The King's wrath

The next morning, "Ahhh!" the maid exclaimed when she walked in the princess room. The water bowl she was holding to clean the princess's face fell off her hand and made a loud sound when she hit the ground. Before her eyes, the princess was sleeping with Hung Dao.

"Ugh. What is happening?" Hung Dao woke up, his head was still heavy from being drunk.

"You… you…" the maid was speechless.

The princess not just woke up too from the noise. She was extremely calm to see Hung Dao next to her. "Did you sleep well?" she asked him.

"Why aren't you yelling or hitting me? The kind of reaction that your maid is doing," Hung Dao said jokingly.

When the princess heard that, she turned to the maid and smiled warmly, "Come here."

The maid, who was still confused as to why the princess was so calm, shyly stepped closer to them. The princess told her to sit down on the bed and told Hung Dao, "You should leave now."

"Hm. Don't worry. I will be back with good news," he said and left the room.

"Wha...what is going on princess?" the maid stutterly asked.

"Do you care about me?" the princess ignored her question.

"Of...of course. You know how loyal I am," she answered, worrying why the princess was asking her that.

"Then listen to me and do as I say."

Outside of the princess room, Hung Dao is now heading to Thuy Ba, older sister of Thien Thanh and the godmother of Hung Dao.

"Why are you here so early in the morning?" she asked.

"Godmother, please be calm until you have heard everything I am about to say," Hung Dao then told her every detail from being drunk and secretly sneaked into the princess room under the guards' eyes.

"You…," she took a deep breath to calm herself. "I don't know if I should be angry at you for sleeping with my sister or worry about you going to get in trouble when my brother finds out about this."

"That is why, godmother," Hung Dao knelt on the floor. "You have seen me grow up and know that I am a responsible person. I am willing to accept any punishment the king might have on me, but right now the thought of telling him is unbearable to me. That is why I came here to ask for your help. Can you talk to him for me?" Hung Dao sincerely asked.

"Even though I am his beloved sister, I am not sure if I can do this," Thuy Ba admitted.

"I am very sorry to trouble you like this, but you are the only one that can calm the king," Hung Dao asked for her help again.

Thuy Ba thought for a while, then finally accepted, "Hai… Go back to your place and prepare yourself. I will try my best but I can't guarantee anything."

"Thank you, godmother!" Hung Dao felt easier.

"Who said I am your godmother," she smiled at him. "Now leave before I change my mind."

"I will go right now," Hung Dao stood up, bowed to Thuy Ba, and left.

Later that day, Thuy Ba met the king in his workroom.

"Oh? Hi there sister. What made you come here?" the king was working and got off his chair when he saw Thuy Ba entering. Thuy Ba bowed at the king.

"I hope I am not troubling you," she said.

"Why are you always sticking with traditions? Please act as usual like before I became king," the king was happy to see her.

"We are not children anymore. It is best to keep the formalities," Thuy Ba said.

"Anyway, why are you here?" the king changed the subject.

"I am here to inform you about something," she replied.

"Oh? What is it?" He was curious.

Thuy Ba then told him what Hung Dao had told her. The warm and welcoming atmosphere in the room changed. The king was furious.

"Guards!" the king yelled as loud as he can.

"Yes, my king!" the guards quickly came. They were scared of hearing the king called.

"Go and arrest prince Tran Hung Dao here immediately!" he ordered.

"Yes, my king!" the guards quickly left as they came.

"Please calm yourself," Thuy Ba was afraid just like the guards as well. Now she wishes she could leave the room as they did.

"Sister! Don't try to help him! I never thought he would do such a thing! I will kill him!"

Hope you like this one as well.
