Okami never expected Anita to be a talented individual overseen in the Anime and Manga. If the pokemon assault did not happen, then Baki would not be that determined to teach Anita to become stronger. She would just become an ordinary civilian whose talents were buried with time. "This is a pleasant surprise, old Baki."
Baki nodded. "I still have some hesitations for her to become a ninja but I realized that no matter if she becomes one or not, catastrophes like the berserk pokemon assault will still happen and we will become helpless about it."
"I was frustrated when a ten-year-old bested me when it comes to ninjutsu," Tomiro complained as he chewed his food. "But when I found out that she was a genius, I felt that it's an expected outcome."
Okami chuckled. "That was a good move in giving her a chance to become a ninja, old Baki. Have you seen her teammates? Do you know who is her Jonin-sensei?"
Baki shook his head. "The last time I had a conversation with her, she informed me that the higher-ups are still deciding as to which team she will belong. For now, she's busy with the Pokemon Intelligence Division and Inoichi Yamanaka-sensei is training her."
"She will learn a lot from Inoichi-san," Okami remarked as he continued eating his dinner. "Anyway, is she still staying at your old house?"
"Nope. Since there is a dormitory inside the Pokemon Intelligence Division, Inoichi-sensei decided that it would be better for her to live there." Baki offered Okami the orange juice when he saw him choking on his food. "Careful!"
Okami drank it and felt relieved. "Thank you. Anyway, that is indeed a good option. It's safe and beneficial for her to stay beside the Yamanaka clan leader. Is she a Pokemon Trainer as well?"
Baki nodded. "She recently became one last month. Tomiro performed the ritual and she chose Zubat as her starter pokemon."
"Just like her Sensei, eh?" Okami picked up the last morsel of food on his plate. "Ah! Good food. That was a good meal."
They did the dishes and cleaned the area to avoid attracting the pests. After they were done, Okami gestured them to sit down.
"This will be the first meeting of our Ketchum clan and I want to tell you about our plans in the future." Okami gave each of them a notebook, which he prepared beforehand. "As you all know, my Kekkei Genkai grants me the ability to see the future and know the past through the Prophetic Jutsu. I've included inside the notebooks the things we have to prepare so we can face those dangers when the time comes. You may use them for your perusal. For now, please open it and go directly to the second page."
The trio opened their respective notebooks at the same time. Okami gave them ample time to study the content. He could see their expressions changed as they opened the second page. Understandably, he added, "You may ask your questions right now. We will discuss everything page by page. Remember, these things are confidential and should not be told to anyone outside of the clan."
Baki raised his hand and asked, "What about this 'Sounds Attack' thing. Can you explain it a bit?"
Okami remembered that he was still bound to the laws of the High World and he could not tell them about the future events directly unless he chose to show them via the Prophetic Jutsu. The mysterious God told him that once he activated Dialga's skill, he could show them this through 'Rewind' repeatedly without expending another Dream Points. "It would be better to show the things that are about to come."
Okami stood up and did several hand seals and said, "Dialga's Major Prophecy!"
At once, everything was frozen into a stop and holographic images appeared before them. It started showing the events in fragments, during the Chunin selection exam and ended with the scene where Hiruzen was dying.
After the skill ended, the time moved forward once again. They were all silent for a very long time.
Okami was the first one to break the quietude. "What you saw earlier are future events that would happen eventually once we let the course of time run normally. Well, you already know that the Leaf village is only one among the existing villages throughout this continent. One of which is the Hidden Sounds Village, who is the perpetrator of the attack. Currently, they are being led by a wanted criminal, Orochimaru."
"That's unbelievable! But the one we saw was not the Orochimaru that I remember. I can still clearly recall each one of them - Tsunade-sama, Jiraiya-sama, and Orochimaru-sama," Baki refuted, his mind was still not over from the images that he saw several minutes ago. "One of the three legendary Sannins attacking us?! That's big news!"
Okami nodded. "Glad that you've heard of him, old Baki. At least I don't have to explain everything from the beginning. Anyway, he did not look the same because of a Forbidden Jutsu, that's all I can say."
Tomiro massaged his forehead. "The bad thing is we can't provide any evidence that could implicate their bad actions. Especially that spy with glasses, he could stand on his own against Kakashi-san."
"Looking by how he fought, that was a medical ninja expert," Okami replied as he drank another cup of juice and sat down. "Even though the images were not fluid but at least you already have the idea as to what the future has in store for us."
"Will you show that to the Hokage?" Baki asked.
Okami gave a slight nod. "I think it is necessary to tell him so that Konoha can do some drastic measures to foil their plans and it is also our way of protecting Konoha. But in the end, it will still be hugely dependent on them as to how they are going to prevent these things from happening. At least, our conscience is clear and we did our part."
"That's good. These are your plans in countering those attacks?" Tomiro continued skimming the notebook.
"Yes. This is a good chance to establish ourself inside this village." Okami summoned his Pokemon App for them to see. "And the best way to do it is through our status as Pokemon Trainers."
They continued discussing their plan throughout the night, including the Pokemon Safari and the new rules Okami wanted to implement when a person wanted to become a Pokemon Trainer. Toki remained silent because he did not know what to say or do except to listen to their recommendations. After several hours, Okami adjourned the meeting and they all went to sleep.
============================
Okami woke up the next day with a very cheerful disposition. He went downstairs and greeted both Tomiro and Baki who were already awake and was just waiting for him to eat breakfast together. When they were done eating, everyone went to do their respective plans for the day.
Okami went outside the Pokemon Center and summoned every pokemon except Kadabra. He started doing some stretches for warm-ups before he started his training.
Time quickly passed by and it was already 9 AM. Tomiro opened the gate and went back inside the Pokemon Center. Soon, several ninjas entered the premise to shop for their supplies.
Okami decided to visit the Pokemon Intelligence Division. He still had to verify their current knowledge about Pokemon and if they had developed new things related to the integration of Chakra and Pokemon Jutsu. With Shikaku being the head, he was confident that they had good results.
Okami teleported to the Academy's main entrance. The first thing he noticed was the new building that was standing beside the Intelligence Division headquarter. He suspected that this was the place he was looking for but he still asked several bypassers to confirm his guess. True enough, he was correct. After walking for a few minutes, he arrived at his target location.
Okami entered the office. The first floor was just like how he imagined it to be: an information desk, a waiting lounge, and several tables aligned symmetrically. A few ninjas were already working at their designated working areas accompanied by their pokemon. He scanned the room to see if he recognized anyone inside. Luckily, someone he was very familiar with was currently doing some paperwork.
Okami headed to where the person was and greeted, "Hello, Shikaku-san."
Shikaku lifted his gaze, pleasantly surprised to see Okami back. "Okami-kun! When did you return?!"
"Yesterday. I'm sorry that I was not able to visit this place right away."
Shikaku stood up and shook his hands. "I can understand. How are you?"
Okami carefully recounted all the details to him. "Now, the berserk pokemon threat will no longer happen in the future."
"That's good. And I'm very happy that you're safe as well." Shikaku patted Okami's shoulders. "Your book is a great help to our study. There are things that I want to confirm from you. Do you have the time to spare?"
Okami nodded. "That's why I am here, Shikaku-san. Remember that we need each other's ideas to study the integration of Elemental Release or Non-elemental Techniques and Pokemon Jutsu."
Shikaku smiled and talked through the wireless earpiece to call someone. After a few seconds, a Genin whom Okami met previously entered the office via the back room.
"Shikaku-sensei! Is there anything I can help - hey!" Taeho suddenly stopped talking when he realized Okami was inside the office. "Okami-kun, you're alive! You're back from your mission?!"
Okami had a blank look on his face, not knowing what Taeho was talking about. Even then, he answered with a resounding yes.
"Someone said that you died while doing a very dangerous mission. I thought it was true but seeing you here invalidates their claims. But I know that - "
Shikaku coughed lightly. "Taeho..."
Taeho remembered that he was urgently called by his Sensei. "Ah, hah! Sorry, I talk too much. What is it, Shikaku-sensei?"
"Stop what you are doing and stay here. Let's take advantage of Okami-kun's presence and ask all the things we are in doubt with regarding Pokemon."
"Oooh! Yeah, that's right! There are so many things that I want to ask of you, Okami-kun. Where to start? Ah, of course, the pokemon typing and how it affects the Pokemon Trainers. It's like this, last week when I was in a mission, I found out that something is behind the pokemon habitat but the spring behind it was crystal clear and - "
"Taeho, you're going off track again. Please stick to a particular matter before proceeding to the next." Shikaku reminded him once again and gave a deep sigh.
"Sorry, sensei." Taeho scratched his head as he apologized. "Ah, where should I start, Okami-kun?"
Okami chuckled when he realized the peculiar attitude of Taeho. "Hmm. To tell you the truth, I know all about Pokemon but I am not that familiar with the elemental release because our clan only fights using Pokemon Jutsu. Will you please do the honor in enlightening me as to how Chakra affects Pokemon and vice versa?"
Shikaku gave him a thankful look. "Indeed, let's start with that. Go on, Taeho. Tell him what we currently know."
Taeho rubbed his nose. "As you wish. It is an open knowledge that every living being has chakra with differing quantities. This determines if a person can become a ninja or not. Chakra also has its nature which determines the type of elemental Jutsu that a ninja can easily learn. It is possible to learn all types of release by being proficient in chakra control, mostly involving Chakra's Nature Transformation and Shape Transformation. But once you become a Pokemon Trainer, the Pokemon starter's typing will affect and change the nature of his chakra and body dramatically. For instance, a ninja whose affinity is wind becomes a Psychic typing as well once it has Drowzee as its starter. It means that he can easily fuse wind release with a Psychic Pokemon Jutsu. His body will be vulnerable to a Beedrill's Bug skill such as Twineedle but is resistant against Mr. Mime's Psychic skills like Psybeam."
