Chapter 29

“So would I,” Dani said.

“Then, shut down those computers and let’s be off,” Trevor said. “By the way, you need to put those thumb drives in a safe place. If something happens to your computers, or you acquire a new one for some reason, they’ll come in handy.”

“Do we need a safe or something?” Dani said.

“We’re pretty secure here in this building, but it doesn’t pay to take chances. There should be a wall safe somewhere behind the bookcases.”

Trevor went to the wall of bookcases and studied it for a long minute. Then he fumbled around with his fingers, touched a hidden button of some sort, and a section of the bookcases swung out on silent hinges, revealing a safe. He removed a piece of paper that was taped to the door of the safe.

“Here you go,” he said. “This sheet of paper tells you how to open the safe, as well as how to change the combination. Let me show you guys the hidden button.”
