, "Quickly call the Royal physician, the King doesn't seem to be alright" The priest spoked. And just then King Kande fainted.

"What's going on Priest, What have you done to my husband?!" Queen Mahama screamed as she call on the guards, supporting her husband whom had just fainted beside her.

The priest stood non moving from where he stood before, while the rest of the elders went in chaos, "What had happened to his majesty, what's going on in the Royal palace of Kande, it seems the palace is under attack" The voices of the elders rang in the meeting room, while the Queen waited for the guards to carry up her husband to the Royal physician department, but the Royal physician quickly appears into the meeting room with some leaves in his hand.

"The king might not survive the attack, as he doesn't have the witches protection" The priest spoked and the whole hall became quiet, even the Royal physician stared at the priest.

"What nonsense are you talking about!" Queen Mahama rebuked the Priest, "Hurry up chest on his majesty, his not moving" Queen Mahama said to the Royal physician Albert.

The priest hit his strong wooden rod in the ground and he spoked looking sternly, "The Jalin kingdom are angry with the king, and are going to wage a very serious war against us for taking their pride away from them."

"What pride are you talking about, we have no business with the Jalin Kingdom!" Queen Mahama resort as she stood up to go with the guards whom had carried her husband away to the Royal physician department.

"Your majesty, I am only delivering the message of the gods, I think when the King wakes up, you should ask him about it else the whole of Kande will be doomed, the wizards are not smile about it." The Royal chief priest hit his rod tied with red clothes and black scarf, hard on the ground and he turned and left the meeting hall, making all the rest of the elders break out in another chaos.

Queen Mahama dismissed the meeting asking all the elders to return home as the King is unwell, the meeting will have to be postponed in a week time when the King is fit to attend the council meeting. And the elders stood up left, murmuring ad they exit the Palace meeting hall.

"What wrong as the king committed?" One of the elders spoked as soon as he stood outside of the palace, as he didn't dare speak evil against the king inside the palace.

"Who knows what he had taken away from the witches or wizard they should spare my family oo." Another elder spoked.

"Hmph, I had withnessed this type of famine and I can tell the last two decade own wasn't as severe as these, we have never experienced three days no sunlight, no day only dark clouds and night, these is serious, if the king as taking something that isn't is or from the Jalin kingdom, he should better go back and return it, am not ready to die yet" Another elder screamed out, making the rest of the elders whom were walking home, and waiting for the local carriage stared at him, shaking their head in support as none of them were ready to to die yet, knowing about the disappearance the witches are capable of doing to ordinary humans like them.

Princess Alesa sat in the room waiting for the Royal physician to return, hours passed back and yet the Royal physician hadn't returned, letter she heard a knock and saw the two maids come into the room with heads bent low.

"Where's the Royal physician?" Princess Alesa asked them, and they shook their head.

"He has gone to the meeting hall" One of the maids spoked not raising her head to look at the princess. She hasn't recovered from the shock of seeing the Princess do magic and she has heard from the maids whom work below in the lower ground that the King had fainted and the chief priest had said that the Jalin kingdom is after them for taking their pride.

"When will the Royal physician return?" Princess Alesa asked, as she wanted to ask from him about the Prince condition. She remembered she had meet with the prince at the the Soso River bank and had lure him to sleep with her, as she didn't want to get married to Crown Prince Fedina from Jalin. She had meet Prince Fedina twice and she hated him, inshort she never liked anything about Jalin people as Acan people also despised them for their gift of using magic.

Why she hated Prince Fedina from the start was that her hand maid had told her that the Jalin Kingdom practice incest to keep the family royal blood purer, and mostly they don't marry anyone outside their family lineage or kinsmen. She didn't want to believe her hand maiden but she heard her step mother telling her step brother Charles that it's good for the king to get rid of Alesa, as she wouldn't have anything disturbing her relationship with the king. Alesa also heard her stepmother confirming it to her son, that Jalin Kingdom had witches and Wizard as their rules, inshort all of Jalin people are gifted with magical powers either to control fire, air, water, or the earth, that she had also seen them once, when she was a little girl and her mother had travelled with her their to go see her sister whom married a man from Jalin.

Princess Alesa ears widened when she heard of all the things that Jalin Kingdom are capable off, She never bothered to study about them before but after hearing all the things her stepmother had told her stepbrother, and happy the woman is to see her getting married to the enemy kingdom, she decided to think of how to break her virginity so that the prince wouldn't want her again knowing that she had been deflowered.

Princess Alesa remember how difficult it was for her to accomplish her mission but she was determined to break her virginity, it wasn't easy at first to see a man, where would she get a man to sleep with her, in as much as she was a princess , it was more difficult to see a man who wouldn't recognize a princess and definitely he wouldn't agree to sleep with her knowing she's a princess from the palace, and worst was that, she he had to always cover her face and head whenever she's out of her chamber, since the very first day her father confirmed her engagement to Prince Fedina.

She scoffed as she remembered Prince Fedina, what will he do now that she has been deflowered, will he still want to marry her, she hoped not. Remembering how it wasn't even easy for her to run away fr the palace, she had extra maids and guards following her, since the confirmation of her engagement to Prince Fedina, she had only two days left before Prince Fedina will come from Jalin kingdom and finally take her away. Frustrated with no plans of escaping she decide to go to the Soso River to place and relax her never. And there she was crying and singing from her heart, only for her to turn and look back and saw a handsome masculine man whom look like a warrior staring at her.
