Chapter 71

"I'm fine, Ms. Cat!" I assured her.

I was feeling more tired than usual, but it wasn't so bad.

"I'm taking your temperature just in case." Ms. Cat left the room to grab a thermometer.

When she came back and took my temperature, she simply stared at the results and shook her head.

"Is she sick, woof?" Prof. Dog asked. His hands were still trembling from the horror movie he saw earlier.

"She has a fever," Ms. Cat replied.

"Better stay home, woof."

"Get some rest, Beatrice. We don't want you collapsing while you're at school." Ms. Cat glanced at Gene. "Gene can help you catch up with classes."

I didn't think I could protest. "Alright."

Having Prof. Dog and Ms. Cat look out for me also reminded me of my parents. They used to take care of me like this back when they were around.

It was nice getting to feel it again. Being part of a family.
