Sigh.
Lost in thought, Midori's fingers idly dug into the earth of her front yard. A few flower seeds, nestled in her palm, found their way into the moist soil, planted with an absent-minded grace.
Why were these patriarchs so difficult to please?
At first, she needed to please Grandpa Takigawa.
Then Grandpa Kinoshita.
And now Grandpa Matsumoto.
These annoying Grandpas!
"Hi there."
Midori turned to look to her right side and saw Tsukasa Yamagata leaning against the fence separating their houses.
"Hello, Tsukasa-san."
"I just moved in today," Tsukasa beamed at her. "Can I invite you to my house for a meal?"
"..."
Kiyoshi's voice reverberated in Midori's mind, loud and clear.
"Do not get too close to Tsukasa Yamagata. That guy is a ruthless lady killer. The only woman he doesn't go after is his own little sister."
